Monster Integration

Chapter 4496: Too Late

Chapter 4496: Too Late

It took her a little more than eight hours after I got out to come out of the pool.

As she did, I stepped out of the shadow. I was in my abode, actually. There is no need to wait with stealth active when my abode is much safer.

"It is a very good place," I said, and she smiled. "It helped me a lot, but it seemed like it didn’t to you," she added. To that, I shook my head.

"It helped a little," I replied, with a slight smile on my face.

I could have said, it didn’t help at all, but then I wouldn’t have had an excuse to enter the other places. I really want to do that, given the benefits this place has given me.

They are massive, that I wish I could stay in it as long as she had.

She seemed surprised by it. "Even a scratch across the seal is helpful to me, Prime Dynvar," I clarified, which appeared to have erased her confusion.

A moment later, we begin to move. Now that we have finished, there is no need to waste any more time here.

We move cautiously as before, knowing there are monsters around us. Powerful monsters that we don’t want to bog down with.

So, move with utter cautiousness, stopping when there is a monster.

We stopped for even the weak ones that we could easily deal with. If we deal with it, it might attract the other monsters, which is the last thing we want to do.

It took some time, but we have finally walked out of the area.

It is near morning, and not a single one of us is tired. However, I would like to have a rest. So I could practice; I didn’t earlier.

I didn’t know when she would finish, and I wanted to be ready to help her in case the monster attacked.

"The next is a little further; it should take us around two days to reach it," she informed. "It’s fine," I replied. I don’t have any problem; it’s not like I am in a hurry to go to Tauras.

The place is only an excuse for me to keep moving, while experiencing all sorts of things in the world.

Two hours passed, and it was dawn; I admired it as I watched the pale, golden light shine through the energy of the place I was traveling through.

The energies of the surroundings affect the light of the sun and its energies.

Not all energies do it, but powerful ones do.

A few hours passed, and we kept moving, avoiding monsters and the people. Yes, there are people, several of them moving around.

"We will soon be reaching the area anti-stealth; it’s not a dangerous one, even the energy there is quite thin, but it affects the stealth a lot," she said, looking at a normal looking marsh amidst the colourful one.

"Ok," I replied.

She didn’t have to tell me; I have read about it.

It is a shortcut to the place we have to go. If we take the alternative route, we will need at least one more day, which we don’t want to do.

Soon, we flew into it, and the invisible energy of the area clashed against my armor.

I have read the information, but it was only after experiencing it that I understood how it affects stealth.

It did not affect the stealth. No, what it does is create enough interference that it becomes obsolete. The energy is a special kind, akin to a bell.

They are extremely sensitive; the moment they touch something, they will react.

It’s a good thing, I turned off most of my stealth the moment I stepped inside. Not because it is obsolete, but because I was doing very well against it.

It makes most stealths obsolete; it made Dynvar’s, but not mine.

I don’t want others to know about it. It might take their mind somewhere, but I didn’t want them to go.

Hun!

A few seconds passed, and I had sensed something.

’We have guests,’ I informed her. She didn’t say anything, but I could tell she was surprised.

We didn’t stop and kept moving. A few seconds later, she sensed them. Well, it’s not like they had tried to hide themselves.

They could not.

The reason she had not discovered them was that they were too fast, but now they are coming toward us at a rapid speed.

Soon, we could see two people coming towards us; both of them were fully covered in white cloaks, so that we couldn’t even see a single part of them.

"Give us all your stuff and we will make your deaths clean and painless?" said the leading person in a voice that is neither male nor female.

"You want to kill us even after we give you our stuff?" asked Dynvar.

"Of course," replied the person in a banal way, which sent a shudder through my soul. Even after killing so many people, I still think before killing any person.

Some might even say I’m merciful. Seeing the number of people I had spared.

Though these people are going to die, I could feel their killing intent, and I have a feeling that these two might be cultists. I could spare anyone, but not the cultists.

"No," said Prime Dynvar. "Then be ready to die in a very painful way," threatened the persona and came at us.

The cloaks are hiding their aura very well, but I was able to sense it. Confirming the suspicion I had about their origin.

The one who spoke went toward the Dynvar, while the other came toward me.

The person appeared in front of Dynvar in an instant at a very fast speed, before attacking her with all their strength.

Pachack!

"I,"

The next moment, they suddenly stopped and spoke a word; they might have spoken more. If not for their head being separated from their body.

These two are powerful, but Dynwar is at the edge of Prime with powerful laws; they could not be compared to her.

I turned to the person who appeared beside me; they had stopped their attack midway and now began to retreat. Seeing that, I couldn’t help but shake my head.

It was too late to run.
