Chapter 1225: System Back Online
Chapter 1225: System Back Online
With that, Anthony and The Decipherer Of The Heavens walked towards the Heavenly Library with calm steps.
As Anthony walked, he noticed that a few disciples simply glanced at him before looking away. They didn’t even glance in The Decipherer Of The Heavens’ direction, nor did they bow to the man as they had done with The Sword Ruler. It was as though the title of Core Elder wasn’t all that prestigious or high, but Anthony knew that wasn’t the case.
‘It seems I need to read more about this Null Sect,’ Anthony mused to himself.
“It’s not that they don’t respect me or that the status of the Core Elders is low. It’s simply that, at this moment, I’m using one of my abilities to hide myself, so only you and anyone else I wish can see me,” The Decipherer Of The Heavens said.
The moment The Decipherer Of The Heavens spoke, Anthony froze, his eyes turning towards him.
“You can read my mind?” he asked.
To Anthony, this was a first. The System usually protected his mind, but with it currently in an upgrading state, it seemed that his mind was finally free for anyone to pry into.
“I can’t,” The Decipherer Of The Heavens replied. “I should be able to, but I can’t for some unknown reason, and judging from your reaction, I’m guessing you know the reason. If I were able to read your mind, I wouldn’t have asked what Lower Galaxy you came from or the name of the Lower Galaxy you were looking for.” He finished with a slight shake of his head.
Anthony didn’t speak. He remained silent, as though he knew there was more the man wasn’t saying.
“As my title, The Decipherer Of The Heavens, suggests, I can decipher a great many things. It is through this ability that I’m able to read minds. But since I can’t read yours, I’m only able to decipher what you’re curious about or what questions you have to an extraordinary degree,” the man added, sounding rather proud of his own ability.
Anthony nodded as he mumbled, “I see…”
With that, they stepped into the Heavenly Library. The moment Anthony entered, an enormous space unfolded before him, filled with an absurd number of bookshelves, each packed with countless books. Although Anthony had visited many libraries before, this was the first time he had ever seen one of such immense scale.
“I greet the Third Core Elder, The Decipherer Of The Heavens,” the Heavenly Library guardian said as he immediately rose to his feet the moment his eyes landed upon the Third Core Elder.
“Don’t mind us. We’ll browse for now, and I’ll show him around,” The Decipherer Of The Heavens said as he waved his hand and walked past the man.
The Library Guardian couldn’t help but wonder who Anthony was and just how high his status must be to be personally guided by a Core Elder, especially the Third Core Elder.
Anthony noticed various disciples reading with absolute concentration. Even when people walked through the Heavenly Library, their footsteps made no sound, as though even the slightest noise could shatter everyone’s focus. Seeing this, Anthony silently suppressed the sound of his own footsteps.
“Each floor of the Heavenly Library contains different levels of knowledge. For example, the first five floors contain only basic martial techniques, while from the sixth to the tenth floors, you can find books that provide deeper insights into Laws,” The Decipherer Of The Heavens began explaining the Heavenly Library.
He then allowed Anthony to walk around on his own for a while.
“I would have allowed you to browse through a few books, but you’ll have time for that tomorrow after the tests. Right now, I’ll go show you your cottage,” The Decipherer said, his voice low.
Anthony nodded, and together they walked away, heading in another direction. Anthony familiarized himself with every path they took. After walking for a few minutes, they arrived at what seemed to be an isolated area containing a large cottage and an immense open space.
“Isn’t this place reserved for you Core Elders?” Anthony asked, as he knew that even those disciples known as the Aboves didn’t live here.
“It is, but we have over a thousand residences, and we can’t possibly use all of them,” The Decipherer Of The Heavens replied. “Besides, you are the first descendant of the Sect Master to ascend in many years, so it’s only natural that he would give you the best,” he added.
Anthony nodded. He wasn’t about to reject the house. Hell, he intended to accept every opportunity his Ancestor and Founder threw his way. Why would he reject any of them? Pride? That would simply be foolish.
“A servant will be assigned to you within the next couple of hours after one has been properly vetted. They will clean your house and attend to your errands and daily needs,” The Decipherer Of The Heavens said. “Would you prefer a male or female servant?”
“Any guy will do,” Anthony replied without the slightest change in expression.
Just as The Decipherer Of The Heavens was about to turn and leave, Anthony asked, “Can you tell me what tomorrow’s test is about?”
“Nothing too serious. We’ll simply test which Laws you possess affinities for, measure your talent, and determine whether you possess any hidden Physique, Bloodline, or something similar,” The Decipherer Of The Heavens replied.
“If I possessed any special Physique or Bloodline, we would have known back in the Lower Galaxy,” Anthony replied as he arched an eyebrow.
The Decipherer Of The Heavens shook his head before replying, “You were limited by your class in the Lower Galaxy. Now you are not, so expect new discoveries,” he answered before vanishing.
Anthony shook his head, knowing there was no need to expect anything, as he had never truly been limited. He walked into his cottage. The interior was spacious, to say the least. It wasn’t extravagantly designed or decorated. The walls were plain white, and the building contained nothing beyond the essential furnishings.
As Anthony entered the master bedroom, the cottage contained five bedrooms, the System chimed.
[Ding]
[The System is back online.]
Anthony immediately stopped in his tracks, a wide smile appearing on his face as he sat down on the bed and instantly immersed himself in the System’s newly unlocked functions.
