Chapter 1071 A visitor in Iron Dawn

"Five million high-grade spirit stones?" Shun Long didn’t hold back his shock, his golden eyes staring at the branch manager with a look of unconcealed surprise.

Forget about five million, even a million high-grade spirit stones was already an absurd amount to ask for.

In Lunar Grave, one could even buy the life of a newly-advanced Sovereign with that much money, and yet, the ’White Tiger chamber of commerce’ was asking for five times that much, just to find out some information?

But Lin Xu didn’t even bat an eye as he unhesitantly nodded his head in confirmation.

Then, the silver-robed man just sat there and waited, giving some time for the azure-robed man to think it over.

Surprisingly, though, that wait didn’t last for more than a few breaths of time.

The azure-robed elder seemed to have already made his decision, as he calmly waved his hand, and a small, black-colored spatial ring appeared in his palm.

Then, staring at the branch manager, Shun Long tossed the ring over and said in a raspy voice,

"I’m not short on spirit stones, but that information better match the price you are asking."

The silver-robed Lin Xu just nodded, and didn’t say anything right away.

Instead, he just closed his eyes and sent his soul sense inside the spatial ring, inspecting its contents, before a small smile found its way to his face.

Opening his eyes, Lin Xu turned to the azure-robed elder and cupped his hands before he spoke once again,

"You can judge that for yourself, honored customer. First, I will tell you what I already know."

The manager’s eyes gleamed as he stared at Shun Long, and at that moment, Shun Long could feel the atmosphere inside the private room turning a notch more solemn as Lin Xu’s voice turned uncharacteristically deep and serious,

"I’m sure honored customer is already aware that in the last few years, our continent has been facing an invasion from some high-level masters that descended from the Immortal Dimension and are causing chaos everywhere."

Shun Long nodded expressionlessly, his golden eyes staring at the silver-robed manager who simply nodded in acknowledgement and continued,

"I will spare the small talk and get straight to the point, then. Apparently, a week ago, one of those masters contacted the city lord and said he would be personally paying him a visit. ...That day is supposed to be tomorrow."

Lin Xu’s explanation stopped there and the private room was plunged into deathly silence once more, as the silver-robed manager just stared at Shun Long with his deep brown eyes.

He didn’t need to say anything else.

After all, who in the entirety central continent hadn’t heard about the cultivators from the Immortal Dimension who had invaded the continent? And yet one of them was now coming to Iron Dawn?

Shun Long considered the implications behind Lin Xu’s words before he his mind fell into deep thought, completely ignoring the influential Sovereign who was still sitting opposite him.

Just like Lin Xu had said, this was indeed extremely important news. And not just for him.

Shun Long didn’t doubt that most likely, the Sovereigns from the cities adjacent to Iron Dawn would be paying attention to this, as well.

After all, there was no way the Amber Dawn Sovereign and the rest of the city lords near Iron Dawn hadn’t caught wind of something this massive taking place in their backyard.

A few moments later, Shun Long turned to Lin Xu and nodded before he continued,

"I see. This is an interesting piece of news. But I doubt this is everything you have to offer, right?"

Lin Xu shook his head and cupped his hands before he answered,

"Of course not. Our White Tiger chamber of commerce does a thorough job. Although I do not know why that person from the Immortal Dimension is coming to Iron Dawn, I will handle this matter personally. All I ask is for honored customer to wait here for a bit.

Our staff will provide you with the highest quality of entertainment our chamber of commerce has to offer while we complete your request."

As his voice trailed off, the silver-robed Sovereign stood up and cupped his hands a second time, before he turned around and left the private room with long strides.

The moment Lin Xu left, the private room fell silent again. The incense curled upward in thin threads as Shun Long pondered things in silence.

No matter what, the issue of the cultivators from the ’Immortal Dimension’ descending to this mortal world was something he was more than just ’interested’ in. He wasn’t sure which power had sent them to the central continent, but Shun Long was well aware of the implications behind that move.

It wasn’t something any second-rate powers could possibly do. Even World Rulers and first-rate powers would have to pay an extremely high price for something like that.

That’s why Shun Long could tell that a true behemoth must have been involved in this situation, and surely, the reason behind their actions must have justified them paying such a high price.

For a moment, Shun Long even considered investigating the issue personally, but ultimately decided against it.

Putting aside how difficult it would be to infiltrate the Iron Dawn’s city lord estate, he knew he would have to reveal quite a few of his trump cards if things went awry. And even worse, if that person from the ’Immortal Dimension’ somehow died, all of it could end up being for naught.

Besides, since Lin Xu had taken on his request and was personally heading for the city lord’s estate, there was nothing else for him to do but sit there and wait until he was back.

It was unlikely that a branch manager of the White Tiger chamber of commerce and a Sovereign realm expert would fail, or even worse, betray one of his customers, but Shun Long had absolute confidence in getting out of Iron Dawn in one piece.
