Chapter 1199: Envelope

Chapter 1199: Envelope

Anthony sighed as he remained seated. Personally, he wasn’t really a guy who was big on saying goodbyes. After all, he had never had any reason to say goodbye to anyone in his past life. He could have simply avoided telling Seraphim, Dale, and Reynold altogether, but he had decided against that and instead made the conscious decision to tell them personally.

“You guys make it seem as if I’m going to die or something like that,” Anthony spoke as he rose to his feet and walked towards them, “and stop bowing like I gave you all some life-changing opportunity or something.”

“Although you don’t know it, being on the same team as you is already a life-changing opportunity. After all, on the Blue Planet you are no different from a God, and us being in the same Military team as you sort of grants us numerous opportunities if we play our cards right,” Dale, ever the opportunist, spoke as he rose, standing upright.

“I have no objections to that,” Anthony replied.

Seraphim, Dale, and Reynold simply laughed.

“But if you leave, can you return to the Acarnis Galaxy, or are you stuck in the Upper Galaxy forever?” Seraphim asked.

“I can if I want to and whenever I want to,” Anthony replied without missing a beat. “Although that is only because of one of my abilities. I can’t speak for Vega, Kingsley, and the rest,” he added, his tone remaining flat so as not to create any misunderstanding. “But I’m not sure I’d be coming back anytime soon, so don’t expect me,” he finished, making sure they wouldn’t cling to some fantasy that he might suddenly return one day.

Of course, Anthony could choose to return on a whim someday and stay for a day or two. But those were decisions he preferred making in the spur of the moment rather than planning in advance.

They all nodded their heads, perfectly understanding what Anthony meant.

“But there is an opportunity to come to the Upper Galaxy in the future,” Anthony added with a light smile.

“Are you for real?” Dale immediately shouted as the news struck him like a bolt of lightning. Even Seraphim’s and Reynold’s eyes shone with unmistakable excitement.

“Don’t overthink it. It would only be a temporary thing, and that’s assuming you guys are still alive by then and haven’t fallen in combat,” Anthony replied with a shake of his head.

“What opportunity is this?” Reynold asked, completely ignoring the rest of Anthony’s words.

“My wedding with Vega. I’ll invite you all, bring you to the Upper Galaxies myself, and then bring you back to the Acarnis Galaxy right afterward,” Anthony explained.

“Hehehe… This is perfect. At least you didn’t forget us. We were here when you guys started dating and everything,” Dale immediately followed up with an amused grin.

“Which is exactly why I’m inviting you three, so try your best to stay alive for a few more decades,” Anthony replied as he shook his head with a faint smile.

After that, they talked a little more before Anthony gave each of them a hug as he spoke, “I guess this is goodbye for now,” gently patting Dale on the back.

“Don’t miss us too much,” Reynold spoke with a smile.

“Once I teleport from this building, I won’t even remember you guys existed,” Anthony joked with a completely straight face.

Everyone burst into one final round of laughter.

“It was nice being on a team with you guys for a while. Thank you guys for everything,” Anthony spoke before vanishing from the room without waiting for any of them to reply.

Seraphim, Dale, and Reynold stood in silence as they stared at the empty space where Anthony had once stood for several long seconds without speaking a single word. Taking a deep breath, Seraphim simply stepped forward and walked out of the room as though she couldn’t bear to remain inside it any longer. Dale quietly sat back down on the ground, completely lost in thought, while Reynold remained motionless, his gaze fixed ahead as countless memories replayed within his mind.

Each of them processed Anthony’s departure in their own way, silently accepting that an important chapter of their lives had finally come to an end.

Anthony’s figure appeared within another chamber, and inside the room, a man with white hair and blue eyes, just like Anthony’s own, could be seen going through a stack of documents. It was Warlord Raelith, whom Anthony had decided to visit before leaving the Military Base.

“You seem to be working as hard as ever, Warlord Raelith,” Anthony spoke as he leaned casually against the wall behind the man.

Warlord Raelith wasn’t startled by Anthony’s sudden appearance. He simply turned toward Anthony, a trace of surprise visible within his eyes, as he hadn’t expected to ever see Anthony again in his lifetime.

“Surprised to see me?” Anthony asked with a faint smile.

Warlord Raelith sighed before speaking. “I am. After all, you played me and the other Warlords for fools. We all thought you were going to establish your own Military Base and were prepared to join you… but it seems you never had any intention of creating one from the very beginning,” he said, his tone carrying a hint of exasperation.

“I apologize for that,” Anthony spoke with a sigh. “It was easier to let you all live with the idea that I was going to establish a Military Base than to explain that I never intended to get one in the first place. I’m simply too lazy and indifferent to deal with something like that.”

Warlord Raelith remained silent, understanding exactly where Anthony was coming from. After spending enough time around him, he had long realized that Anthony genuinely disliked unnecessary responsibilities, regardless of the influence or authority they might bring.

“So, do you need anything? After all, you don’t visit me without a reason,” Warlord Raelith asked.

Anthony remained silent for a moment before shaking his head and tossing an envelope toward Warlord Raelith as he spoke, “Open it in your own time and only when you are completely alone. I’d advise you to go to the Barren Planet before doing so,” Anthony explained calmly.

Warlord Raelith caught the envelope before scanning it with his senses, yet he found absolutely nothing unusual about it. Nevertheless, he was certain Anthony wasn’t playing some pointless prank on him.

“What is th—” he tried to ask as his eyes shifted toward Anthony, but all they met was empty space. Anthony was no longer there.

Anthony reappeared at the Null Estate, inside his room, where he immediately collapsed face-first onto the bed like someone who had just returned from working a grueling nine-to-five job. Without caring about anything else, he simply buried his face into the soft mattress.

And with that, his one month of doing absolutely nothing finally began.

Time flowed onward, indifferent to everyone. In the blink of an eye, three entire weeks passed, leaving only one final week before the day of Ascension finally arrived.
