Chapter 525: Nine-Planar Formation, The World Tree and Elf Allaince
After going back, he found Aerin, his beautiful elf disciple whom he took in for formation-related matters. He had a lot of disciples now, having one disciple for blacksmithing, two for formations, and one for the evolutionary path.
Hopefully he would not randomly gain a disciple for alchemy after this trip to the Elf Alliance.
"You are here, Master," Aerin greeted him. She and Werner were always together, sharing insights into formations with each other.
As for him, he had lost touch with formations for a while.
But would he lose to other formation masters? The answer was no.
His [Heaven Severing Barrier] was one of his most powerful arrays. It could remotely remove the presence of the Heavenly Dao from the world. It could also be used to hide oneself from prying eyes and even enemies.
This was upgraded from the [Heaven Parting Barrier], which was a complex five-star formation with 3,003,450 convergence points.
But he could map out an array with even more convergence points.
It was all about balancing them. With the unparalleled calculation of his source, his own server and mind interface, and the Mecha race’s ability of analysis, he could come up with the perfect blueprint for a multi-layered formation.
"You guys got any new arrays for me?" Grey inquired with a small smile.
"We were observing the barrier array that sorts out enemies and allies. Its functioning is very complex. We cannot quite get our heads around it," Werner said while rubbing his beard.
"Hm." Grey nodded. "Let me have a look."
The formation was etched onto a diagram. It was a diagram containing endless space. The formation itself contained so many convergence points that a small diagram could not possibly contain it; it would need space equivalent to a planet.
The formation was called the [Nine-Planar Formation]. It was high grade, so its complexity was naturally going to be intense.
It utilized nine formation flags of the fifth rank, and they acted as amplifiers themselves.
"It is layered with multiple other arrays. Hm..." Grey was thoughtful.
His source was rapidly calculating this huge complex structure, and soon he was able to understand its total convergence points.
It was a whopping 1,203,496 points. Of course, it was the same rank as his [Heaven Severing Barrier], which was a high-grade five-star formation, but this used fewer convergence points due to the nine formation flags.
These formation flags and convergence points equally distributed the inputted power across all layers and patterns.
These convergence points were, of course, made precisely in the patterns of the grand array.
This one in particular had many. Formation masters added conceptual layers to an array if there was more than one function to it.
For example, this one in particular had four levels. The first one was a barrier-type pattern. The inscription was made in an intricate way to awaken the hidden workings of heaven to form a defensive barrier on a large scale. It traced its way into the formation flag, which relocated its powers and merged it with the second layer.
The second layer contained a scan-type pattern. It sent down an alert to the barrier-type pattern in the first layer when it detected something that was not recorded and engraved into the inscriptions of the third layer, initiating the barrier.
The third layer, as mentioned, translated the essence of something into array inscriptions or patterns. Right now, it was empty. Grey gave the third layer of the formation his human essence, and it locked onto it. It would now allow humans into the barrier, but anything else would be repelled.
"But, this essence conversion into a pattern... the person who made this is a genius."
Converting one’s essence and incorporating it into a formation inscription line filled with convergence points was no easy task.
Whoever made it was truly a genius.
But Grey could do the same. Translating essence into inscription lines, he could understand any pattern in an instant. In fact, he could complete the process even faster with reality bending.
But the question Werner and Aerin had was how they differentiated specific people rather than an entire race.
Everything in this world had a pattern, including the biological structure and even the energical structure. That was where the fourth layer came in. This was a recording and storage-type pattern. It could record plenty of data and store it similar to a computer. This included the specific structural data of an individual. That was where the second layer containing the scan-type pattern came into play; it cross-referenced with the fourth layer.
In essence, the person controlling this layer would be able to easily remove or set trigger warnings.
"Genius." Grey was satisfied with this formation.
Each of the four layers contained 300,874 convergence points that totaled up to the 1,203,496 total convergence points in this array.
Having understood the array, Grey conveyed his insights to the others.
Surprisingly, they were able to gain enlightenment on it and successfully comprehended it.
"Guess I am a good teacher after all." Grey clicked his tongue in wonder.
"Anyways, Aerin, contact your elders. We are setting off to the Elf Alliance."
"Eh?" The beautiful elf showed a look of surprise.
Soon, they set off.
This time, with him came Xia Qingyue, Alissa, Aerin, Julie, and surprisingly, Alan.
Xia Qingyue tagged along because her Soul Nourishing Jade was actually related to the World Tree. Alissa and Julie tagged along because they had nothing better to do. Alan, on the other hand, stated he was curious about the tree himself, as he had never explored the mysteries of the tree before.
Soon, their Dragon Monarch spaceship tore through space as they arrived in the Elf Alliance territory. The Elf Alliance could be noticed from a long distance because the top of the World Tree was clearly displayed. It was the only part of the tree visible to the universe, and this place was said to be the central point of the endless reality.
Of course, that was just an assumption, not confirmed yet.
