Nexus Ascension: My Comprehension Defies the Heaven

Chapter 477: Terrifying might of espers

Chapter 477: Terrifying might of espers

"What about the Esper path? It has come to my attention that there are significantly fewer Espers across the starry sky. Why are they so rare?"

"It is because the Origin Will is actively suppressing the birth of new Espers," the Yellow Ancestor explained. "They are simply far too terrifying for this universe to contain."

"That is especially true once they reach the 6th Rank."

"For an Esper, the physical body is merely a fragile vessel containing their Sea of Consciousness. To reach the 5th Rank, known as the Origin Singularity Realm, they must forcibly compress their boundless mental sea until it collapses inward. This destroys their physical brain and replaces it with a quantum singularity of pure thought, allowing their mind to exist entirely independent of flesh."

"To advance to the 6th Rank, the Solipsism Realm, they must invert this singularity," he continued, his voice steady. "An Esper projects their compressed Sea of Consciousness outward to physically overlap with the universe, encompassing a multi-star region. They literally force their internal mindscape to overwrite local reality.

"Along with it, the initial ability they awakened as an evolver transforms into a conceptual power above all natural laws. To reach the peak of this realm, where they generate enough psychic weight to shatter an entire galaxy, they must continuously devour the stellar mass of those stars.

"Digesting physical planets and suns expands their singularity, which has been sublimated by their sixth metamorphosis. The swallowed stellar mass is then converted directly into sprawling webs of neural networks within their mind."

"The 7th Rank is the Sovereign Matrix Realm. Achieving this requires the Esper to completely shatter the boundary between the self and the cosmos. They must detonate their mental singularity, scattering their Sea of Consciousness to weave their neural pathways directly into the cosmic web. By merging their mind with the dark matter of the universe, their brainwaves act as the new physical laws over immense distances. With a single focused thought, a 7th Rank Esper can collapse multiple galaxy clusters, crushing them within the terrifying grip of their expanded mind."

"They are that terrifying?" Grey blinked. This was way beyond his initial expectations.

To collapse multiple galaxy clusters with just a thought could only be achieved by aligning their brainwaves with the galaxies themselves, using their expanded neural network as a root to control all directions of space.

It was eerily similar to his own Thought Demolishing Frequency. But his frequential powers did not require that many complicated steps. Given sufficient energy that would not instantly detonate his Source from an overload, he could already crush galaxies right now.

Of course, his physical form would crumble before he could actually witness the aftermath.

His Event Horizon simply was not robust enough yet. The only reason he could eliminate the Dragon Monarch so easily was due to the massive energy battery provided by the Beast of Finality.

"Well then, can I head out now? I still need to catch up with a few people I have not seen for a few months."

"Wait a few moments," the Silver-Moon Ancestor spoke up. "Before you leave, we need to clarify something. You will help us with the Gene Domain, right?"

She smiled gleefully. "Surely you will help us?"

"What is in it for me?" Grey inquired smoothly. "I do not do things for free. I can conquer a domain for you if you pay the right price. Everything is a business transaction, after all."

"We can arrange something. We will personally give you anything you need in return for helping us secure the other domain," the Yellow Ancestor promised with a smile.

"Deal," Grey smiled.

Personally getting anything he wanted was without a doubt a fantastic bargain. What he needed right now was rapid growth, and rapid growth did not come without a heavy cost. These ancient ancestors would be able to provide the necessary resources to aid his future breakthroughs. They were beings capable of massive cosmic destruction, after all.

Back on the Origin Planet, the next day arrived.

The populace had largely recovered from the apocalyptic incident from yesterday. With Melissa and Wang Lin safely relocated, Alissa also returned to the stadium. With her arrival, the grand tournament was officially kickstarted once again. This time, there were no unexpected mishaps from the Abyss.

The Yellow Ancestor had already sealed the planetary airspace to ensure order.

"AND THE WINNER FOR THE 18-20 BRACKET IS NONE OTHER THAN ALISSA EVERNIGHT!"

The announcer’s voice boomed, and everyone across the stadium cheered wildly.

Alissa was overwhelmingly powerful. Powerful to the point that she was capable of effortlessly crushing the current protagonist of this era, Evan.

"It is fine. At least you tried. That girl is on a completely different level. She is not someone you can mess with through ordinary means," Xia Qingyue consoled from within Evan’s necklace.

"I know." Evan looked at Alissa on the other side of the arena with twitching lips. Her raw power was just too ridiculous!

