New Age Of Summoners

Chapter 2144: The Terrifying Danger of the Elemental Source Land

'Swiish!'

At the end of the Ancient Voice's words, all the participants were transported out of the Five Elemental Terrains and appeared in the sky where they had initially appeared when they entered the Elemental Source Land.

"Sister Nyra?"

Since Ajax, Thorne, and his team were together, they all appeared next to one another.

However, to their surprise, there was also a masked female cultivator who appeared right next to Ajax.

Seeing her, Thorne couldn't help but call out her name.

Despite the mask covering her face, Thorne recognised Nyra because the mask resembled Spectros' face.

"Brother Thorne, why are you reacting like that?"

The masked female was none other than Nyra.

She wore plain black robes that covered most of her thin body, and her long black hair reached almost half her height. Her skin was pale white, making her already thin appearance look even more fragile.

At first glance, she looked as though she had been severely malnourished for years.

Nevertheless, no one was particularly surprised by her appearance. After all, many Ghost Cultivators no longer looked human. Compared to them, Nyra's appearance was much better.

At least, she still looked like a living human.

'Woah!'

'We are back to the starting point.'

'I wonder what the rules and rewards are for the Second Round, the [Elemental Spirit Cultivator].'

On the other hand, the remaining participants were surprised by the sudden teleportation.

However, they didn't discuss it for long. Instead, they focused their attention on the sky, waiting for the Ancient Voice to explain the Second Round.

It didn't take long before the Ancient Voice resounded throughout the Elemental Source Land.

However, its announcement was not about the Second Round.

[Before we begin the Second Round, we need to send off some of the participants from the Elemental Source Land.]

The moment they heard the announcement, no one was shocked.

Everyone already knew that participants who failed to collect at least 20 Elemental Spirit Ascension Crystals from each of the five elements would be eliminated after the First Round.

Since the rewards had already been handed out, it was time for the elimination.

[Those who failed to collect the 100 Elemental Spirit Ascension Crystals will be kicked out of the Elemental Source Land.]

As soon as the Ancient Voice finished speaking, around a dozen participants disappeared from their places without leaving a trace.

Some participants glanced at the empty spaces where those people had been standing, but nobody paid much attention to them.

After all, they had already known the consequences of failing to meet the requirements.

However, Ajax's expression changed slightly when he witnessed their disappearance.

'Nyra, you said you left some of your Elemental Spirit Clones outside the Elemental Source Land, right?'

Ajax silently transmitted his voice to Nyra, who was standing right next to him.

'Yes, Brother Ajax.'

Nyra nodded her head.

'Good. Can you confirm whether the participants who disappeared just now have appeared safely outside?'

Even though there had been no major problems with the Elemental Source Land so far, Ajax couldn't shake off the strange feeling he had experienced when entering it.

Something had felt off about the Elemental Source Land from the beginning.

The reason why the Elemental Source Land was so attractive to cultivators wasn't just because of the cultivation resources and heaven-defying items found inside. There was another important reason.

Compared to many secret realms and treasure lands, the survival rate of the Elemental Source Land was much higher.

Of course, if they were weak, they could still die.

Just as some participants had been killed by Elemental Beasts, others had died at the hands of their fellow participants.

Nevertheless, the dangers inside the Elemental Source Land were much lower than those in many other treasure lands.

It was also for this reason that various forces sent their geniuses here to gain valuable opportunities.

'Even though the Elemental Source Lands I previously entered were all low-level ones and this one is a High-level Elemental Source Land, I have a bad feeling about this particular Elemental Source Land.'

Ajax couldn't help but recall the numerous requirements needed to enter this place, which only allowed Summoners to enter.

Moreover, the news about the Sentient Flame inside the Elemental Source Land had spread throughout the universe, attracting the attention of countless powerful forces.

Even though everyone knew the Elemental Source Land was filled with treasures and opportunities, no one really knew exactly what was inside an Elemental Source Land until they entered.

With so many powerful cultivators gathering there, Ajax couldn't help but wonder whether something unusual was going on.

He wanted to confirm his gut feeling before dismissing it as unnecessary worry.

A few moments later, Nyra replied.

'Brother Ajax, I confirmed with my Elemental Spirit. The participants who disappeared have safely appeared outside the Elemental Source Land.'

'Huh?'

Ajax was momentarily stunned.

That wasn't the reply he had expected.

'Did I overthink things?'

He shook his head and decided that perhaps his instincts were misleading him this time.

After all, if the participants had safely returned outside the Elemental Source Land, there shouldn't be anything wrong.

'Wait a second, Brother Ajax.'

However, before Ajax could dismiss his doubts completely, Nyra's voice sounded in his head once again.

'The participants... they're claiming that they have lost all their Elemental Spirits!'

'What?'

Ajax's eyes widened slightly.

'All their Elemental Spirits? Are you sure?'

'Yes, Brother Ajax. My Elemental Spirit is communicating with its clones outside. According to them, the participants who were just eliminated have lost all their contracted Elemental Spirits.'

Nyra's voice was no longer as casual as before.

Even she found it difficult to believe such an unbelievable piece of information.

After all, those participants had merely failed to meet the requirements for the First Round. They had not committed any serious crime, nor had they violated any rules.

So why would they lose all their Elemental Spirits?

'How is that possible?'

Ajax frowned.

Elemental Spirits were the foundation of a Summoner's strength. Losing all of them was no different from crippling a cultivator who relied on them for battle.

Although Ajax's own Elemental Spirits were sealed and he could not use them temporarily, it was completely different from losing them.

Even if the participants had failed to collect enough crystals, they shouldn't have suffered such a terrifying consequence.

'Wait...is this Elemental Source Land targeting the Elemental Spirits of the Summoners?'

Suddenly, Ajax recalled the requirements that allowed only Summoners to enter the Elemental Source Land.

'Or, to be more accurate, it is not the Elemental Source Land but someone who is using it to steal the Elemental Spirits from the eliminated participants.'

Ajax's expression turned solemn.

Moreover, if that were true, the participants who had been eliminated might not be the only ones in danger.

He hurriedly looked towards the sky, where the Ancient Voice had yet to announce the beginning of the Second Round.

'Just who can use the Elemental Source Land to steal the Elemental Spirits?'

Ajax was not scared to fight an extremely powerful enemy; instead, he was worried about a cunning enemy who didn't reveal himself.

'Looks like I need to be careful and make sure I don't get eliminated until I find out more about this Elemental Source Land.'

There was nothing Ajax could do in his current situation other than make sure he didn't get eliminated.

[There is another thing I need to ask before we begin the Second Round [Elemental Spirit Cultivator].]

.

.

In the next second, the Ancient Voice said something that made Ajax thoroughly shocked, but at the same time, his eyes lit up.
