Chapter 1291: The Silent Drop

Chapter 1291: The Silent Drop

The entire carriage was filled with absolute silence as nobody could believe what they had just heard. They couldn’t help but doubt their own eyes, even Chaos Betroth stood with her eyes wide open as they trembled within her eye sockets, her expression betraying the shock that had momentarily overcome her usual composure.

Yes, the Null Sect had never had a Pseudo-Higher Entity within the Sect, but that was understandable, it was just a new Sect, a baby Sect that was less than a thousand years old, and the fact that it even had six beings at the Progenitor Rank was already generous enough.

If they added an Eternal Apex Rank to the Sect, then that changed everything. It would immediately alter the position of the Null Sect within the Hellinder Realm, making them far more noticeable than they already were.

As the thought stayed in their heads, Chaos Betroth immediately stepped forward and spoke.

"As the Core Elder of the Null Sect, I, and on the authority of the Sect Master, The Sword Ruler, we reject your offer, Higher One," her voice calm, yet a bit edged.

While anyone would accept a Pseudo-Higher Entity with open arms, taking one from another force was pure stupidity and insanity unless you had the power to match such a force. For example, if the Higher One before them were to enter the Null Sect, she would personally not suffer any losses, after all, nobody would want to waste resources fighting an Eternal Apex.

But them, the Null Sect, they would be wiped out by the River Of Night by tomorrow morning. The River Of Night wasn’t called an Ancient Organization for nothing, Chaos Betroth herself didn’t particularly know how many Eternal Apex they even had, and the fact that they were using someone of such caliber to guard their gates and to maintain order meant they definitely had more than two of such beings.

That was not a force Chaos Betroth was willing to provoke. If Anthony were any random person, Chaos Betroth might have thought about compromising by making the disciple leave the Sect and join the River Of Night Organization, that way, everyone wins. It would have been the safest choice for everyone involved, and the Null Sect could have avoided attracting the hostility of an Ancient Organization, even gaining their favour instead.

Although she was a lover of battle and didn’t know the meaning of fear, it didn’t mean she would jeopardize and risk everyone’s lives for her own amusement and attunement with the Universal Law Of Chaos.

Yelena’s calm blue eyes turned to Chaos Betroth as she stayed silent for a moment. She understood why Chaos Betroth had rejected, after all, Chaos Betroth’s fear was exactly what had happened in the past whenever a Higher One changed forces, unless the force or organization the Higher One left had only them, or just one more person left. That way, while there would be losses here and there, it would be so minor that it couldn’t be compared to the gain called a Higher One.

Yelena stayed silent for a moment, her eyes then turned to Anthony, who simply shook his head. She wanted to suggest that he leave the Null Sect, but she knew that would never happen, after all, from what she had read from these Above disciples’ memories, she knew that Anthony was the Sect Master’s direct descendant who had just ascended.

’To think that he already reached this level in just a week after Ascending. My Eyes truly are never wrong,’ Yelena thought to herself.

As for the River Of Night Organization not accepting Anthony if he accepted to go back with her, that wouldn’t be possible even if he didn’t possess resonance with Water Law or any other related Laws. She was a Higher One, and there were a few rules she could break without care. Her position alone was enough to ensure that Anthony wouldn’t be treated like an ordinary disciple if he entered the organization under her protection.

As for kidnapping Anthony or trying to mess with his mind, Yelena wasn’t that stupid or dumb. Yes, as an Eternal Apex, she was used to getting whatever she wanted, but she knew that force wouldn’t work on everything and all things.

Like now, for example. Such acts would do more harm than good. After all, this was an opportunity that was supposed to take her above and beyond. It was best to take things slow and steady, after all, she didn’t get here by rushing at every opportunity she saw or trying to force her way through it.

"I understand your stance, Chaos Betroth, Null Anthony," Yelena finally spoke, "and as for my title, I’m The Silent Drop," she stated.

The next moment, what seemed to be a wooden talisman appeared in her hand, she tossed it to Anthony, who simply caught it.

"If you ever need my help for anything, and I mean anything," she stressed, "channel your Origin Essence into the talisman and I will be there, even if I’m in seclusion," she stated.

At her words, everyone was speechless yet again, they stared at the wooden talisman in Anthony’s hand. This was no different from a second life to everyone present, after all, from this moment onwards, Anthony now possessed a trump card.

"Thank you for your time," The Silent Drop stated in finality.

"It was an honor, Yelena," Anthony replied respectfully as he cupped his fist in a bow of respect.

The Silent Drop nodded then vanished from where she stood, her body appearing above the Wall once more as though she had never left to begin with.

The moment she left, the Above disciples immediately heaved a sigh of relief as they all immediately rose from their kneeling positions and sat on their chairs once more.

One was meant to kneel to all Higher Ones, no matter what Race or Organization they were from. It was a universal sign of respect. It was not something that could simply be ignored, regardless of one’s own status or strength, because a Higher One stood at an entirely different level of existence.

Anthony stared at the wooden talisman in his hand, then looked toward the insignia of the River Of Night Organization, which could be seen on the high Wall, as the Wall possessed flags bearing their insignia. Without much thought, Anthony simply threw the talisman into his system inventory.

Although Anthony thought that he might never use it, one could never be too sure. Especially in places like the Hellinder Realm and Ecliptica Upper Galaxy, where countless dangers existed and powerful beings could appear without warning.

But just because The Silent Drop was gone didn’t mean that silence returned to the carriage. It didn’t, as the Above disciples started speaking once more.
