Mystic Eyes: My Eyes Steal the Laws of Cultivation

Chapter 325: Last Day in the Verdant Sword Sect

Chapter 325: Last Day in the Verdant Sword Sect

Kyrian stood at the edge of the Central Plateau, watching the floating city move around him.

Feng Yuan and Mei Ran had gone to speak with the Leader of the Ancient Forest Sect about administrative matters, meeting formalities, recording the results, and perhaps one or two conversations about future cooperation. Kyrian didn’t ask for details. It wasn’t his concern.

He stayed there, alone, leaning against one of the enormous roots of the great ancestral tree that stretched to the edge of the plateau.

Below him, the floating city pulsed with life. Disciples from various sects walked across suspended bridges, carrying weapons, scrolls, and supplies. Some groups were already departing, small flying ships taking off from platforms scattered throughout the city, carrying participants back to their domains.

Kyrian observed everything with calm eyes.

The wind blew softly, carrying the scent of living wood and spiritual herbs. The sky was clear, a deep blue that seemed to stretch infinitely. It was a beautiful day to leave.

Half an hour passed.

Feng Yuan and Mei Ran finally returned, walking side by side. The face of the Verdant Sword leader was serious, but there was a faint satisfaction in his eyes. Mei Ran seemed calmer than in previous days, as if the worst had already passed.

"It’s time." Said Feng Yuan as he approached Kyrian.

Kyrian nodded.

Feng Yuan touched his spatial ring. A flash, and the flying ship appeared before them, floating gently above the wooden ground. It was the same ship that had brought them to the meeting, but now it seemed much larger. Without the five disciples who had left for the Gray Blade Sect, the internal space was empty.

The three jumped aboard with agility.

Feng Yuan took control at the bow. Mei Ran sat beside him, her hands resting on her lap. Kyrian walked to the stern and sat alone, his back against the edge of the ship.

The ship’s spiritual engine hummed softly.

And the return journey began.

The flying ship quickly gained altitude, leaving the floating city behind. Kyrian looked back as the city shrank, its giant trees becoming small green dots among the clouds. The great ancestral tree glowed like a golden candle on the horizon.

After a few minutes, the city disappeared completely.

The return trip was peaceful. The ship cut through the skies at a steady speed, passing over dense forests, snow-covered mountains, and valleys where bright rivers wound like silver ribbons.

They crossed the territories of several smaller domains. Kyrian recognized some by the mountain formations or the markings on the ground, beast hunting areas, spiritual herb cultivation fields, and small fortified towns.

The sun moved slowly across the sky, from east to west.

Time passed.

Finally, the landscape began to look familiar. The mountains surrounding the Verdant Sword domain appeared on the horizon, sharp peaks covered with twisted pines, deep valleys where spiritual mist gathered.

The ship descended gradually.

Kyrian saw the sect below. The dark wooden buildings, the training courtyards, and other structures.

Disciples in the courtyards raised their heads as they saw the ship approaching. Some pointed to the sky, others ran to inform the elders.

The ship hovered over the central area for a moment, then descended smoothly, touching the ground with a dull thud.

Feng Yuan turned off the spiritual engine. The three disembarked.

The leader stored the ship in his spatial ring with a gesture.

At that moment, disciples began to gather around the inner area. They were eager and curious. News of the Gathering of Domains had not yet officially reached that remote domain.

"Leader Feng! How was it?" An elder asked as soon as they stepped off the ship.

"Did we achieve any placement?"

"Kyrian... did he really participate?"

Feng Yuan raised his hand, asking for silence.

"I will make an official announcement later. For now, disperse."

The elders obeyed, though reluctantly. Their eyes were still fixed on Kyrian, who remained silent.

When they dispersed, Feng Yuan turned to Kyrian.

"When will you leave?"

It wasn’t a question with malice. It was a statement. Both knew that Kyrian had not returned to stay. He had returned to close a cycle.

Kyrian thought for a moment.

"Tomorrow morning."

Feng Yuan nodded, unsurprised.

"I understand."

He turned to Mei Ran, who was at his side.

"Let’s go. We have work to do. We no longer have core disciples to serve as the nucleus of the sect. We need to find new talents among the inner disciples."

Mei Ran nodded, her eyes briefly passing over Kyrian before turning back to the leader.

The two walked away, leaving Kyrian alone in the central area.

He walked to his courtyard.

Upon entering the room, he saw the floor covered with remnants of herbs and jade plaques, traces of his days refining pills and studying formations. He knelt down and began organizing everything, separating what was still useful from what no longer served.

The dried herbs were discarded. The jade plaques with useful notes were stored in his spatial ring. The room gradually became cleaner.

When he finished, the courtyard was empty. Only the wooden walls and the lingering scent of herbs in the air.

Kyrian decided that he would have dinner there, in his courtyard, one last time.

He called a servant and asked for some supplies, beast meat, high-quality rice, and rare seasonings. The servant hurried to comply, returning about an hour later with the ingredients.

Kyrian went to the small kitchen attached to the courtyard and prepared his own dinner. It wasn’t anything extravagant, but the aroma that spread through the courtyard was comforting.

He took the food to the outer area of the courtyard and sat on the wooden floor, his back against a pillar. He ate in silence, feeling the sharp wind of the sect pass across his face.

The sky was dark now, dotted with stars. The moon shone faintly behind a thin layer of clouds.

After finishing, Kyrian washed the utensils, stored everything, and returned to the room.

He lay down on the simple wooden bed and closed his eyes.

Sleep came quickly.
