Chapter 1405: Planning (Part 1)
Chapter 1405: Planning (Part 1)
As soon as Sylvan and the others felt the overwhelming aura of the END erupting from the crimson monster, they immediately understood that the situation surrounding Evan had spiraled completely out of control.
The worst part was that they could do absolutely nothing to help him.
Even from such a great distance, they could sense terrifying auras coming from that direction, presences far stronger than themselves.
As such, the only thing Ashley and Sylvan could think of was to return to the closed world of the Dryads and bring Anastasia, who might be able to do something about the situation.
With Ashley’s help, it took them only a few minutes to return to the closed world of the Dryads.
But the instant they entered, Sylvan’s expression changed.
Because of his control over the closed world, he could clearly sense Evan’s presence inside.
"This..."
A look of confusion flashed across the old man’s face, and for a moment, he even wondered if he was hallucinating.
But when he extended his senses toward the location where he felt Evan’s presence, he saw him lying comfortably on the grass with a worm sitting beside him.
As if sensing Sylvan’s gaze, Evan even waved back at him.
"Is that his ghost?" The old man muttered with a stunned expression, wondering if his eyesight had finally failed because of old age.
"What’s wrong?" Ashley quickly asked after noticing the strange look on Sylvan’s face.
Seeing Ashley’s worried expression, as though she feared something had happened to Evan, Sylvan replied in a dry voice.
"That ghost is currently sunbathing outside his house."
"Huh?"
Both Ashley and Natasha were confused when they heard his words.
But Sylvan did not bother explaining anything. Using his control over the closed world, he instantly teleported everyone next to Evan.
Ashley, who had been about to rush into the house to look for Anastasia, froze when she saw Evan lying lazily on the grass outside.
"You..." She pointed at him with a trembling finger. "What are you doing here?"
Evan grinned after seeing Ashley’s shocked expression.
"Just trying to comfort my shaken mind. You know, it’s not easy escaping from some of the strongest people in this world."
"No, that’s not... I mean..." Ashley stammered, but after confirming that he was safe, a relieved look appeared on her face.
"It’s good that you are fine."
Evan simply smiled at her response and glanced at Natasha from the corner of his eyes.
He remembered that when he had asked her how she died in her previous life, she had said that she was peacefully sleeping when a halberd filled with the power of destruction descended from the sky and annihilated everything, including her.
At that time, Evan had comforted her, saying that the culprit responsible for her death deserved to die inside the stomach of a Void Beast.
Even though he knew the culprit had actually been Azroth, in other words, himself—he had still cursed him just so he could pull Natasha onto their side.
But after witnessing Elora’s power earlier, Evan could not help but wonder if Natasha had recognized the same destructive aura that had killed her in her previous life.
’Well, even if she figured it out, it’s not like she can do anything now that she is trapped inside the closed world of the Dryads...’
He shook his head and pushed the thought aside.
"What exactly happened out there? And what was that crimson beast?" Sylvan finally asked the question lingering in everyone’s mind. "It felt even more terrifying than Baphomet and the others."
Evan sighed when he heard the question.
"It was nothing. Our little glutton was just sulking a bit."
"Huh?"
Confused expressions immediately appeared on their faces.
Seeing their reactions, Evan vaguely explained Elora’s situation.
Of course, because of Natasha’s presence, he intentionally left out many details and only said that he had used too much of the power of destruction, causing Elora to lose control.
"So all of this happened because you used that move again? The same one you used in the Maldrith Kingdom and nearly killed yourself with?"
Evan nodded and once again lay back on the grass.
"Although a lot of troublesome things happened, the results were extremely satisfying."
As he spoke, a peaceful smile appeared on his face.
Seeing that peaceful smile, Sylvan could not help but gulp nervously because every single time Evan showed that expression, he ended up doing something absurd.
Suddenly, the old man saw Evan wave his hand.
The next instant, an overwhelming aura spread in all directions as the massive corpse of a deep-purple dragon appeared not far away from them.
For a moment, Sylvan and the others were merely confused while staring at the gigantic dragon corpse.
But the very next second, their eyes widened in shock.
"You..."
Sylvan looked at Evan with disbelief written all over his face.
"You killed him?"
Evan gave him a smug smile and shrugged casually.
"This guy was acting like a complete bastard and disturbing the peace of Utopia. As an advocate of peace, I had no choice but to bring down judgment upon him."
Sylvan and Ashley nearly choked when they heard Evan’s shameless words.
But Evan completely ignored their reactions and instead looked toward Draven, whose summoning time was about to end.
"Draven, once you return, tell Anastasia’s essence clone and the others that I will be coming to the Primordial Shadow Realm soon."
"Coming to the Shadow Realm..." Draven repeated in his childish voice.
But soon, he seemed to realize something, and his body trembled with excitement.
"Master, are you finally planning to integrate the Shadow Realm with your core?"
"Yes." Evan nodded, his eyes narrowing slightly. "It’s about time I finally obtain the greatest gift Azroth left behind for me."
As he spoke, spatial ripples appeared around Draven, and his body slowly began to fade.
"Don’t forget to inform Anastasia’s essence clone," Evan reminded him one last time as he was about to disappear.
"Don’t worry, Master. We will be ready when you arrive," Draven replied and the next instant, he vanished from the closed world of the Dryads.
