Chapter 543: Reality Ship, Traversal
Chapter 543: Reality Ship, Traversal
As soon as Alan Benson entered the information layer, he almost started bawling his eyes out.
"So this is the information layer. Finally!" he exclaimed, showing a wide variety of overwhelming emotions. Tears of pure joy welled up in his eyes as he stared at the endless, cascading rivers of glowing data.
To the technologically advanced parts of the world, accessing the information layer was the ultimate end goal. For Alan Benson, the brilliant creator of the Esper path, this was his lifelong dream realized.
"Alright. That is enough for now," Grey replied speechlessly. This grown man was acting like a parched traveler who had not seen a drop of water in days.
"It is time to form your anchor. Without the anchor, your stay here will be extremely short, and you will have to expend a massive amount of power just to come back here each time."
"Now, forming an anchor is not easy. You need to be extra careful," Grey warned.
He believed his Information Layer Transcendence Technique was immaculate. As long as Alan Benson followed it perfectly, it should be entirely possible.
However, as soon as Alan began the delicate process of anchor creation, something completely unexpected happened.
Alan blew up.
"What the hell?" Grey quickly descend down and looked down at Alan’s physical body. The man was clutching his head, groaning in pain, and swaying dizzily on his feet.
"Why did it not work?" Grey frowned. This severe rejection went completely beyond his expectations.
He had perfectly aligned the technique’s frequency to suit human biology and soul structure.
"Could it be that even with a perfect technique, it is just impossible?" Grey was genuinely baffled.
He keenly remembered what Eternal had told him. The information layer had never been accessed by a human before. Grey was the very first one to do so. Now, even with his comprehensive mind compiling a perfectly suitable technique to form an anchor, the realm still violently rejected Alan.
It made complete sense why he was the first human. The endless reality was vast, and many geniuses must have tried similar methods over the eons. The fact that none succeeded meant there was a fundamental, unyielding barrier.
"Do not worry, Master Grey. I do not mind it too much," Alan said with a wry smile, slowly recovering his balance. "I can at least enter the information layer now. My stay there will not be long, but if it comes down to it, I will just burn more of my energy to stay there for longer intervals."
"Hm." Grey nodded thoughtfully. "I will try to get to the bottom of this. Do not worry."
"Everything can be changed."
He was not wrong.
Grey just needed to meet a member of the Mecha race. Once that happened, he would immediately gather their core data, the very essence that made them unique existences with innate access to the layer.
All he had to do then was make Alan form a source and convert that specific racial data into Alan’s foundation. He would essentially rewrite reality to make Alan a part of the Mecha race.
Grey was a creator through and through. There was nothing that could stop his ambition.
This was exactly how he was going to solve Alissa’s life threatening issue with the law rejection. He would find Jasmine, copy her Future One data, refine it, compile it, and seamlessly integrate it into Alissa’s source. Of course, for that to work flawlessly, she would have to switch to his evolutionary path. She currently followed the True Dragon evolutionary path, which lacked the boundless adaptability of his own.
After this realization, Grey went to meet Valeria. It was time to help her reach the fifth rank of his path.
As soon as he found her, they spent some quiet, comfortable time together in the serene gardens of the domain.
"Grey, I kind of want to see this Phoenix race," Valeria mentioned softly, looking up at the sky.
"The Phoenix race, huh?" Grey nodded with a knowing smile.
He already had some grand plans for Valeria. Now that he could alter and even modify someone’s fundamental race as if it were nothing, he could do the same for her.
And for that, he planned on making her a True Source Phoenix.
As Kaelith had mentioned, there were not just True Source Dragons out there; there was also the True Source Phoenix. He would find one, extract its primal data, and bestow it upon Valeria.
His evolutionary path was perfectly compatible with every race. As long as he acquired a higher level of data, he could effortlessly incorporate even the most mythical powers unique to those ancient beings.
Soon after their conversation, Valeria smoothly made the transition to his path.
As for finding the Phoenix, that would have to come after their trip to the other universe using the reality ship.
Grey was mildly afraid Jasmine might die of old age if he did not go pick her up soon. Universes had highly localized time flows, after all. Only certain connected parts of the endless reality shared a synchronized time.
He also wanted to acquire more treasures of divinity from the gods, as well as a Source Treasure from Alissa.
Soon, it was time to set off. Alan had already prepared the Reality Ship in the grand hangar.
For this multiversal journey, the passenger list was quite extensive. Coming with him were Werner, his grand disciples, Julie, Miwa, Xia Qingyue, Lia, Little Hong, Valeria, Alissa, and Eterna, who had already securely placed her consciousness inside a highly advanced pocket server belonging to the Mecha race.
"This ship is not much different from the ones you utilize in this universe, except that it possesses the advanced capabilities to map out the chaotic routes and navigate the infinite distance outside the universes," Alan explained, gesturing to the sleek, metallic vessel radiating a soft, pulsing aura.
"All of this is powered exclusively by Origin Power. Without it, the ship simply will not work."
The Origin Power reserves of the ship were sitting at exactly one hundred percent right now.
"A full hundred percent in Origin Power for this specific vessel, which is classified as a Low-Grade Reality Ship, means that I can use it to travel one hundred times between neighboring universes."
"If it were a Mid-Grade or High-Grade ship, it could run two hundred jumps at Mid-Grade and four hundred at High-Grade."
"Of course, that is just the general standard. The specific coordinates you have given me, Master Grey, require exactly five percent of our total charge to reach safely."
"Oh." Grey nodded swiftly. That fuel economy made perfect sense.
"Then, shall we get going?"
Alan nodded firmly. He was the designated commander of the ship.
The hum of the engines vibrated through the hull as the sleek Reality Ship rose into the air, piercing through the atmosphere and shooting gracefully out of the Nexus domain, diving straight into the boundless unknown.
