Chapter 276 276: Demon Flame Abyys
Chapter 276 276: Demon Flame Abyys
(Richard, is that you?)
Suddenly, Richard heard the woman's voice in his mind.
(Richard, please help me escape and find my ancestor. I will definitely repay you with a worthy price.) She immediately stated her request without waiting for his response.
This was something Richard had expected.
(You know your ancestor's location, right?) Richard asked.
(Yes, I do.)
(Hide in my hall first.) Richard only needed one step to reach the stall's kitchen. He moved without the owner noticing—after all, he was far too weak to perceive a Lord's movement—and pulled Elise into the Dragon Hall.
Richard still wanted the Wind Element.
Because of that, he intended to obtain it from the Ice Ancestor.
If he followed their original proposal, he would refuse—but this was another way.
As long as he helped him, he would owe him a favor.
With Elise entering the Dragon Hall, it became impossible even for the Snow Ancestor to track her.
(Where is the Ice Ancestor?) Richard continued communicating with Elise as he returned to his seat and finished his meal.
(My ancestor is trapped in the Demon Flame Abyss. He accidentally fell into it while fighting the Sword Master. He was severely injured inside, but managed to survive thanks to his Ice Shield. Unfortunately, because of his injuries, he cannot get out.) Elise replied.
(What kind of place is that?)
(It's a place filled with flames from the Demon Flame Grand Sovereign. It is said that in its depths lies a treasure he left behind, but it's impossible to reach the bottom—any artifact would be reduced to ashes.)
(I see.)
Richard then left, uninterested in watching Gray's battle.
He also didn't want to attract attention right now.
He was worried that once his presence was exposed, many old monsters would seek to kill him to prevent him from competing for the World Magic Aether.
From past eras, those who entered the Sea River always ended up as the ultimate victors.
With Elise's guidance, Richard had no difficulty locating the Demon Flame Abyss.
It lay in the middle of a vast ancient forest, surrounded by towering mountains.
These mountains were not empty—a massive city stood upon them, formed naturally from the many adventurers who ventured into the forest.
From the city, Richard saw a faint small hole in the middle of the forest.
In reality, it was far larger. Black smoke surged out from it, forming massive clouds in the sky that quickly turned into heavy rain.
Frequent rain nourished the forest, making it incredibly lush.
Richard would never find such a place in the Eastern Region. The Central Region was naturally far more prosperous.
Standing on a secluded peak, Richard released Elise from the Dragon Hall.
"What exactly happened to Gray?" Richard asked.
Elise shook her head.
"I don't know either… I'm not sure what Codex he cultivates. He began approaching many women. Then his power grew stronger—but his personality became colder. What people don't know is that the women who were involved with him died one by one. But the Order of the Peak World covered it up well."
Richard: "…"
"What about his first lover, Laura?"
Seven years ago, Elise might not have known about Laura, since Gray had clearly hidden the fact that he already had a lover.
But now, with everything exposed, she should know something.
"Laura…" Elise spoke softly. "It seems Gray abandoned her, considering her useless. Perhaps because her talent and strength were low. I don't know where she is now."
"So if someone is weak, they can't even be part of his harem…" Richard chuckled.
"He's far more insane than you think," Elise replied.
"He even tried to seduce a former empress in his country."
"You mean the Red Star Empress?" Richard's eyes widened.
"Yes, the Red Star Empress," Elise nodded.
"What was the result?" Richard asked.
At first, he didn't care much about whatever path Gray chose.
But the Red Star Empress… belonged to him.
Anyone who dared take her from him would become his mortal enemy.
"There was no result. The Red Star Empress is very loyal to the late king. She rejected every man who approached her," Elise replied.
Hearing that, Richard smiled faintly.
"What is the Red Star Empress doing now?" he asked, curious.
But the question seemed to confuse Elise, and she looked at him strangely.
"Queen Lilith appointed her as Prime Minister to help manage the kingdom, since the Queen is busy with her training."
"Oh…" Richard hadn't expected that outcome.
Of course, he had no problem with it.
"Alright, I'll go find the Ice Ancestor. You can wait here," Richard said.
Whoosh!
He flew off and vanished instantly, entering Void Mode.
However, something was different this time.
Elise did not forget him.
Richard could now control that power far better.
He could decide who remembered him and who didn't.
He could even ensure that no one forgot him at all—and that was what he chose now.
No one would forget him.
He did it intentionally—if everyone forgot him and suddenly remembered again, they would realize he had returned to the world.
He moved swiftly, approaching the distant "small hole," which appeared enormous up close.
In fact, it was as vast as a province in the Holy Star Kingdom.
It was a massive abyss, its depths filled with blazing crimson flames.
The heat didn't spread outward, but the aura of danger it emitted was enough to make one's heart tremble.
Richard believed that if his Void Element affinity were below 50%, those flames could burn him even in Void Mode.
Even at 90%, they still felt dangerous.
Fortunately, his Fire Element affinity had reached 93%.
Only he knew how terrifying those flames truly were.
No ordinary fire in the world could compare.
The same applied to his lightning.
Richard entered the abyss and saw quite a number of Rulers around it—none daring to approach, only observing the flames from a distance.
As he descended, he realized just how deep it truly was.
The upper layers alone could burn Rulers, and even powerful Ancient Sovereigns likely couldn't go too deep.
Richard continued downward, trying to sense any signs of life.
