Chapter 1404: Something About Eltharon (Part 2)
Every time Evan thought about Mythrenor, he would feel an uncontrollable rage rising inside him.
He knew this rage did not belong to him, but to his previous self—Azroth.
And as far as Evan knew, Azroth was not someone who would let a person who bothered him continue to live.
Azroth’s killing intent toward Mythrenor was undeniable, and knowing just how powerful Azroth was, strong enough to create an entirely new world with a mere wave of his hand, Evan had no doubt that if he truly wanted to, he could erase Mythrenor from existence without any difficulty.
But Mythrenor was still alive.
’Why didn’t Azroth kill Mythrenor?’ This question lingered inside Evan’s mind.
’Could it be that he couldn’t kill him?’
The thought appeared in his mind, but not even a second later, it was automatically rejected.
Even though he did not know Azroth’s exact level of strength, Evan was certain that if that madman truly wanted to kill someone, not even all the Primordials working together would be able to stop him.
Suddenly, Evan thought about what had happened inside the Tomb of the Ancient.
’He didn’t kill both of them either...’
Inside the Tomb of the Ancient, Azroth had possessed enough power to kill both Baphomet and Eldraker.
But instead of killing them after stopping time with his authority, he had merely severed one of their arms, as if punishing them for daring to attack him.
If, instead of severing their arms, he had destroyed their cores while time was frozen, both of them would undoubtedly have died.
’Just what is going through that guy’s mind?’
Evan rubbed his eyebrows, feeling that there was definitely a reason behind Azroth’s actions.
He did not believe that Azroth spared Baphomet and Eldraker because he wanted Evan to kill them with his own hands.
That cold-blooded man was not sentimental like that.
If he wanted someone dead, he would kill them regardless of anything else.
’Mythrenor... Baphomet...’
As those two names crossed his mind, Evan suddenly paused before something clicked in his head.
’Mythrenor... the Progenitor of Elves. Baphomet... Monarch of Demons. Elf and Demon...’
Evan glanced at his own race.
"Eltharon... A race created from the mixture of demon and elf bloodlines."
Evan suddenly felt as if he were on the verge of grasping something fundamental about his race.
Something that could allow him to further increase the synchronization rate between his race and the Origin Universe.
But no matter how hard he tried to think, it felt as though a veil of mist was covering his mind, preventing him from fully grasping it.
Evan closed his eyes for a moment.
When he opened them again, they had already returned to normal.
"I am not sure what Azroth was planning, but I can feel that it is something necessary to fully grasp the true power of my race."
Evan had not forgotten that back inside the Tomb of the Ancient, when he met Azroth’s soul fragment, it had told him that his greatest power did not lie in his Ruler’s Authority or Primordial Shadow Energy.
His greatest strength was his race—Eltharon.
Something that even Azroth himself admitted he could not fully comprehend until the very end.
’One step at a time... First of all, I need to integrate the Primordial Shadow Realm with my core. As for everything else, I will naturally come to understand it as I grow stronger and break more soul seals.’
Putting those thoughts aside, Evan shifted his attention toward the body of the giant Void Dragon inside his Shadow Storage, and his lips curled upward into a grin.
"I had already decided to kill him the moment I heard what he planned to do to Anastasia, but to think his end would come so soon..." Evan shook his head and carefully looked at Eldraker’s body.
Even though the giant dragon was already dead, Evan could still feel the power of the Void Law emitting from its body.
And unlike his own Void Law power, the power of law emitting from Eldraker was on a completely different level.
"I can accomplish many things using this body. Though, turning him into a Shadow Undead right now is impossible."
There was only one reason why Evan could not turn Eldraker into a Shadow Undead at the moment.
His rank.
His current rank was still too low.
If he wanted to transform Eldraker into a Shadow Undead, he would first need to become at least a Beginner-Level Rank Six Core Evolver because he could only turn individuals who were within two ranks above him into Shadow Undeads.
And even Evan himself did not know how long it would take him to reach that level.
"For a moment, just before killing him, I even considered using the Soul Harvest effect of Reaper’s Wrath on him. But considering Azroth told me not to focus too much on raw strength, I decided not to use it."
====
---) Reaper’s Wrath (Racial Skill): The Reaper’s Wrath skill has two effects—one passive and one active.
---) Passive Effect: Reaper’s Wrath increases the user’s stat points depending on their rage level. The higher the user’s rage, the greater the increase in their stats. While in rage mode, if the user’s killing intent surpasses that of the target, the target will become immobilized and unable to move unless their willpower can overcome the killing intent.
---) Active Effect: Once every two months, you can activate the Soul Harvest mode of Reaper’s Wrath for five minutes. During Soul Harvest mode, there is a twenty-five percent chance of absorbing the soul of any target you kill. If the soul is successfully absorbed, you will gain 10% of one of the target’s stats. The stat gained is chosen randomly.
(Note: In order to receive 10% of the target’s stat points, the target you kill must be at least two levels above you.)
====
If Evan had used the Soul Harvest effect of his skill, there was a very high possibility that one of his stats would have increased by hundreds of thousands of points.
But at the same time, he would have lost the opportunity to turn Eldraker into a shadow undead, as people affected by Soul Harvest could not be turned into undeads.
Just as Evan was thinking, he suddenly sensed something, and a smile appeared on his face.
"They are here."
