MIGHT AS WELL BE OP

Chapter 1218: Realm Division

Chapter 1218: Realm Division

Although Null Nathaniel asked all these questions, there was one problem… Anthony knew absolutely nothing.

He had no answers for the man standing before him.

As for why he had no answers, the explanation was rather simple. Anthony had never exactly trained to one day inherit the position of Patriarch. He had never read any of the Null family’s historical records, nor had he searched for any Tomb of the Forgotten, which Anthony guessed probably served as the burial grounds of the previous Patriarchs and Matriarchs of the Null family, assuming they had even left behind bodies or corpses after their deaths.

Anthony had simply never seen the need to investigate anything or delve deeply into his family’s history. Firstly, this wasn’t a royal succession where he had to compete with countless siblings for a throne. Secondly, he had already discovered that his father was the Sword Saint, his grandfather was the Lightning God, and his mother was the Elemental Witch of Destruction. With a family backing as overwhelming as that, why would he feel the need to spend his time studying old family records?

All in all, it was simply because there had never been any sort of family conflict or bloodline drama. Anthony had, for the most part, enjoyed a remarkably easy life in that regard.

He sighed before beginning to explain everything to the Founder. Anthony spoke about his parents, his grandparents, and everything else that had happened over the years. As he continued speaking, he noticed the worry that had lingered upon the seemingly invincible man’s face gradually disappearing, replaced instead by visible relief.

“So, the Null family is leaving the Acarnis Galaxy in its entirety,” The Sword Ruler spoke with a faint smile before releasing a quiet sigh as he reflected upon just how far the Null family had come over the countless passing years.

“It seems I have to visit the Null family again,” The Sword Ruler stated after a brief moment of contemplation.

Anthony couldn’t help but feel stunned. After all, he had already told the man that his family had received their Calling, meaning they were already preparing for Ascension. It was obvious the Founder intended to find his parents and grandparents before they began their Ascension process and disappeared into various Upper Galaxies, where they might become slaves under someone else’s control.

The moment that thought crossed Anthony’s mind, he immediately froze.

He suddenly couldn’t help but wonder how his friends intended to survive against those slave traders if all of their abilities would be weakened until they completely adapted to the Upper Galaxy.

After thinking about it for a few moments, however, he simply shook his head. There was little point dwelling on it. He believed every single one of them would survive. And they would.

But still… there was one question he had to ask.

“Are these spawn points and slave contracts present in other Upper Galaxies as well?” Anthony asked, even though he could already make an educated guess as to what the answer would be.

“I can’t speak for every Upper Galaxy that exists,” The Sword Ruler answered truthfully, “but I’ve personally visited nine Upper Galaxies aside from my own. Out of those nine, eight followed the same system of enslaving newly Ascended individuals.”

Anthony silently nodded to himself, ‘it appears that travelling between different Upper Galaxies is very much possible. Otherwise, the Founder wouldn’t have spoken about visiting so many of them with such casual familiarity.’ Anthony thought to himself as he noted that down.

“Although I don’t know when you plan to leave and return to the Acarnis Galaxy, all I can say is that my parents don’t want me interfering,” Anthony said. “We already know about the Ascension loophole, and I originally planned to bring them along with me. However, they decided they wanted a couples-only adventure instead.” His tone calm.

“So you will simply watch them become slaves?” Null Nathaniel asked, his calm blue eyes remaining fixed upon Anthony.

“I simply believe in their abilities and their adaptability,” Anthony replied with a gentle shake of his head.

The Sword Ruler remained silent for a few moments before slowly nodding, a faint smile gradually appearing upon his face. Although it would likely be a very long time before he saw more of his descendants again, merely knowing they were alive was already enough to satisfy him.

“How old are you?” The Sword Ruler suddenly asked.

“Twenty,” Anthony answered.

His reply caused The Sword Ruler to freeze completely, his piercing blue eyes locked onto Anthony as though he intended to cut apart every trace of falsehood with nothing more than his gaze.

“I really am twenty. I’m simply… outrageously talented, which is why my situation is rather unique,” Anthony added with a polite smile.

For several long moments, The Sword Ruler neither spoke nor moved, as though he were staring directly at an impossibility that defied every ounce of logic he had accumulated throughout his years of existence.

Finally, Null Nathaniel moved. He turned around on his heel and vanished with a single step.

Anthony didn’t hesitate in the slightest. Origin Essence immediately cloaked his body as he vanished from where he stood at full speed, effortlessly closing the distance between himself and the Founder despite the astonishing pace at which the latter was travelling.

“Where are we going?” Anthony asked as he looked at the Founder, inwardly amazed by the speed the man achieved with nothing more than an ordinary step.

“My sect,” The Sword Ruler answered calmly.

“As we make our way there, I will begin introducing the Upper Galaxy to you,” he continued with the same composed demeanor.

‘Sects and Clans… Did I somehow ascend into some Murim-style universe?’ Anthony thought to himself.

“The name of our Galaxy is the Ecliptica Galaxy,” The Sword Ruler began his explanation. “Although the concept of planets still exists, many people prefer using the term ‘Realm.’ Within our Realm, there exists both the Upper Realm and the Lower Realm. Mortals primarily inhabit the Lower Realm, and once they reach a sufficiently high Cultivation Rank, they are able to transition into the Upper Realm.”

He paused briefly before continuing.

“Those from the Lower Realm don’t undergo any examinations or trials of any kind like the Ascension. All they have to do is answer their Calling, and the Ecliptica Galaxy itself will bring them into the Upper Realm. Furthermore, those born within our Galaxy don’t appear at the Ascension Point after answering their Calling. After all, they didn’t ascend from a Lower Galaxy, they are our own people by birth and by existence. Because of that, they are simply teleported near the location of a random Sect or Clan upon their arrival.”

Null Nathaniel spoke without the slightest hint of impatience, deliberately pacing every explanation and allowing Anthony enough time to fully understand every word that left his lips.

Anthony did nothing but listen with rapt attention to The Sword Ruler, as the man simply reduced his speed to match Anthony’s.
