Necromancer Of The Shadows

Chapter 1406: Planning (Part 2)

Chapter 1406: Planning (Part 2)

Leaving behind Sylavn and the others, who were still feasting their eyes on Eldraker’s dead body, Evan went inside his home.

Through a portal no larger than a grain of sand, he entered Anastasia’s core world.

This time, instead of appearing in the middle of a raging storm like last time, he directly arrived atop the mountain where she was sleeping.

"She is still asleep..." Evan muttered as he walked toward Anastasia and noticed the energy surrounding her had calmed significantly compared to the last time he visited.

’I wonder how strong she will become after waking up.’

He knew Anastasia was currently assimilating another portion of her Progenitor power into herself.

From what she had told him before, every assimilation resulted in a massive increase in strength, and this time, she seemed to be assimilating an especially large portion of it.

’It would be amazing if she could reach or even surpass that bastard Mythrenor.’

As the thought crossed his mind, Evan looked around, trying to locate the strange snowy mountain he had encountered during his previous visit to Anastasia’s core world.

’I am really curious about that strange coffin I saw on that mountain back then...’

Though he was curious about it, he had no intention of wandering around to search for it.

After glancing at Anastasia once more and seeing her sleeping peacefully, Evan suddenly felt the urge to sleep as well after everything that had happened earlier.

"I wish I also had the ability to grow stronger while sleeping," He muttered with a shake of his head before slumping onto the cloud-like bed beside her.

A cool breeze brushed past him, carrying the fresh scent of grass and flowers.

As he stared at the drifting clouds above, Evan felt his eyelids grow heavier and within less than a minute, he fell asleep.

Evan did not know how much time had passed, but when he opened his eyes again, the once bright sky had turned dark, filled with countless shining stars decorating the heavens like pearls.

Turning his head slightly, he saw that at some point, Anastasia had wrapped her arms around him while still sleeping peacefully, completely unconcerned with the outside world.

’I also want to keep sleeping... Unfortunately, there are still too many things I need to do.’

He sighed softly before carefully removing Anastasia’s arms from around him and sitting up.

Looking inside his soul space, he saw that Elora still had not awakened, though the chaotic aura surrounding her had calmed considerably.

’She should wake up within a few hours...’

After making a rough estimate, Evan stood up and left Anastasia’s core world.

Once outside, the first thing he did was check whether Sylvan had sent him any messages.

But seeing nothing, he raised an eyebrow.

’It seems he is still gathering information about what happened after I escaped.’

The thing Evan was most curious about right now was what had happened between Alistair, Eilistraea, Baphomet, and Mythrenor after he left.

He still remembered how his cheap father had sounded on the verge of exploding with rage before he escaped, and he wondered whether Mythrenor had vented his anger on Alistair and the others.

Although he was not completely certain, Evan could roughly guess that Mythrenor was stronger than Baphomet and the others.

As for how much stronger, he had no idea.

’It would be great if that bastard actually attacked them. If he did, I might be able to drag Alistair into fighting against him during the war.’

Eilistraea was already helping them in the upcoming war, so he did not need to worry about her.

As for Baphomet, that guy was probably already going mad after discovering what Evan had done to his empire while he was away, so recruiting him was impossible.

But Alistair was different.

The Blood Monarch had not officially joined either side yet.

Pulling him into their camp would be extremely beneficial.

"I will decide what to do after the situation becomes clearer," Evan muttered before shifting his attention toward the dragon and demon corpses he had collected earlier from the battlefield.

Because he had not specifically targeted dragons, there were very few high-ranking dragon corpses among the spoils.

Out of all the dead dragons, there was only a single Rank Four dragon, while the rest were low-ranked and of little use to him.

Evan then shifted his attention toward the demon corpses, and a smile slowly spread across his face.

Other than Molar, the peak Rank Five demon whom Evan had personally killed, there were three additional Rank Five demon corpses.

Those demons had been killed by Turoon and the other Rank Five dragons after Turoon returned alongside Evan.

Apart from them, there were also eight Rank Four demon corpses—two peak Rank Fours, three middle Rank Fours, and three beginner Rank Fours.

As for Rank Three and below, there were simply too many to count, so Evan did not even bother paying attention to them.

"With these bodies, reaching the middle stage of Rank Four will be a piece of cake..."

As he muttered those words, Evan thought about the Minor Rank Advancement Orb.

Once he reached the middle stage of Rank Four, he could use it to directly advance to the peak of Rank Four.

"There will definitely be many corpses left even after I reach the peak of Rank Four. I can use the remaining bodies to increase my understanding of the conceptual energy of Life."

Using the Rune of Absorption to transform the energy inside corpses, Evan had been unable to improve his understanding of the conceptual energies of Soul and Death because he still lacked a proper reference to understand what kind of energy he needed to imitate.

But the conceptual energy of Life was different.

When Anastasia visited Eilistraea previously, she had brought back the Fruit of Life.

After eating the fruit, Evan’s understanding of the conceptual energy of Life had increased by 2%. (Chap— 1315)

At the same time, he had carefully analyzed the energy contained within the Fruit of Life.

Now, he could use the Rune of Absorption to transform the energy inside dead bodies into energy similar to that of the Fruit of Life and gradually improve his understanding of the conceptual energy of Life.

"I will first break through to the peak of Rank Four within the next few days. After that, I will use the remaining corpses to further improve my understanding of the conceptual energy of Life. Once that’s done, I will head to the Primordial Shadow Realm..."

After deciding on his next course of action, Evan immediately got to work.

He took out the corpse of a Rank Four demon and activated the Rune of Absorption.
