"How... long was I unconscious, really?" Feeling the emphasis the being put on the time the experience had eaten up, Valyr looked at the former with curiosity as he asked the question.
"Around two years or so," replied Zenith, slight guilt on its face. "Of course, compared to the Shadow Plane or the outside world, the time you’ve spent here is minuscule in comparison."
"But considering that those two years could’ve improved your understanding of Shadow Energy by leaps and bounds..." At those words, the being could only let out a soft sigh.
At the same time, Valyr could not help but fall into pensive thought after hearing how much time he had spent while going through the experience.
’Adding the time I spent on my own, as well as the time I spent deriving the scripture, I’ve basically spent a third of my time in the Void Core already,’ the young man muttered to himself, only to feel like it didn’t seem like much in the grand scheme of things.

"Although I’m curious what kind of additional rewards I’d get once I get out, the second one confuses me more," said the young man. "Isn’t the Full Cycle Ether Gathering Technique a technique made for the path of a Sage?"
"It is." Zenith nodded. "It’s considered the foundational technique for what would eventually become the strongest Ether Gathering Technique to ever exist."
"Didn’t know that... but that’s not my point," Valyr replied as he looked back at the former in slight confusion. "The point is... why give a technique like that to me? I’m not even on the path of the Sage at all."
After watching Veradine go through the path of a Sage step by step, even though the young man had only seen glimpses of its higher realms, Valyr had to admit that the path of a Sage was strong in its own right.
However, just because it was strong didn’t mean that he’d be willing to change to it.
Aside from it being a path that he did not have much knowledge of, the current strength he had achieved through his current path just made changing to the Sage path not worth it.
"Of course I know you’re not on the Sage path." Zenith was slightly amused by his words. "That’s why I’m giving you a greatly modified version of the technique that works in the current age."
"However, before I give it to you, let me first ask you a question." The being’s eyes narrowed as it looked at Valyr. "If I asked you to do something for me, would you be willing?"
The latter went silent for a bit.
"Would it put my life in danger?" the young man asked, his eyebrow raised in slight suspicion.
"Not at all." Zenith shook its head. "Even if I were to disappear right now, I assure you that you would never be put in harm’s way."
Valyr went silent once more, the gears in his mind turning as he greatly weighed the pros and cons.
"Since that’s the case..."
After deliberating over it for a couple minutes, the young man eventually gave the being a firm nod.
"I accept."
Naturally, the latter beamed in response.

Brought back to the current era with the help of an unknown yet immensely powerful being, the Energy Gathering Technique previously touted to be the greatest in existence appears once more, having been greatly modified and refined into a Physique Refining Technique to keep up with the current era.
Utilizing the four steps of every Energy Gathering Technique to the fullest, this skill allows the user to come into contact with Origin Essence, known by every being in the universe as one of the most powerful and most universal types of energy.
Following a specific set of movements and instructions, this skill allows the user to absorb and assimilate Origin Essence into one’s body, greatly attuning one’s body to the existence of Origin Essence while also refining the aspects of one’s body to a monstrous degree.
Once the user has assimilated a certain amount of Origin Essence within the body, the user can choose to compress this Origin Essence into a point, allowing it to ascend to a purer form.
Ascending one’s Origin Essence increases not only the limit of what the technique could bear, but also the limit of what benefit the body could obtain from Origin Essence.
This skill allows the user to ascend the assimilated Origin Essence six times in total, with each ascension offering the user various bonuses that would make their future path vastly smoother.
To use the technique, the user must first sense the trace existence of Origin Essence within the universe. The time it takes to sense it depends on the user’s affinity with the energy, with the longest time taken to sense it being a week.
Once the existence of Origin Essence is sensed, one can then absorb and assimilate it into one’s body, thus beginning the practice of the technique.
The first circulation of the technique takes an hour to complete. Once complete, all aspects of the user’s body are improved to varying degrees. The subsequent time it takes to complete the next circulation increases by 2 minutes.
At the first realm of Origin Essence, the user can circulate the technique a maximum of 100 times.
