Chapter 1156: Carved Into Certainty
Chapter 1156: Carved Into Certainty
The Angels and Demons who floated high above didn’t react in the slightest, they could accomplish the same feat themselves, so to them, it was simply insignificant. Those who had just died were nothing but cannon fodder, disposable existences whose deaths carried no meaning upon a battlefield, such as this.
"Shall we begin then?" Aura Nova’s voice echoed once again.
Omniedit: Command: Logic Hijack: Water Manipulation
The moment the command was invoked, her mana rumbled outward in violent crashing waves as the endless ocean beneath her feet exploded backwards. Towering currents surged upward with terrifying force, the sea itself trembling as though acknowledging a superior existence. In the next instant, gigantic water tentacles, colossal pillars, razor-sharp blades, and spiralling torrents all erupted outward from beneath Aura Nova’s feet in endless waves of destruction, their targets being the Angels and Demons floating high above the oceanic sky.
The Demons and Angels didn’t even bother attempting to dodge. Instead, they merely raised barriers forged from their innate energies; Chaos Energy and Faith Energy. To beings such as themselves, ordinary elemental attacks should never have posed any threat.
But the instant Aura Nova’s attacks collided against their barriers, everything changed.
Their defensive layers shattered instantly like fragile glass struck by a divine hammer. The sound of destruction echoed violently through the air as cracks spread across the barriers before they completely imploded. The expressions of the Angels and Demons shifted almost immediately as shock flashed across their faces.
The moment their barriers shattered, they moved to dodge, but it was already too late. Aura Nova’s attacks slammed into their bodies with overwhelming bone-crushing force. Several figures were blasted backwards through the sky like meteors, their bodies twisting violently from the sheer impact. Blood sprayed through the air while flesh tore apart under the pressure of the attacks.
Their eyes widened in disbelief. They, who stood amongst the strongest within the armies of their respective Rulers, had actually been injured by a single Human attack.
Their innate regeneration activated instantly, flesh knitting back together as though nothing had happened. Torn skin regenerated, shattered bones repaired themselves, and mangled organs restored completely in mere moments. Within seconds, they looked entirely unharmed, as though the injuries had never existed.
In a sudden blur, the rank 4 Demon Monarch vanished from where he stood, his speed surpassing anything Aura Nova of the past could ever have reacted to. Space distorted violently in his wake as he crossed the distance between them almost instantaneously.
The moment he appeared before her, his foot lashed outward toward Aura Nova’s head with catastrophic force capable of annihilating stars.
Omniedit: Command: Source Edit: Crumbled Space
Before the attack could even connect, Aura Nova had already acted. Space itself distorted around the Demon Monarch’s leg before violently collapsing inward. Reality crumbled around his limb like shattered glass folding into itself.
A sickening sound echoed through the battlefield, the Demon Monarch’s foot was instantly erased into nothingness as though it had never existed at all. Black blood splattered violently into the air while fragments of corrupted flesh scattered across the air
The rank 4 Demon Monarch’s eyes widened in genuine shock. Throughout his entire existence, only rank 1 to rank 3 beings had ever been capable of handling him so effortlessly. Yet now, a Human was standing before him, injuring him repeatedly with casual ease.
But Aura Nova wasn’t finished. She could already sense the boiling Chaos Energy within the Demon Monarch’s body as he prepared to unleash a devastating counterattack capable of ravaging the battlefield itself. Unfortunately for him, she had no intention of allowing that attack to manifest.
If this had been before her seclusion, she knew very well that she could never have defeated a Demon Monarch of such terrifying ranking within the Demon King’s army. But now, she was no longer the same person she once was. She had undergone a complete metamorphosis, like a phoenix reborn from ruin and ash.
Truly, the greatest mistakes made by the God and the Demon King had been allowing her and the rest of Anthony’s friends to enter seclusion uninterrupted.
Omniedit: Command: Source Edit: Frozen Reality
With nothing more than a single thought, reality froze around the Demon Monarch.
Not merely his body, but verything, his Chaos Energy stopped flowing, his attack froze completely, his thoughts halted. Even the beating of his heart ceased entirely. Every aspect of his existence became suspended within frozen reality itself.
Aura Nova finally turned toward the Demon Monarch directly for the first time since the battle had begun. Then she calmly walked across the surface of the ocean. Coming to a stop directly before him, Aura Nova slowly raised her hands. Her right hand rested upon the Demon Monarch’s skull while her left hand settled upon his shoulder.
Then, with calm and effortless ease, she pulled, there was no resistance whatsoever, the Demon Monarch’s head tore cleanly away from the rest of his body.
The moment she unfroze reality, the grotesque sound of flesh violently tearing apart echoed throughout the battlefield. Black blood erupted outward like a fountain as the severed corpse convulsed in midair. Blood splattered across Aura Nova’s expressionless face, yet she didn’t even blink.
She simply held the horned skull within her grasp while staring at it silently. Then she clenched her fist, the skull exploded outward into shattered bone fragments, black blood, brain matter, and torn flesh.
A rank 4 Demon Monarch had just been killed as though he were nothing more than an insignificant insect.
But Aura Nova wasn’t foolish enough to assume that a being of such ranking would die so easily. Apexus Rank existences often possessed twisted forms of resurrection or immortality.
Omniedit: Command: Source Edit: Soul Sense
Her sky-blue eyes immediately began glowing with ethereal brilliance as her perception shifted beyond the physical plane itself. Then she saw it, the vanishing soul of the Demon Monarch.
Omniedit: Command: Overwrite Cascade: Soul Purge
Souls weren’t something that could be casually manipulated through Logic Hijack or Source Edit Commands. Only the Overwrite Cascade and Root Access Code possessed authority over such things.
The moment the command activated, the Demon Monarch’s soul was instantly purged from existence itself. With another casual thought, Aura Nova set the headless corpse ablaze before shifting her attention away from it entirely.
For several moments, she remained still, expecting the Demon King’s soul clone to appear, just as Lucian and Aaaninja had once explained to her. But nothing happened. The Demon Monarch simply died permanently without any interference from the Demon King.
Naturally, Aura Nova didn’t know that the Demon King had already reclaimed all of his split souls in preparation for battling Anthony in his complete True Form. Without those split souls remaining behind, no soul clone could manifest there.
Slowly, Aura Nova lifted her gaze toward the remaining Demons and Angels. For the first time since the battle began, caution and apprehension filled their expressions.
She slowly floated upward into the sky with indifferent calmness while the black blood staining her face vanished without leaving behind even the slightest trace. But the Demons and Angels didn’t simply watch her approach. The moment she began moving forward, they all attacked simultaneously.
Tens of long-range attacks erupted across the battlefield as beams of Faith Energy, torrents of Chaos Energy, divine flames, corrupted lightning, destructive spears, and reality-tearing attacks all surged toward Aura Nova at once. None of them dared approach her directly anymore after witnessing what she had done to the rank 4 Demon Monarch.
Aura Nova merely stared at the incoming attacks without even the slightest hint of concern, then, effortlessly, she erased them from existence.
Their desperate attempts to survive were meaningless. Their resistance was futile. From the moment they had chosen to target her, their deaths had already been carved into certainty.
