Chapter 1376: Recurring Theme
Chapter 1376: Recurring Theme
But none of them were able to make a move despite knowing Anthony’s current location.
Why?
Anthony’s airship was simply too fast for them to follow endlessly. They needed him to land or stop before they pounced upon him. Be it at the Null Sect, nobody would have any trouble infiltrating such a Sect.
As for the people who cashed out on this? They were merchants, obviously. Using the sky-high morale people possessed to kill Anthony, many merchants increased the price of assassination-type equipment and the likes, or anything that could increase the chances of killing Anthony.
After all, anyone who killed him would gain immense prestige, aside from the already promised payment from the bounty.
And as for these Ancient Organizations and Territories going back on their words after promising them rewards, nobody was worried about that, as they knew these Organizations would pay. And as for why these Organizations didn’t just kill whoever killed Anthony and prevent handing out any reward, it was simply because they all cared about their reputation and face.
No matter how powerful they became, how much stronger their Organization was, or how large it expanded, they were all still slaves to their reputation and wouldn’t want anything to stain it.
After all, it was their image and reputation that brought geniuses and resources in.
As for anyone who actually attacked Anthony when he got to the Null Sect, one could only say a prayer for them and hope they don’t do anything so daring in their next lives.
And funnily, many people were already gathered around the Null Sect Floating City, simply waiting for Anthony to arrive, as some were nearer than Anthony was.
Anthony could be seen lying down on the deck, basking under the sun. His eyes were closed as though he was sleeping, but he wasn’t. At this moment, Anthony already knew that there was a bounty on his head. Although he never left this airship, he didn’t need to leave to know anything.
Although the Null Sect could be suffering at this moment, Anthony was sure they were fine as he kept Authority Of Information active to keep tabs on them until he got back.
But, although the Null Sect wasn’t exactly suffering, that didn’t mean they didn’t have any issues on hand. At this moment, various businesses had cut off supplies, bringing many things to a halt.
The Null Sect wasn’t surprised; they weren’t strangers to what Anthony had done. How could the news spread across the entire Sathor Grand Region and not reach them? It was simply impossible.
So, nobody cared. They had enough food in storage to last them for a long time. Besides, they didn’t need to eat as much or as often as normal people. All they wanted was for their champions to come home and maybe, just maybe, the rewards from The Lover Of Death’s vault could reach them.
As Anthony lay with his eyes closed, he suddenly opened them ever so slowly as he sensed something. The next moment, a door opened, and through the door, Chaos Betroth stepped out with a smile on her face.
Although Anthony didn’t turn to her, he could see her and sense her emotions, which read as utter satisfaction and happiness.
"It seems your training went well, Chaos Betroth."
He stated as he remained on the floor.
"It was substantial."
Chaos Betroth replied, failing to properly hide her proud smirk. After all, after years of stillness, she had finally progressed.
Although her Universal Law Of Chaos was already at fifty-seven percent after increasing by six percent during her battle, during her one-week seclusion, it had increased by one percent, pushing it to fifty-eight percent.
So she was extremely happy and proud.
At her words, Anthony simply nodded and said nothing more, as he had nothing to say to the woman.
After Chaos Betroth came out, the rest of the Above disciples followed, each of them stretching as they stepped out, each of them carrying smiles on their faces as they had made quite the progress.
Seeing them come out, Anthony shifted from his lying position to a seated position as he spoke.
"It seems I’m the only one who didn’t make any gains during this battle. And this seems to be a recurring theme."
Anthony spoke aloud as he gazed ahead.
He remembered when even from the Omni Peak Academy, after a battle, others would have gains, like the twin Storm Titan brothers, but he gained nothing. Even during the Starborn Galaxy competition, he gained nothing. After the Galaxy-wide Conquest War, where he defeated the Demon King and False God together, he gained nothing.
He shook his head, not bothering about it as he knew he was simply too overpowered to gain from these people.
"Aren’t you being a little too greedy?"
Jerry asked as he came to a stop beside Anthony with his hands in his pockets. His expression was flat as he confronted Anthony on his greedy nature.
"You wiped out the Eternal Apexes and expected to gain something? What could you possibly gain when they are no different from mobs to you?"
He paused for a moment, then added.
"You gaining anything is like me fighting a Starseed cultivator and complaining that I didn’t gain any insights. If you want to gain any insight, it’s probably best you just fight beings that are beyond our Galaxy."
He advised with a heavy sigh and a tired expression.
Anthony gave a weak smile but said nothing, as he knew Jerry’s words were the truth.
"Let’s forget about that."
Anthony spoke as he shook his head, his eyes shifting to meet Jerry as he continued.
"Are you ready to become a real-life celebrity? After all, after participating in this battle, I’m sure everyone knows of your achievements."
He asked with a small smile.
Jerry stayed silent for a moment, then shrugged as he spoke in an indifferent tone.
"We were famous within the sect as Above disciples. This is no different from that."
Anthony stayed silent for a moment, then nodded with a smile. His eyes tore away from Jerry as he focused on the road ahead.
An hour passed until they finally arrived at the Null Sect’s Floating City.
