Chapter 1433: Fangs, Frost, and Thunder

Chapter 1433: Fangs, Frost, and Thunder

Fangs, Frost, and Thunder

Back at the AFA, Apollo had always been considered one of the best. His placement at the top wasn’t just due to his Altered form or natural talent, he had earned that position through relentless hard work and grit.

Born into the life of gangs, his family had been part of the infamous One Gang. And from a young age, Apollo saw how those at the bottom were treated, like disposable tools, forgotten by the ones in power. That was why he trained. That was why he pushed. To rise above that system. To stand tall where others were forced to kneel.

Eventually, he climbed his way up the ranks to become one of the Zodiacs, an elite member of the One Gang. A personal symbol of strength for one of the Kings, a fighter who had survived countless AFC matches and battles on the streets.

But what Apollo had never expected… was to discover a gang that was different.

The Howlers were unlike anything he had known. A gang that didn’t cast aside its weakest members. A group that cared, not out of obligation, but out of loyalty. The time he’d spent at the manor with them, it hadn’t sunk in until now, but those were some of the best days of his life.

He had lost people. Family members in the One Gang, taken away due to failed business and brutal betrayal. When it happened, he was told to bury the pain. To forget. Because, in the world he grew up in, the dead didn’t matter.

But Gary… Gary would never think that way.

And now, Gary was the one depending on him, depending on his power to help stop the monster standing right in front of them.

Apollo could feel Lupus struggling to free the clawed hand he had buried into his shoulder, but Apollo refused to let go.

There was something unique about Apollo, something few knew. He didn’t just possess the power of Ice. He had a second element as well, lightning.

His body began to glow, sparks of electricity crackling across his fur. The currents jumped to Lupus, zapping the werewolf at close range.

Normally, this type of stun wouldn’t have a serious effect on someone like Lupus. Even Apollo didn’t expect much from it, he used lightning mainly as a way to disorient his opponents before slamming them into the ground.

But something unexpected happened.

As the bolts surged into Lupus, they began interacting with the lingering moisture on his body. Thin layers of frost started to form. His limbs slowed.

He was freezing.

It wasn’t much, but it was enough.

From the side, Ice charged in, his large club swinging with brutal speed. The weapon cracked against Lupus’s face.

But the Alpha wasn’t done. With sheer force, Lupus raised his arm and took the hit head-on.

The club shattered on impact.

‘That club was reinforced. Hardened with every bit of my Ice ability,’ Ice thought in disbelief. ‘And it still broke apart like glass… It barely even left a mark.’

Now that Ice was closer, he caught a glimpse of Lupus’s palm, the same one they’d pierced earlier with the spear. The hole had almost completely healed.

“You… you’re an interesting one, that’s for sure,” Lupus said, eyes fixed on Apollo with something that looked like amusement. Then his mouth stretched unnaturally wide, and a strange darkness poured out from within.

The shadow-like substance crept toward Apollo like living fog, wrapping itself over his body.

There was no pain, but Apollo felt it. A heavy pressure, a cold sensation that clung to his skin like a second layer. A strange, supernatural numbness.

Lupus had just activated one of his advanced skills, one that belonged to the Predaclaw Ascendant, the third evolution of the Hunter class.

It was called Predator’s Tether.

In his previous fight against Gary and Edvard, Lupus had barely used any Class skills. The pressure of facing two powerhouses had forced him to rely on brute strength and eventually his Alpha form.

He had assumed that anyone else in the Howlers wouldn’t be worth using them on.

Clearly, he had been wrong.

These two, Apollo and Ice, they weren’t just strong. They were powerful enough to rival any of his Ironfangs. In fact… they might’ve exceeded them.

“What are you waiting for, Ice?!” Apollo shouted, locking his arms around Lupus’s body in a tight grapple. “Take him out now!”

His lightning sparked violently, spreading across the water below. His ice element activated, trying to hold Lupus in place. Electricity continued to surge through the Alpha’s body, and the Predator’s Tether pulsed with pressure.

Ice saw his chance. He summoned not one, but two massive clubs made of solidified, compacted ice. Each strike-ready and reinforced.

He lunged into the air, aiming straight down.

He knew full well some of the attack might hurt Apollo too. But there was no other opening like this. No better chance.

As the twin clubs came crashing down, Lupus’s eyes flashed blood red. His muscles coiled. His claws flexed.

[Ravage Spiral]

His entire body twisted violently, unleashing a cyclone of claw strikes that exploded outward in every direction.

Like a tornado made of blades, the Ravage Spiral engulfed both Apollo and Ice.

The icy clubs were the first to go, shattered into shards.

Then came the impact.

Apollo was slashed across the chest and arms, four savage, clean cuts that sent him flying backwards, crashing into the water.

Ice had taken two strikes to his clubs, and two more across his chest. His fur tore open as blood sprayed out, and his body was launched back, skidding across the water’s surface.

From a distance, the scene looked like they had been swallowed by a whirlwind, but this was no mere wind.

It was pure, feral destruction.

As the red energy of the Ravage Spiral faded, Lupus stood in the center, unfazed, unmoving.

The frost that had begun to trap him had melted. The electricity had dispersed. He was no longer stunned. No longer held.

And the others?

Apollo’s wounds still bled as he struggled to stand. Ice’s chest began to regenerate, his body healing, but slowly.

“You two,” Lupus growled, licking the blood from his claws. “You’re special. Really special.”

He grinned wide.

“You’ll make a fine meal… one that’ll make me even stronger than before.”
