Chapter 1217: Revelation
Chapter 1217: Revelation
Seeing that Anthony was never going to speak first, The Sword Ruler spoke calmly.
“It seems the Acarnis Galaxy remains well, given that the Spirit King is still very much alive and was able to pass down the wooden talisman after all these years,” his tone remained calm.
Before Anthony could speak, the talisman shot out from his pocket and flew toward The Sword Ruler before vanishing into the space ring on one of his fingers.
“Thank you for the help… and for coming,” Anthony spoke calmly as blood continued to pour from his body, yet he didn’t even react to it.
Although he remained cautious, it didn’t mean he couldn’t at least thank the man. That was simply basic respect and decency.
The Sword Ruler shook his head as he spoke, “I’m surprised you decided to use the wooden talisman. Any intelligent person would have assumed it was some sort of trap or something similar. What made you use it?” he asked.
Anthony remained silent for a moment before replying, “The Will of the Acarnis Galaxy convinced me to. I hadn’t planned on using it.”
The Sword Ruler smiled faintly before nodding, “It couldn’t have fallen into more perfect hands.”
Anthony nodded his head as he spoke, “My name is Null Anthony,” his tone calm.
“You may call me The Sword Ruler,” The Sword Ruler replied.
Anthony remained silent for a moment before speaking, “I don’t mean to sound disrespectful, but isn’t it possible to hear your real name?”
He remembered the System hiding the man’s name, citing the fact that he could only learn it after ascending to an Upper Galaxy.
The Sword Ruler remained silent for a brief moment before replying, “Within this Upper Galaxy, titles are no different from true names. It is what everyone knows each other by. Even those four who ran away don’t know my real name and possess their own titles,” his tone becoming almost educational. “But I suppose you’ll understand all of that once you catch up on many things.”
He paused briefly before asking, “but… do you seriously not recognize me?”
Anthony was confused. How was he supposed to recognize the man before him? He was certain he had never seen him before. After all, he possessed a perfect memory and could never forget anything he had ever seen or heard.
“Sorry… I’m lost here,” Anthony replied, genuinely seeking some clarity.
“So you’ve never seen a picture of me? Or read my records? Or even entered the Tomb of the Forgotten?” The Sword Ruler asked.
Anthony shook his head, as he didn’t even know what any of that actually meant.
The Sword Ruler arched an eyebrow in surprise before releasing an unknown force of connection.
Anthony, who had been standing still, immediately felt something within him stir. His Bloodline began to react and resonate with the man standing before him. His eyes widened in utter shock as he never could have anticipated the revelation that had just occurred.
“How can you not recognize your own Founding Patriarch?” The Sword Ruler spoke with a sigh.
“I am Null Nathaniel, Founder and the first Patriarch of the Null Family of the Acarnis Galaxy,” The Sword Ruler stated.
Anthony’s eyes nearly exploded from shock, his mind reeling from the revelation. He couldn’t believe what was happening right before his very eyes. He had actually stumbled upon the Founder of the Null Family.
What were the odds?
To Anthony, this seemed utterly impossible. It almost felt as though some greater hand was at play behind the scenes. He couldn’t help but suspect this was ???’s doing. After all, he had stepped into the Upper Galaxy without a backer, yet one had practically fallen into his lap. But after thinking about it for a moment, he shook his head. ??? wasn’t one to interfere with anything aside from giving rewards, abilities, or simply chatting whenever he felt like it.
‘No wonder The Will of Acarnis advised me to use the wooden talisman. He knew all along,’ Anthony immediately concluded, his thoughts proving correct.
This was the true reason The Sword Ruler would have interfered regardless of whatever decision Anthony made. After all, he couldn’t simply allow one of his own descendants to sign away his soul. He hadn’t known it was a descendant of his who had Ascended until he laid eyes upon Anthony, a realization that had greatly shocked him.
After all, he had visited the Acarnis Galaxy a few years ago, yet no one within the Null Family possessed enough talent to cultivate within the Upper Galaxy.
But of course, he had still wanted to test Anthony and judge him with his own eyes, which was precisely why he hadn’t interfered from the very beginning. And although he hadn’t admitted it aloud yet, The Sword Ruler was genuinely impressed.
This young descendant was almost as impressive as he himself had once been.
Null Nathaniel wasn’t surprised that Anthony hadn’t sensed their Bloodline connection until he personally established it. After all, he was the Founder, not Anthony.
The Sword Ruler sighed before walking forward as he spoke, “Let’s get you healed first. Then we can talk about the Null Family.”
He walked forward with calm, measured steps before placing a hand upon Anthony’s shoulder. The very next moment, Anthony felt whatever restrictive force had been suppressing his regeneration vanish instantly. In response, his regenerative abilities activated immediately as broken bones snapped back into place one after another, flesh rapidly knitted together, and his severed left arm regenerated completely within moments.
Seeing Anthony fully healed once more, The Sword Ruler immediately spoke.
“So, tell me about the Null Family. Who’s the Patriarch or Matriarch now? The two-hundredth? Is it a man or a woman? What happened to the Tomb of the Forgotten? Has the Null Family fallen? What about the Demons? Were they responsible for the Null Family’s decline?” The man fired off one question after another like a Gatling gun, not giving Anthony even the slightest opportunity to answer in between.
Anthony couldn’t help but think to himself that they should probably leave this place first. After all, what if those four Lords decided to arrive before they did?
He stared at The Sword Ruler. Despite the man having Ascended unknown numbers of years ago, he still remained deeply concerned about the fate of the Null Family.
Truly… he was the Founding Patriarch.
