Chapter 255: Returning the Favor
Chapter 255: Returning the Favor
This was the most beautiful night for Richard—high in the sky, beneath the moonlight, and even in the open air.
The most beautiful part was the fact that throughout the entire session, Lilith was on top, taking the lead.
Her wild side truly awakened because she was drunk.
Unfortunately, even after all that, she still called Richard boy.
In the end, she collapsed helplessly on top of Richard, her face buried beside his neck.
Richard held her, enjoying the softness of her body while stroking her fragrant, silky blond hair.
It was truly wonderful—and fortunately, no one passed overhead.
If someone had, Richard would have killed that person, and Lilith probably would have done it herself.
This was something meant to be seen only by Richard’s eyes.
"I wonder what Lisa thinks about us making love?" Lilith suddenly spoke.
Richard didn’t know how to react to that.
To think she would bring up Lisa now.
After all, Lisa was the most awkward about this relationship. One was her childhood friend, the other a child she had raised since infancy—then the two of them got married.
"I don’t know," Richard replied.
There was no further response from Lilith. The trembling of her body gradually calmed, indicating that she had fallen asleep.
Whoosh!
Richard moved their bed into the Dragon Hall.
It was time to sleep.
After all, they couldn’t keep sleeping on the deck of a flying ark.
There was always the chance that someone might pass by overhead.
The next day, nothing surprising happened.
After the morning session, Lilith returned to her palace.
She said she no longer felt restless.
On the other hand, Richard continued to relax aboard his ark.
He truly needed more time to unwind, to stabilize his body now brimming with power.
From time to time, he stretched, enjoying the sea breeze.
Even though he had already bathed, he was only wearing pants, bare-chested.
However, when he saw a woman flying toward him, he quickly put on a shirt.
The one who arrived was Sophia Whitewater.
Since Richard had anticipated her arrival from the start, he was naturally delighted.
"Lady Whitewater," he greeted her warmly.
But the woman gave him a strange look and an odd smile.
"Why are you in such a hurry to put on a shirt? Are you afraid I’ll be tempted by you?" she said. "Don’t worry, I’m loyal to your father, and I’m the mother of your younger brother."
Richard, "..."
"You’re not drunk, are you?" Richard asked.
"A little... I drank some strong wine, hehehe. But you must have been expecting my arrival. That’s right, I bring you good news. There’s someone who has an item that can help you gain affinity with the Wind Element."
"What does that person want?" Richard asked in response, ignoring her silly teasing.
"This is the good part. You’re not actually required to pay with anything," Sophia Whitewater replied.
"What do you mean?" Richard was confused.
"You know, as a rare genius, many people want to invest in you. Some might even act recklessly, wanting your bloodline to be passed down into their clan." Sophia smiled faintly, her smile widening when she saw understanding dawn in Richard’s eyes.
"It’s very simple. You just need to get married... No, not necessarily married—what matters is that you sleep with the woman they prepare."
"Are you crazy?" Hearing that, Richard immediately glared.
Sophia clearly hadn’t expected such a reaction.
"Why? You don’t want to?" she asked in confusion.
"Or are you saying you’re a man loyal to your wife?" she added.
"Don’t joke around. I know you inherited some of your father’s bad traits."
"Regardless of what kind of person I am, one thing is certain—I won’t sell myself," Richard replied.
"Do you consider this selling yourself?" Sophia frowned.
"Yes."
"You—!"
"Go. Tell that clan they can make another request."
"Richard, you’re just making things difficult for me. What’s wrong with considering it first and meeting the woman? You might like her."
"I already told you, I don’t want to do it this way. But if you really can’t help, then just leave!"
Richard pulled his ark into his Storage Artifact and flew toward the capital using his own body.
He didn’t even want to know which clan it was.
Still, this was indeed shocking. They weren’t hoping for future favors—they wanted his seed.
(Richard!)
Just as he entered the city, his name was called through mental communication.
And the one calling him was the Red Star Empress.
Still in the sky above the city, Richard instinctively looked toward her residence.
Whoosh!
He shot over, landing directly in the courtyard where the Red Star Empress was waiting.
"Your Majesty, you’ve returned," he said, looking at the woman, who appeared relaxed in a dress that only reached her knees.
"It’s thanks to you. But Richard, stop calling me that. I’m no longer an empress," the Red Star Empress replied.
"I think it’ll be hard to stop," Richard said with a helpless expression.
The Red Star Empress didn’t comment further and instead said, "I haven’t done anything to repay your help yesterday. I don’t think I can repay it properly either, so how about this—I’ll cook for you for lunch later. I just want to know what you’d like to eat."
Richard had thought the Red Star Empress would treat him to a meal as thanks.
But cooking for him personally?
It was hard for him not to be surprised, because coming from a woman like her, this was a far greater show of sincerity.
He was very happy, yet he pretended to feel awkward.
"Your Majesty, what will people say if you end up cooking for me?" he said with a wry smile.
"Are you really worried about that?" the Red Star Empress replied with a strange smile.
Richard’s heart skipped a beat at her smile, feeling as though she could see right through his thoughts.
He hurriedly replied, "Of course I’m worried. You’re a deeply beloved empress in this kingdom... Who would dare imagine you doing something like cooking?"
"But there’s no one here, so no one will know."
Richard, "..."
"It seems you can’t decide what you want to eat. Well then, I’ll cook various dishes so you can eat everything later. Come in..."
When he was invited into her home by the Red Star Empress, Richard still followed her inside the house, which was indeed empty at the moment.
"Your Majesty, where is Prince Alex?" Richard asked, simply making conversation.
