Chapter 1203: Desperate Supreme Monarchs
Chapter 1203: Desperate Supreme Monarchs
Anthony’s figure appeared midair within Military Base Alpha-9. Clouds surrounded him, his sky-blue eyes tearing downward as he watched various soldiers boarding aircraft as they prepared to leave the entire planet.
The Military as a whole had come to a decision. Since they were losing three Supreme Monarchs, they decided to integrate these three Military Bases together with Alpha-1, Alpha-2, and Alpha-3.
And of course, it wasn’t just the people who were being moved. The resources and the personnel from the Logistics Department were being relocated as well. The soldiers from the Alpha-9 planet that had been destroyed a few months back were the most tired of this entire process. They had just moved to Military Base Alpha-6, integrated into new teams, and adjusted to the new system, only to be told they would be moved once again.
Of course, various soldiers asked questions about why these three bases were being integrated with the other bases, but the only answer they received was that the Null Supreme Monarchs were leaving the military forever due to an unforeseen reason.
Naturally, various rumours began to spread, but nobody could provide any definite answers. As for the higher-ups, they paid no attention to the rumours, as they knew the real reason why the Null Supreme Monarchs were leaving.
When the matter of Ascension had been revealed to them, they had been shocked to the core and could only click their tongues in jealousy, wishing they too could accomplish such a feat. Michael and Mitchelle simply told the other Supreme Monarchs that once someone reached a certain level of strength, they would receive the Calling, which was an obvious lie.
As for the Warlords, they were just as clueless as the rest of the soldiers, as the Supreme Monarchs deemed the matter of Ascension a secret of the highest order.
Anthony vanished from the sky and appeared within Mitchelle’s estate, located inside the Military Base.
“Good afternoon, Mom,” Anthony greeted as he appeared in a blur. Without waiting for Mitchelle to speak, he simply collapsed onto one of the couches in her office.
Mitchelle, who had been going through a stack of documents, smiled at him and spoke, “Look who finally decided to visit. Now that Vega has left your side, you finally remembered your own mother?” she teasingly asked as she set down the document in her hand.
Anthony arched an eyebrow as he asked, “How do you even know about that?”
“I’m meeting with Vega tomorrow for a girls’ day out. Since we are all ascending, it’s best we spend a bit of time together before we don’t see each other anymore,” Mitchelle spoke as she crossed one leg over the other.
Anthony nodded. He had already concluded that he would spend these last three days visiting his parents and grandparents prior to the Ascension.
“So, how is the move and merge going?” Anthony asked.
“Fine, but slow,” Mitchelle sighed. “It should be done within a month or so,” she stated.
Anthony nodded, not surprised. After he and his friends had chosen the date for their Ascension a month ago, he had informed his parents and grandparents, only to be told they couldn’t make it. After discussing it among themselves, Michael, Mitchelle, Irene, and Collins decided to Ascend later once they were finished with everything.
Although Anthony had said he would simply wait for them, they didn’t agree and instead told him to ascend alongside his friends, saying that each group and generation should move forward together.
“I’m sure Father would be having a harder time since he doesn’t like this type of work for any reason,” Anthony spoke in an amused tone, recalling how Michael had called him several times asking for a skill book that could create clones, just so he could escape all the paperwork.
Anthony immediately decided that when he met Michael tomorrow, he would spar with him to cheer him up. He was sure Michael would appreciate it very much. After all, the man had always looked forward to sparring with him.
“It seems I forgot to mention it since it wasn’t important,” Mitchelle spoke again. “The other Supreme Monarchs want to meet you,” her red eyes meeting Anthony’s sky-blue ones.
Anthony didn’t react. He simply asked, “Why?” a hint of curiosity in his voice.
“Although they didn’t say why, I’m guessing it’s because of the Ascension,” Mitchelle began as she fell into thought. “It seems they were able to guess that the news and discovery of Ascension are somehow linked to you,” she continued. “And the First Supreme Monarch seems to be the most desperate. Although his strength increased recently, it seems he still isn’t satisfied,” she shook her head as she spoke. “And before you say anything, I’ve denied their request countless times, and they just keep pestering me. So whatever you decide to do is entirely up to you,” she stated in finality.
Anthony remained silent for a moment. He didn’t even need to consider it, as he had already come to the conclusion that he wouldn’t be meeting the Supreme Monarchs. Not because he hated them, but simply because he couldn’t be bothered. Just because he was using today to revisit places like the Omni Peak Academy and the Tenderlove Orphanage didn’t mean he intended to meet people he had no interest in seeing.
“If you see them again, tell them that if they can find me on their own, then I’ll hear whatever they have to say,” Anthony replied calmly.
Mitchelle simply smiled and nodded, knowing it was practically impossible for any Supreme Monarch to find Anthony.
“Anyway, I have to get going. I just wanted to see how you were doing. And since you’re busy, let me get out of your hair and allow you to work,” Anthony spoke as he rose to his feet.
“See you the day after tomorrow,” Mitchelle replied with a soft smile as she watched Anthony open a portal and step through it.
As Anthony left, her eyes returned to the documents arranged across her desk. She sighed before continuing right where she had stopped.
Anthony appeared in his room, jumped onto his bed, took out his phone, and logged into his Money God account. Over the past three weeks, he had been far more active than usual, causing widespread surprise among his followers. With that, he started yet another round of online splurging.
Time flew by, and before anyone realized it, the three remaining days had passed. The agreed-upon date scheduled for the Ascension had finally arrived.
