Mystic Eyes: My Eyes Steal the Laws of Cultivation

Chapter 324: Goodbye

Chapter 324: Goodbye

The night passed quickly over the floating city in the middle of the forest.

Outside, the celebrations continued late. Spiritual fireworks lit up the sky every few minutes, and the sound of music and laughter echoed among the giant trees. But inside the Verdant Sword Tree, everyone had retired early. There was a solemn calm in the air. They knew that the next day would bring farewells.

Kyrian did not sleep immediately. He sat on the balcony at night, watching the floating city shine under the stars. His thoughts wandered between what had happened and what was to come. The Gathering of Domains had ended. Mo Tianhai and the others would head to the Gray Blade Sect. He would return to the Verdant Sword and, after that, to the Blood Court.

The path ahead was certain for him.

When the first rays of sunlight began to break over the horizon, he stood up. He stretched his shoulders and went back inside.

One by one, the others woke up.

Mo Tianhai was the first to leave his room, already dressed in his black robe. His face was serious, but his eyes shone with a different light. Expectation.

Shen Yu appeared next, his arms still bandaged, but his posture firm. The burns from his fight against Huo Ling were still visible on his neck, but he seemed not to feel pain.

Mo Xia and Long Xue came out together, the two talking in low voices. Their faces were excited, but there was a hint of sadness in their eyes. They were happy to leave for a 4° level sect, but they would leave behind the only home they had known.

Wu Jian was the last, limping slightly but with a smile on his face. "You’re all ready already? I haven’t even had my morning tea."

Mo Xia rolled her eyes.

"There’s no time for tea. The envoy won’t wait."

Feng Yuan and Mei Ran were already in the central hall, dressed in their best robes. The leader of the Verdant Sword looked more solemn than usual.

"Let’s go," Feng Yuan said, his voice firm.

"We’ll accompany you to the meeting point."

The group left the Verdant Sword Tree in silence. The floating city was already awake, even at that early hour. Cultivators walked along the suspended bridges, merchants opened their stalls, and the scent of herbs and spiritual food filled the air.

The path to the Central Plateau was short, but it felt long to all of them. Every step was a reminder that their time together was coming to an end.

When they arrived, the Central Plateau looked completely different from the previous day.

The floating stands, which had once been packed with spectators, were now occupied by groups of disciples, envoys, and members of the Ancient Forest Sect. There was visible organization, each 4° level force had a marked area where their recruits gathered.

The murmur was low and orderly. It was no longer the excitement of battles. It was the stir of departures, of farewells, of new beginnings.

Kyrian observed the scene carefully.

On the left side of the plateau, the recruits of the Southern Wind Dynasty were gathered. The girl from the Wind Sect was among them, her silver hair floating softly even without wind. Beside her, two other youths of wind domains chatted excitedly.

Closer to the center, the recruits of the Earth Forge were already arranged in two rows. The War Hammer disciple stood out among them, his imposing stature drawing attention.

Near the great ancestral tree, the recruits of the Deep Roots Sect waited in silence. Mu Qing and Mo Sun were there, both with calm expressions. Yin Xue, from the Shadow Valley, stood slightly apart from the others, his pale figure almost blending with the tree’s shadow.

The White Crane Sect had set up an area covered with white fabrics, where the Thorn Flower disciple and other healers waited.

The Scarlet Rock Sect and the Celestial River Alliance also had their marked spaces.

And on the right side of the plateau, near one of the suspended bridges that led out of the floating city, was the Gray Blade Sect.

Kyrian recognized the envoy Yun Che immediately. The man in the dark gray robe stood with his arms crossed, his sharp eyes scanning the crowd. Around him, several disciples were already gathered, youths from various sects who had been recruited the day before.

"Let’s go," Feng Yuan said, leading the group toward the Gray Blade area.

As they approached, Yun Che saw them. His eyes fixed on Kyrian for a moment, then moved to Mo Tianhai and the others.

"The disciples of the Verdant Sword," he said, his voice neutral.

"Punctual. That’s good."

Mo Tianhai stepped forward.

"We are here to fulfill the commitment."

Yun Che nodded.

"Join the others. We depart in an hour."

The five disciples of the Verdant Sword exchanged looks. The moment had come.

Mo Tianhai turned to Feng Yuan and bowed deeply.

"Master, Elder Mei Ran... thank you for everything."

Feng Yuan placed a hand on his shoulder.

"You were like a son to me. Take care of yourself. And if anything, you can always return to our sect whenever you wish."

Mei Ran already had slightly teary eyes. She hugged Mo Tianhai, then Mo Xia, and the others.

"Be happy," she whispered.

"And be strong."

Mo Xia was crying openly now. Long Xue bit her lip to keep from doing the same.

Wu Jian, who always joked, was silent for the first time.

Shen Yu simply nodded, but inside he felt a bit saddened by the farewell.

Kyrian stood slightly apart, watching. He wasn’t good with farewells. Especially knowing that soon he would go farther than all of them.

Mo Tianhai approached him.

"Aren’t you going to say anything?" he asked, with a half-smile.

Kyrian thought for a moment.

"Take care of them."

"Always."

The two exchanged a handshake. This time, firmer than the night before.

Mo Xia ran up and hugged Kyrian quickly before he could react.

Long Xue did the same, though more reserved, while saying,

"Thank you. For everything."

Wu Jian just patted Kyrian on the shoulder and said,

"See you around."

Shen Yu was the last and simply nodded.

The five joined the other recruits of the Gray Blade Sect. Yun Che made a quick count and nodded.

"We’re ready."

He turned and began walking toward the suspended bridge that led out of the floating city. The disciples followed him in silence.

Kyrian, Feng Yuan, and Mei Ran stood still, watching the group leave.

Mo Tianhai looked back once. His eyes met Kyrian’s for a brief moment. He raised his hand in a wave.

Kyrian raised his in return.

Then the group disappeared around the curve of the bridge, swallowed by the crowd.

Kyrian simply stood there, in silence, watching the horizon.

The floating city continued to pulse with life around him.

"Let’s go," Feng Yuan said after a few minutes.

"It’s time for us to return as well."

The Gathering of Domains had ended. New paths had opened for everyone. And Kyrian, once again, would soon move forward alone.
