Chapter 1399: Summoned
Chapter 1399: Summoned
Seeing them nod, Anthony stopped pressing them about the gifts, as he was simply teasing them and had never needed the gifts to begin with.
"So, how are you guys doing? Enjoying your points?"
He asked with a calm expression as his hands moved towards the drinks on the table, placing one before himself before taking a sip.
"The Sect Master and the Core Elders really do work fast. We’ve already received our points about five hours ago. Although it’s half the value of each item we brought back, it’s still something, as we weren’t meant to get any at all and were only supposed to gain anything from the original ten percent we were allowed to keep."
Chu Feng stated as he leaned back into his seat, his eyes shifting towards the space ring on his finger. Although he had a Higher Existence as his mentor, this mentor of his could only provide techniques and guidance. Aside from that, Chu Feng had to acquire other things on his own.
After all, one couldn’t expect a hald-dead Higher Existence to pull some cultivation pill out of thin air, right?
Anthony arched an eyebrow and raised a hand, causing his own Above Disciple token to appear, but the points displayed on it were still zero. He hadn’t received his own points yet.
Although he had accumulated an insane amount of points from fighting the Core and Inner Disciples who challenged him, he had given all those points to Jarod, as he had never needed them.
"I haven’t gotten mine..." Anthony stated as the Above Disciple token vanished from his hand.
Tory Hale shook his head as he spoke.
"And don’t expect to receive them for another week. After all, the treasures you brought back were simply too much. I think the Sect Master and Core Elders would prioritize getting them into the Sect Vault first before anything else."
He explained, his reasoning logical.
Hearing Tory’s words, Anthony simply nodded, as that made sense. Unlike him, who had just thrown the treasures into the open, the Sect Master and Core Elders wouldn’t be able to do that.
"Anyway, what plans do you guys have now?"
Anthony asked, his attention shifting towards his drink once more.
Jerry, who had been eating a snack served by Jarod, spoke without looking up.
"We all plan to begin our seclusion tomorrow. Today is simply a day of rest before we begin, although how long each of us spends in seclusion varies according to our individual needs."
He stated as he examined the contents of the snack, like he wanted to bake it from scratch when he returned to his own mountain.
Anthony remained silent for a moment before nodding. Some of them would spend months in various Law Lands, while others would spend a couple of weeks working on their techniques. Some would simply focus on cultivation and other related activities.
And with the amount of Contribution Points they had accumulated, none of them would be leaving the Sect for a while.
Although they could have started their seclusion today, Anthony guessed that each of them might have missed the Sect and simply wanted to relax for the day before returning to their cultivation and training.
As Anthony was discussing things with the Above Disciples, Jarod knocked on the door twice before opening it and stepping inside.
"Sorry for the intrusion, my Lord, but a Core Elder has arrived with a message. The Sect Master summons you to the Sect Master Hall."
Anthony turned his head in Jarod’s direction. He simply nodded and said nothing in response. Jarod stepped back and closed the door once more.
"I hope I’m not being called for a Core Elder meeting. I hate meetings."
Anthony sighed heavily. He had already made it clear that he didn’t want to be involved in these things, yet, less than twenty-four hours after becoming the Sixth Core Elder, he was already being summoned.
"You know that everybody within the Sect would kill to be in your position, right?"
Lora Vake asked, as becoming a Core Elder was one of her goals.
"Then they should kill me for it," Anthony replied flatly as he shook his head.
Lora Vake stared at him but said nothing in response to his reply.
"It seems our meeting will be ending here,"
Anthony continued as he rose to his feet.
The rest of the Above Disciples mirrored his movement as they, too, rose to their feet. They had only come to congratulate him and didn’t have anything important to discuss.
"I will escort you guys out," Anthony said as he walked towards the door.
Opening the door, he stepped outside and reached the lawn as the other Above Disciples walked beside him. They exchanged small talk as he led them down the mountain path. Upon reaching the foot of the mountain, Anthony bade them farewell and watched them head towards their respective mountains.
With a thought, he vanished from where he stood, his figure reappearing in front of the Sect Master Hall. He didn’t bother changing out of his hoodie and baggy sweatpants, as there was simply no need. The Core Elders didn’t have a dress code like the other Elders and Disciples, but they still dressed to match their status as Core Elders.
Anthony opened the door with a thought and stepped inside. Upon entering, his eyes fell on the already familiar Core Elders and Sect Master, but then his attention shifted towards two unfamiliar presences within the Sect Master Hall.
Both newcomers turned their heads in Anthony’s direction. The moment they laid eyes on him, their eyes flashed as they examined him from head to toe, as though they wanted to peel off every layer of his skin and uncover whatever secrets he was hiding.
As they laid eyes on him, his Title rang instinctively in their minds. This was how people in the Ecliptica Galaxy discovered each other’s Titles. If they couldn’t discern a Title through instinct, then the other party either didn’t have one or was lying about it.
"This Core Elder greets the Sect Master."
Anthony greeted him as he cupped his fist forward. Although he wouldn’t greet the Sect Master like this, the presence of outsiders made it best to observe the proper etiquette. It was important to know when to show respect and when to behave with familiarity, especially when outsiders were present.
He turned towards the other Core Elders, nodded in their direction, and walked over to their side, standing alongside them.
