Chapter 4705: Discovery
Chapter 4705: Discovery
The two sat in silence by their tent, their gazes fixed on the rhythmic crash of waves against the shore, lost in their thoughts.
Early the next morning, as soon as the first light touched the horizon, Luo Yu and Gu Mo entered the sea from a secluded spot. With the water-repellent pearl in Luo Yu’s palm spinning, the sea water miraculously parted to both sides, revealing a clear path into the open ocean. They stepped forward, and as they did, the sea behind them seamlessly closed, returning to its undisturbed state. Gradually, they ventured deeper and deeper. Initially, the morning light still managed to pierce the surface, illuminating the seabed. However, as they descended further, all visibility vanished, replaced by a profound, pitch-black darkness – a realm where sunlight could not penetrate. The deepest parts of the sea were imbued with an undeniably mysterious aura.
As they explored the ocean’s depths, some cultivators with higher cultivation levels on the surface also sensed a subtle disturbance. They rose into the air and employed their divine sense to scan the seabed. What they detected slightly surprised them.
“Someone has entered the sea?” one exclaimed.
“Judging from the movement of the sea, they must possess a water-repellent pearl.”
“What? A water-repellent pearl? Who could possibly have such a treasure?” Those on the shore, hearing the stunned exclamations, couldn’t help but gaze out at the vast sea. Yet, they saw nothing extraordinary—only faint ripples on the water’s surface that quickly dissipated without a trace.
As time wore on, Luo Yu and Gu Mo steadily expanded the scope of their search across the vast ocean floor. The two released their powerful aura, ensuring that no sea monster dared to approach them. Protected by the invaluable water-repellent pearls, they remained safe throughout their exploration.
The two continued their diligent search from early morning well into the evening. At the bottom of the sea, the distinction between day and night was irrelevant, so they had no plans to return to the surface for rest. Instead, they pressed on, continuously extending their divine sense to probe the murky depths.
“Wait!” Gu Mo suddenly interjected, pulling Luo Yu to a halt in front of him.
“What’s wrong? Did you find something?” Luo Yu stopped and turned back, asking intently.
“Over there,” Gu Mo replied, holding a night pearl in one hand to illuminate their path and pointing into a particularly deep, dark direction. “My divine sense seems to have encountered something we can’t get close to. Let’s go check it out.”
“Alright, let’s go.” Luo Yu adjusted their course using his water-repellent pearl, heading toward the area Gu Mo indicated.
As they drew nearer, vibrant water plants, colorful corals, and intriguing rock formations came into view beneath their feet. The water surrounding them was incredibly clear and a pristine blue, made even more beautiful by the soft glow of the night pearl. Finally having made a discovery, the two hurried towards the location. As they drew closer, however, they realized they could not advance further. Approximately ten meters ahead of them, a powerful, invisible aura was shielding a central point, effectively preventing their approach. Not only were they physically blocked, but even their divine sense proved incapable of penetrating this formidable barrier to explore what lay deep within.
“This aura appears to be that of an ancient divine beast, and it seems somewhat similar to the aura of the Green Dragon,” Gu Mo remarked thoughtfully, gazing at the profound darkness before him, his heart stirring with a mix of awe and speculation. “Hell’s Lord, could he possibly be inside there?” He looked at Luo Yu, posing the question.
“You’re asking me? Who else can I ask? We can’t even get through, and our divine sense can’t penetrate it either.”
Luo Yu rolled his eyes, a hint of frustration in his tone. After a moment of thought, he added, “Let’s go up first.”
