Chapter 1148: Found Them

"I don’t come from the Prime Galaxy," I said, watching the endless black waters roll beneath the vessel. "I come from a mid-tier galaxy. Compared to the Prime Galaxy, it would be considered relatively weak. The Nagas were the dominant race there, while Dragons, Astrals and several of the races represented aboard this ship simply didn’t exist."

For a few moments, none of the three women spoke.

Kaelra slowly lowered the glass in her hand before looking at me as though she had just heard something completely absurd.

"So you’re telling me," she said carefully, "that you reached this level... despite not being born in the Prime Galaxy?"

I nodded.

"I’ve never even seen a Dragon before arriving here."

She stared at me for another few seconds before letting out a long whistle.

"...Well."

A grin slowly spread across her face.

"Now I understand why Evelyn has been bragging about you every chance she gets."

Evelyn rolled her eyes.

"I don’t brag."

"You absolutely do."

"I simply state facts about him."

Even Sue couldn’t suppress a soft chuckle.

Watching the two women bicker for a moment, I suddenly remembered something that had been lingering in my mind ever since meeting the Astrals.

Turning toward Sue, I leaned lightly against the railing.

"I’ve been meaning to ask you something."

She looked at me with mild curiosity.

"My Future Sight?"

"I was hoping you’d explain how it actually works."

Sue nodded thoughtfully before looking out across the endless Soul Sea.

"It isn’t as convenient as most people imagine."

Her clock-like eyes rotated lazily as she spoke.

"We don’t choose what future to see. At best, we choose the subject. The future itself decides what fragment it wishes to reveal."

"And can it be changed?" I asked.

"It depends."

She smiled faintly.

"Some visions describe possibilities. Others describe inevitabilities. Unfortunately, we don’t know which is which until the event has already passed."

"Can you look at my future?"

This time she hesitated.

"I can try."

Her expression gradually became serious.

"I make no promises."

I nodded.

"That’s good enough."

Sue took a slow breath before closing her eyes. When they opened again, the hands within her clock-like irises began spinning rapidly. The playful woman who had been laughing only moments earlier vanished completely. An overwhelming aura of concentration surrounded her as she fixed her gaze directly upon me.

One second passed.

Then another.

Soon half a minute had gone by.

No one interrupted her.

The only sounds came from the steady creaking of the vessel and the distant cries of enormous Soul Sea creatures somewhere beyond the mist.

As the seconds stretched toward a full minute, Sue’s elegant brows slowly drew together. Her breathing became noticeably heavier. The spinning hands within her eyes accelerated before abruptly slowing again.

Finally...

The light faded. She blinked several times before instinctively placing one hand against the railing to steady herself.

Kaelra immediately frowned.

"What did you see?"

Sue remained silent for several moments.

When she finally spoke, her voice was quieter than before.

"A phoenix."

Every muscle in my body stiffened.

"It was bound."

She slowly looked toward me.

"Bound by enormous crimson chains."

My heart skipped a beat.

"And around it..."

She closed her eyes briefly, as though trying to recall every detail.

"...there was war."

Her voice became almost distant.

"I couldn’t see who was fighting. I couldn’t even tell where the battlefield was."

"But..."

She hesitated.

"I’ve never witnessed such devastation. The sky itself appeared broken. Entire worlds were collapsing into rivers of fire, while countless fragments of reality drifted through space."

She looked at me apologetically.

"That’s all I saw."

My thoughts immediately raced.

A phoenix.

Crimson chains.

A battlefield capable of shattering worlds.

Vivi.

There was no way that could be a coincidence. Was something happening in the Blue Spiral? Had the Eternals already begun another offensive?

Or...

Was this a future that hadn’t yet come to pass?

I remained silent, unwilling to voice any of those thoughts. Kaelra, however, simply snorted before taking another sip from her drink.

"That’s why I dislike Future Sight."

Sue looked at her.

"It fills people’s heads with worries they can’t solve."

The Dragon leader shrugged.

"My people have a much simpler philosophy."

She lightly tapped my shoulder with the back of her hand.

"Forget mysterious visions."

"If the future tries to kill you..."

A confident grin spread across her face.

"...hit it harder."

I couldn’t help laughing.

"That sounds exactly like something a Dragon would say."

"It usually works."

Evelyn smiled.

"Unfortunately.....she isn’t entirely wrong."

The conversation drifted into comfortable silence.

For several minutes, none of us spoke.

The Soul Sea stretched endlessly before us, its black waters reflecting neither sky nor light. Giant creatures occasionally surfaced in the distance before disappearing beneath the waves once more, while strange currents of Soul Force twisted lazily across the horizon like drifting storms.

Then...

My perception suddenly stirred. A familiar pattern entered its range.

I immediately straightened.

There.

Far ahead of the vessel.

A group of enormous stingray-like creatures glided gracefully beneath the surface exactly as I had seen countless times through the All-Knowing Eyes. Their yellow and blue bodies shimmered beneath the dark water while crimson markings across their backs formed patterns I would never mistake.

A smile slowly appeared on my face.

"We’re here."

The three women immediately turned toward me.

Without taking my eyes off the distant creatures, I touched the communication bracelet wrapped around my wrist.

"Gerald."

His voice answered almost instantly.

"Go ahead."

"I’ve found them."

A brief pause followed.

"The stingrays?"

"Yes."

Another moment of silence.

Then Gerald’s voice became noticeably more excited.

"I see them."

"Maintain your distance," I instructed. "Don’t lose them, but don’t let them notice us either. Whatever they’re heading toward... that’s where we’re going."

"Understood."

The connection faded.

I looked back toward Evelyn, Sue and Kaelra.

"If you’ll excuse me..."

Curiosity had already begun replacing caution.

"...there’s something I need to confirm."

Before anyone could ask another question, I stepped onto the railing and launched myself into the air.

The cold wind rushed past as I flew high above the Soul Sea before angling downward toward the enormous school of stingrays. Finding them had never been the difficult part. The visions from the All-Knowing Eyes had made that possible.

The real mystery still remained.

I knew these creatures were connected to the hidden prison of the Twelfth Soul Current.

I simply had no idea.....how.
