Chapter 1240: I understand
Chapter 1240: I understand
The entire hall stood in another silence as they stared at Anthony, who had just matched The Slumbering Storm with ease and had even had the upper hand at one point. To them, even if Anthony possessed an outrageous Physique and Bloodline, neither should have granted him such extraordinary combat experience.
His entire existence baffled them to the very core. Even the Sect Master was surprised, as he hadn’t expected Anthony to display this much experience. After all, it was greater than what he had shown against the previous four he had faced.
But what Nathaniel failed to consider was that Anthony hadn’t fought them on equal grounds. If he possessed as much power, or even if he were just two steps below them in cultivation, he would have wiped the floor with all four of them.
The Slumbering Storm stared at Anthony for a moment before withdrawing her hand, which was just inches away from Anthony’s chest.
“Welcome to the Null Sect,” she stated, then turned and walked back to her former position before she had stepped forward for the spar.
At her words, the rest of the Core Elders and Nathaniel snapped back to reality as The Slumbering Storm’s words brought them back to their senses.
“As The Slumbering Storm said, welcome to the Null Sect. We’ve conducted all the tests, and I don’t need to mention the kind of impossible performance you’ve put on,” The Punisher began to speak.
Anthony merely nodded and said nothing as he walked back to the position he had occupied before the spar started. With a thought, the Rune Formation shattered as The Slumbering Storm returned to her peak, and all of Anthony’s skills and abilities that had been sealed were unsealed.
“But an issue has arisen,” The Punisher continued. “With the amount of talent you possess, you can’t be an Outer Disciple, Inner Disciple, or Core Disciple. You are meant to be among The Above Disciples, but your cultivation rank is too low…” he explained calmly.
Anthony arched an eyebrow. “So there is a cultivation requirement?” he asked.
“Not exactly. The real requirement is possessing a certain grade of Physique, Bloodline, or special bone. Although there is no requirement for cultivation rank, it’s sort of an unspoken understanding among everyone that The Above Disciples are more powerful than every other disciple. You joining them changes that, as you have just stepped onto the path of cultivation and don’t even have any Laws under your belt,” he explained with a sigh.
Anthony stayed silent for a moment. He knew that in the Ecliptica Galaxy, cultivation ranks weren’t exactly the main focus, as people could eventually reach the Eternal Apex cultivation rank, which was the highest cultivation rank, provided they cultivated long enough. Laws were different, however, taking an even more ridiculous amount of time depending on which Law one was practicing.
Laws like the Law of Flames could take a few decwdes instead of centuries to comprehend to one hundred percent by geniuses.
“What is the cultivation rank of the strongest person, and what is the highest level of Law comprehended?” Anthony asked calmly without a change in expression.
The Core Elders and Nathaniel couldn’t understand why Anthony was asking, but they still replied.
“The strongest Above Disciple is at the Perfection Firmament Rank. He has comprehended five Minor Laws to completion, is halfway through two Greater Laws, and is on his way to comprehending a Unique Law and a Universal Law to ten percent,” The Punisher spoke with unmistakable pride. “It is said that he is only at the Perfection Firmament Rank simply because he spends most of his time comprehending Laws. If he didn’t, his cultivation rank would have been much higher,” he explained.
Anthony could feel the pride in The Punisher’s voice.
According to what he had read in the Heavenly Library, some cultivation ranks granted innate abilities. For example, at the Astraforge Rank, one gained the innate ability to fly. At the Empyrean Rank, one became immune to almost all poisons. And the best? The Eternal Regent Rank, which granted one the ability to willingly have a child, meaning cultivators no longer had to try for years because of their own overwhelming combat power. Then, at the Eternal Apex Rank, one became a Pseudo Higher Entity, although it wasn’t explained what that truly meant.
‘That guy probably has some immense comprehension ability,’ Anthony thought to himself. Truly, the guy was outrageously talented to be comprehending Laws as though they were nothing. Him possessing a comprehension type ability stemming from either his Bloodline or whatever unique trait he possessed was the only explanation.
“I understand,” Anthony replied, and without a shred of hesitation, he activated Thought Conception. He shifted his thoughts to his cultivation rank and simply willed himself to reach the highest cultivation rank he could attain without any mental drawback or strain.
The moment he thought that, Anthony’s body released an incomprehensible amount of Origin Essence that shook the entire building. The next moment, an enormous amount of Origin Essence flowed from the area reserved for the Core Elders and into Anthony’s core at an outrageous speed.
Foundation Starseed → Ascension Starseed → Perfection Starseed.
With that, his cultivation rank rose at an outrageous pace.
Foundation Skyforge → Starheart → Aetherborn → Heavensoul → Astraforge → Firmament → Perfection Star Monarch.
When Anthony was about to break through into the Foundation Empyrean Rank, his progress halted the next moment as Thought Conception had done the most it could without weighing heavily on Anthony’s mind. After all, each rise in cultivation rank was simply outrageous due to the immense difference in power between each major realm.
Anthony wasn’t bothered by that. The strongest Above Disciple was at the Perfection Firmament Rank, while he was now a whole major rank above the guy.
Anthony’s eyes flickered open. He felt outrageously more powerful. With his current strength, he felt as though he could destroy more than half of the Acarnis Galaxy with a single punch without even putting much effort into it.
One had to know that just because Anthony was at the Perfection Star Monarch Rank didn’t mean those at the same rank, or even above it, could match him. With his Beginning Of All Things Physique and Bloodline, he could suppress people even above him in terms of cultivation rank.
But alas, that mattered less within the Upper Galaxy, where what mattered most was the level of the Laws one had comprehended, as with them, one could close the gap between themselves and their opponents.
To explain Laws in simple terms, think of them as glitches within reality itself, something that helped you defy the established rules of existence, almost like a virus rewriting reality.
For example, five hundred degree flames could burn a tree, and when met with a water based technique of similar power, those flames would naturally be quenched. However, if Law was added to those same five hundred degree flames, they could become unquenchable, burn space itself, and even cause devastation enough to wipe out an entire city, all depending on the power behind the Law infused into the attack.
Such was the power of Laws and why people focused so much on them despite their outrageous difficulty.
