Nexus Ascension: My Comprehension Defies the Heaven

Chapter 475: Another civilization?

Chapter 475: Another civilization?

"It is the cosmic measurement of how fast a transcendent entity can move. The speed of light is no longer a viable metric at this level. Hence, 1A stands for a velocity that can cross an entire galaxy and arrive at the neighboring one in five minutes. There is also 1S, which measures raw strength and attack power. A rating of 1S means the cultivator can destroy a complete star region with sheer physical force. 1D stands for defense, meaning the body can withstand the explosive force of a collapsing star region."

"These stats will naturally increase with your cultivation rank. But nowadays, elite prodigies usually start at a rating of 2 upon reaching the 6th Rank, thanks to improved cultivation technology and refined power systems. Of course, not everything can be perfectly equalized. Some experts only have high numbers in one specific category if they follow an extreme path. A berserker might have 2S in strength, but only 0.1D in defense," the Yellow Ancestor explained while calmly stroking his long beard.

"What is your index scale?" Grey inquired curiously.

"Mine? Hahahaha. We 8th Rankers do not use those rudimentary scales. That index is strictly for the 6th and 7th Ranks," the Yellow Ancestor said with a hearty chuckle.

"Then where can I find this so-called measurement machine to test myself?" Grey tilted his head.

"There should be one located in the Dragon World you just conquered today, or back at the Arclight’s main mansion. Your parents are both peak 6th Rankers, after all."

"Come. I will take you to meet the other ancestors."

Whoosh!

The Yellow Ancestor waved his hand. Space folded seamlessly, and Grey instantly found himself in a grand hall where several figures sat staring at a gigantic television screen. There were five of them in total.

"Sigh... cosmic television is so boring these days. I am getting tired of waiting for the next chaos event."

"It has only been a single cosmic week. How can you get so bored? We have lived for a hundred million years. You still have the impatience of a literal child."

"I want a Chaos Body now! Where is my Chaos Body?!"

"I will one day cut down the universe with my terrifying might. Then, the Origin Will shall not be able to suppress me."

"Do you men only ever think about destruction?"

"Everyone. He is here," the Yellow Ancestor announced upon their arrival. He then began to introduce the eccentric group.

"Grey, the one watching the screen is the Crimson Ancestor. The one that spoke to him is the Void-Severing Ancestor. The one throwing a tantrum about a Chaos Body is the Thousand-Lotus Ancestor. And the beautiful miss over there is the Silver-Moon Ancestor, who also happens to be my wife."

"Hello." Grey looked at them awkwardly.

Seeing the Silver-Moon Ancestor among a group of old men was a rather confusing sight. For a brief moment, he had even assumed this attractive young lady in her mid-twenties was some sort of kept woman that they all shared. He quickly banished that dangerous thought.

These 8th Rankers could probably read minds, right? Fortunately, he was exempt from such probing. His frequential power masked his inner thoughts flawlessly. Frequency was conceptually superior to ordinary energy.

"So this is the young man who brought out the Beast of Finality." The Silver-Moon Ancestor chuckled softly as she rose from her seat and floated toward him.

She observed him up close, her gaze piercing. "Not bad. You are a very healthy individual. I am sure you can produce many strong babies."

"Senior, I am still a minor," Grey replied, his expression darkening.

"..." Every single ancestor in the hall suddenly froze. Including the Silver-Moon Ancestor.

"What?!" they all shouted in perfect unison, their eyes widening in sheer disbelief.

They peered straight through his physical vessel to examine his soul. His soul age was barely pushing eighteen! This was completely unheard of.

"I was quite surprised by it myself," the Yellow Ancestor laughed heartily. "Maybe our universe actually has some hope left."

"Anyways. Let us get down to business."

He snapped his fingers. Space shifted again, and they were suddenly seated around a grand circular table, all staring intently at Grey.

"Now. Can we see the Crown of Finality?" the Silver-Moon Ancestor asked.

"Sure." Grey was casual about it. The entire cosmos had already witnessed it on the broadcast, so showing them would not make a difference.

The Crown of Finality surged out from his core. Immediately, the laid-back expressions of the ancestors shattered.

"Kid... are you certain that you can control this?" the Yellow Ancestor asked with deep uncertainty after feeling the crown’s oppressive aura.

"Yes, I can," Grey stated firmly. "You experts can see the river of time. That means you must know this universe was heading straight toward inevitable finality. But check it again." Grey instructed them casually.

This was the exact reason he agreed to come here. He needed to prove to these ancient powerhouses that he was not a cosmic threat and that he was fully in control.

The ancestors frowned. Their eyes flashed with profound cosmic light for a split second as they peered into the timestream. Their expressions quickly condensed into pure awe.

"The impending finality..." the Void-Severing Ancestor muttered.

"It is completely gone," the Crimson Ancestor finished with a stunned look.

Everyone looked at Grey, then over to the Beast of Finality, then back to Grey.

"It is true." They all blinked at the young man in silence.

"Told you," Grey said with a small smile. "Well, that clears things up, right? Can I leave now?"

They all continued to stare at him intently.

"Not quite yet," the Silver-Moon Ancestor suddenly flashed a dazzling smile.

Seeing that look, Grey immediately got a terrible feeling in his gut.

"Are you aware of how truly vast our universe is?" the Yellow Ancestor asked, his tone turning serious.

"It is pretty vast based on what you explained earlier," Grey tilted his head. "Why?"

"Well, it turns out there is more than one human civilization residing in our starry sky," the Yellow Ancestor explained, his eyes flashing with a complicated light.

"The original founder of the alliance always warned us that there were more humans out there, even after we unified all the known territories into the Pan-Cosmic Alliance. We sent probes and elite evolvers into the deepest depths of the cosmos, but they were never able to find them. However, with recent events, the universal boundaries have been rapidly shifting. As a result, a brand new sector of the starry sky has finally opened up to us."

"It is a place collectively known as the Myriad Gates. There are myriad races thriving there just like ours. Among them are humans, and the humans native to that sector are vastly stronger than the ones in our parts."

The Yellow Ancestor paused to let the weight of the information settle.

"To put it into perspective, a planet sits inside a solar system. A solar system sits inside a star region. A star region is housed inside a galaxy, and a galaxy is part of a massive galaxy cluster inside a domain which was once our observable universe. But even more sections have just become visible to us. It is covered in a thin barrier similar to ours. If we are not mistaken, the Origin Will was actively hiding that specific domain from us until now. And emerging from that place are people far more terrifying than us."