"I won." Alissa looked around at the crowds cheering her name. Yet she did not feel much satisfaction.

Where did this hollow feeling stem from? She knew the exact reason.

It was because of a peculiar existence in this universe. A being entirely untouchable by his peers. Grey, the transmigrator who took over the body of the Arclight family’s son.

She once foolishly believed that after reaching the starry sky, she could lessen the gap between them. But the gap only widened. His level of conceptual power was something she could not even dream of reaching right now.

She had already awakened her first Source Treasure, a draconic claw that could passively negate law attacks. That was exactly why she won against Evan in the first place, despite him holding multiple laws at major comprehension.

Then, another announcement rang out.

"JERMIAH HAS WON THE 21-22 BRACKET! Let us give him a huge round of applause!"

Amidst the deafening cheers, the experts in the VIP seats were all staring fixedly at the space near the Grand Arbiter. Standing right there was a figure that stood out from the surroundings like a blazing sun.

Everything else compared to him looked like a glaring imperfection. Grey was observing the battlefield below with a thoroughly bored look on his face.

The Grand Arbiter trembled as he eyed the colossal Beast of Finality resting silently beneath Grey’s feet. The other emperors and sect leaders equally sucked in cold breaths.

He actually came back. The suffocating pressure he brought with him was even heavier than yesterday.

"He is back," Anderson heaved a deep sigh of relief.

"Son! You’re back!" Angela shouted out the instant she saw him.

Normally, a strict elder would have stepped forward to reprimand her for breaking decorum. But today, no one dared to utter a single word. Why? Because Grey Arclight was standing right there.

He swept his gaze across the stadium. By now, everyone, including Evan and Alissa, had noticed his imposing arrival.

"The tournament reward is the Reality Crystal containing the Myriad Laws of Chaos, correct?" Grey turned to the Grand Arbiter, who nodded stiffly.

"Hand it over," Grey commanded with a light smile.

The Grand Arbiter wore a bewildered expression, but he dared not refuse. He pulled out the glowing crystal and handed it to Grey.

Catching the priceless artifact, Grey vanished and reappeared right next to Jeremiah, who looked at him with trembling pupils.

"Congratulations on winning, my dear brother. I am sure you worked incredibly hard for it," Grey praised with a cheerful smile.

To the spectating crowds, it looked like a heartwarming scene of one supportive brother encouraging the other.

’I know you are a system user, buddy,’ Grey’s telepathic voice struck Jeremiah’s mind like a hammer.

The older brother visibly began to tremble at an alarming rate.

’I will deal with you later. Stay put within the Arclight family estate. If you step one foot outside the Pan-Cosmic Human Alliance territory, I will consider you a threat and erase you. So be obedient and wait for me to come back. Now, smile for the cameras and stop shaking like a coward.’ Grey maintained his bright, supportive smile as he turned to wave at the floating broadcast drones.

The entire cosmos was watching this scene, but that was perfectly fine. He was a recognized Nexus Saint now. Receiving a reward directly from a Saint was a monumental achievement for anyone.

He then blurred across the arena, arriving next to Alissa, who was giving him a fierce glare.

"I do not want you to hand me the prize," Alissa huffed, crossing her arms. "You bad guy."

"How sad. Even after saving you countless times, you still treat me so coldly. As your husband, is this how you treat me, dear wife?" Grey teased shamelessly.

"WHAT?!" Juli, who was standing not too far away, completely froze. Miwa reacted the exact same way.

Up in the VIP area, Angela wore a bewildered expression, while Wang Lin and Melissa just chuckled at the scene below.

Boom! A terrifying, icy dragon claw shot toward Grey with immense speed. Grey casually dodged it with a playful smirk. As he sidestepped, he looked at Alissa, whose face had turned as red as a tomato from sheer embarrassment and flustered anger.

"In front of everyone?!" Alissa squeaked. She knew he was referring to the intimate moment when she was undergoing her second metamorphosis, and she could not help but feel her pride burning up.

"I will kill you, Grey!" Alissa lunged at him.

Grey just chuckled softly. Immediately, space warped tightly around him, Evan, and Alissa. In a flash of cosmic light, the three of them disappeared from the stadium.

Before leaving, he sent a quick telepathic message telling Anderson and Angela to stay put. For now, there were a few important things he needed to clear up.

It was finally time to meet Xia Qingyue. The fallen cosmic powerhouse.
