Chapter 1204: Nostalgia
Chapter 1204: Nostalgia
Anthony woke up as always. He had already bathed and sat on his bed as he simply stared into space. Today was the day of the Ascension. He was leaving. Normally, when one spoke or thought of the matter of Ascension, it usually came with happiness or anticipation, but Anthony felt none of that… instead, he felt nostalgic, as though he was leaving a crucial part of himself behind.
But everyone Anthony loved and cared about on the deepest level was ascending with him, so what was he feeling nostalgic about?
The answer was simple; the Blue Planet.
He was reborn here, raised here, fed here, trained here, loved here, fought here, fought over here, protected here.
Anthony was tempted to forcefully ascend with the Blue Planet. It wasn’t beyond his power; he could do that if he wanted to. But he didn’t.
‘I will miss this place,’ Anthony thought to himself.
He wasn’t talking about the Null Estate itself. In that regard, his parents had decided to take it with them as they ascended. To them, the Estate held too many memories they couldn’t afford to simply leave behind. Although Anthony suspected it meant the same to Collins and Irene, but it seemed they couldn’t bring themselves to argue with their son and daughter-in-law over it.
[It’s finally that time, huh?]
The system chimed as ??? spoke.
“It seems so,” Anthony spoke aloud.
[Feels like yesterday that the Unbound wanted to forcefully ascend you]
??? mused as another string of text appeared before Anthony.
‘It seems I’m not the only one feeling nostalgic,’ Anthony thought to himself.
[Looking forward to what I promised you upon Ascension?]
??? asked as the system chimed again.
‘Not really, it’s just that something is occupying my mind at the moment,’ Anthony replied with a soft sigh.
[Who would’ve thought you would miss the Blue Planet as a whole? You truly are the only person who stayed sane or should I say normal after reincarnation]
??? replied as though amused.
Anthony had never asked ??? about the people he had reincarnated before him. He didn’t know if any of them were still alive or if they were all dead. Why should he ask? What would he even do with such information? Go looking for them?
Sorry, but he wasn’t that jobless.
Anthony was about to speak, but it seemed ??? had already anticipated what he was going to say, so he spoke first.
[No need to thank me again for giving you a second chance at life. I know you cherish it. No amount of words you say can ever convey what the heart truly holds. So stop feeling nostalgic and take the next step on your path]
Anthony smiled at ???’s words. He didn’t argue with the man, nor did he reply. He simply nodded.
With that, he rose to his feet, walked out of his room, and headed towards the open hall downstairs. Upon getting there, Anthony could already see the Null Estate maids, butlers, and guards standing in straight lines on both sides as he walked down the middle. They didn’t speak; they simply stood with their backs straight.
Anthony stepped out of the Null Estate, his sky-blue eyes falling upon Michael, Irene, Mitchelle, and Collins. Although they weren’t ascending at the moment, there was no way they wouldn’t come to witness something as miraculous and impossible as this.
They weren’t the only ones. Every Supreme Monarch was present, all of them staring at Anthony with various emotions and thoughts. But envy was the most prevalent among them. Anthony didn’t judge them for it; after all, he had basically lived a near-perfect and stress-free life without any form of complication or setback.
To Anthony, this was true reincarnation.
What was the use of reincarnation if you were going to be thrown into endless battles that you couldn’t walk away from? What was the use of reincarnation if you still suffered, lost family members, and bore more scars than you ever did back on Earth?
These questions were among the reasons he was always grateful to ???. After all, throughout the novels he had read, these main characters never had it as easy as he did. Either their parents died, their grandparents died, or something equally tragic happened, all so they could open their eyes to the cruelties of the world and finally begin training seriously.
But to Anthony, that was just plain stupid writing.
Aside from the Supreme Monarchs, the rulers of every Domain on the Blue Planet were present. Even the heads of the other families ruling the Human Domain were present, such as the Crimson Family, the Lionheart Family, and the Stella Family.
The news had also reached them. It was impossible for it not to. Of course, many more Apexus Mana Rankers wanted to come, but Anthony had declined, he only accepted a few, no more than ten.
Behind these Domain Rulers stood Bryan, Tiara, Bringer, and Rider. Anthony simply nodded in their direction and said nothing more.
“Are you ready, son?” Mitchelle asked.
Anthony simply nodded, and with a wave of his hand, a portal tore open, linking to another planet. Anthony gazed at the maids, butlers, and guards, who were now bowing in his direction without uttering a single word due to the presence of so many world powerhouses.
Anthony smiled before stepping through the portal without wasting any more time. The moment he did, the rest of the powerhouses eagerly followed behind him like ants drawn to sugar.
Anthony arrived before a planet teeming with life, where countless lush trees stretched in every direction. Oceans extended endlessly as well, their crystal-blue surfaces reflecting the sky above. The planet was perfect, but it didn’t possess any intelligent life forms yet.
As everyone stepped out of the portal, it closed behind them.
At this moment, Aaaninja, Lucian, Aura Nova, Kingsley, Vega, and all of Anthony’s subordinates were already present. Anthony wasn’t the only one who had come with people who wanted to witness such a scene, for to everyone, this was no different from the greatest secret of the Lower Galaxy.
Aaaninja came with his parents, grandparents, and other powerhouses from the Celestial Race, a few Anthony recognized and a few he didn’t. Aura Nova came with Charles Evander, Bills, and several powerhouses from the Dusk Planet. Lucian also came with his parents and grandparents, who had likewise brought a few powerhouses. As for Kingsley, he came alone… he was a man who had been alone from the very beginning, and that still hadn’t changed.
Anthony was sure that Aaaninja and Lucian had tried convincing their parents to ascend with them. But it seemed their parents and grandparents, despite being tempted by the idea, had chosen to stay behind, as none of them wished to become burdens to their own descendants.
Anthony didn’t find Veronica or Altheria. He didn’t need to think to know they were already hidden within the Mirror Dimension.
As for Vega, only Amara and Klaus came, as there was no one else to bring.
All in all… almost a hundred people were present at such a moment. Even the Spirit King and a few old friends of his were present. Although they could hide their presence from many of the powerhouses gathered there, Anthony saw them as clearly as day.
But he didn’t speak to any of them. Instead, he simply walked towards his friends and subordinates, the people he was supposed to ascend with.
