Nexus Ascension: My Comprehension Defies the Heaven

Chapter 576: Islode, The earth transmigrator’s shock

Chapter 576: Islode, The earth transmigrator’s shock

Grey went back to the Nexus Domain with Tian Mo in tow. He was not just going to let the beast walk free. He planned to seal him away at the core of the planet.

Once that was done, Grey returned to the tower to reassure everyone. They had naturally witnessed the commotion outside. Thankfully, everything went well, and he managed to retrieve a fragment of the Chaos Source Codex, making his artifact more complete.

Now, all that was left was uploading his new evolutionary path to the Human Alliance repository. He did this mainly to promote his path and help it reach more people, since his existing pathstriders could already draw the information directly from the Creator Space branch he had established.

The seventh rank was definitely going to make massive waves in the Human Alliance.

Speaking of which, he had also spread his path into the Myriad Gates. He wondered how that went.

He would check on Andrew at a later date to see if there was any progress. If not, he was sufficiently powerful enough to show off his path himself. The true scale of his power had not even been fully revealed yet.

He swiftly entered the Information Layer and, with Eve and Eterna’s help, uploaded the path.

"I doubt you need any privileges as a citizen of the Human Alliance anymore, you monster," Eve said while rolling her eyes. "You are just way too overpowered."

"Thanks?" Grey tilted his head, replying with a dry look on his face.

"Hmph." Eve shooed him away. "Now go away."

Grey chuckled and left the area.

However, as soon as he left the Information Layer, Alan and Kaelith came forward with twitching lips.

"We have a situation."

"What is it now?" Grey’s lips twitched.

Why were people randomly spawning in to take his stuff? He genuinely felt like crying right now.

Grey scanned the outside world. There stood the Spirit Ancestor alongside a beautiful girl with a slightly angered expression.

"Grey Lockhart. Come out and hand over the Holy Corpse’s power right now!"

Isolde did not want to waste more time than necessary on this backwater planet. She planned to approach the man and take the power by force if he did not comply with her request. She was prepared for that, and besides, she did not think anyone here could defeat her. This universe did not have any ninth rankers, after all. She was invincible here.

"What if I do not want to?"

Just then, she heard a voice from behind her. She turned around to see Grey, Alan, and Kaelith standing there together.

Isolde, however, was immediately captivated by the presence of the young man in the middle. Not only was he extremely handsome, but he gave off a pressure that made her deeply uncomfortable.

The instant that thought crossed her mind, her eyes widened. She felt a sense of oppression from a puny seventh ranker? Was that not absolutely absurd? She could not believe it.

She looked at Grey coldly.

"Hand over the power of the Holy Corpse. You do not want to mess with our organization," Isolde said. "If you do, then it will not just be you. The people on your planet will suffer too."

Of course, she was not actually going to do all that. She was not that ruthless. She just wanted Grey to hand over the power through intimidation. These words should easily get through the head of a common man who cared for others. The fact that he was the lord of the planet meant he should care at least a little bit about its safety. There was no question about that.

She then unleashed her aura. Boundless Dao Generation power erupted from her, rushing toward them without pause.

Grey remained completely unfazed.

Another half-step Dao Generation? Grey was speechless. He did not even need to push his Nexus Overclock to fifteen hundred percent to deal with her.

He turned toward the Spirit Ancestor and spoke. "What is the meaning of this, Spirit Ancestor? I did not expect you to betray me like this."

"It is not like that," the Spirit Ancestor tried to hurriedly explain. "I did not think things would come to this point. I was genuinely trying to hide your identity."

Grey was taken aback upon hearing this. Hide his identity? He glanced closely at Isolde. Was she an Earth transmigrator?

"Isolde Starlight?" Grey suddenly became shocked upon recognizing her. "Like the pop idol Isolde Starlight who died from an accidental electricity discharge?"

Isolde herself paused in her tracks and looked at Grey, completely dumbfounded.

"You... are you an Earth transmigrator?"

She could not believe it. This person was an Earth transmigrator!

But how the hell did she not recognize him? She knew he did not recognize her aura immediately because she possessed special means to hide her origins. That was most likely why Grey did not spot it at first.

"To think you are that Isolde," Grey sighed. "You were the talk of the world after your performance at the Met Gala. But then you died one month later. A pity. You never got to realize your true potential."

"Even my school classmates used to glaze you so hard that I honestly thought you had them bewitched. Considering my grandpa was a lunatic who made me believe in supernatural stuff, I was heavily inclined to believe that."

"Did you actually have a bewitching power, Miss Isolde?" Grey asked curiously.

Isolde’s lips twitched upon hearing this. "Why would I have bewitching powers? What would I gain from bewitching a bunch of ordinary folks back on Earth?"

Isolde was clearly flustered. It felt like this guy was looking down on her, yet praising her at the same time.

Then, she discreetly checked his soul age.

"Huh? Seventeen?" She was taken aback. "You are only seventeen?"

"Yes," Grey nodded. "I will turn eighteen in three days."

"You are already at the seventh rank?" Isolde muttered. "No, wait. Who am I kidding? It must be because of the Holy Corpse."

Isolde looked at Grey with her usual cold indifference once again. For a brief moment, she had felt threatened, thinking a genius akin to herself or the boss of Helios had been born. But she had momentarily forgotten about the Holy Corpse.

"But the fact that you still have not used its remaining power to reach the tenth rank means you clearly have some left," Isolde reasoned. "Look, kid. I am not much older than you. I am only twenty-five this year. How about you hand over the power, and I will grant you a high status in Helios."

"If you become my follower, you will not be treated badly."

Grey chuckled upon hearing this.

"No thanks. If you think I will just give you the corpse, then you are horribly naive."

"I worked hard to obtain this. Do you think I would just hand it over, invalidating all the hard work I did?"

"You have a very twisted way of thinking if you believe that."

Isolde looked at Grey with a sneer. Earth transmigrators were all the same. They all awakened with some sort of system or special power, and they immediately thought of themselves as mighty and important. Now, whenever there was a new batch of Earth transmigrators, the seniors always made sure to humble the juniors a little bit so they did not become overly arrogant in the future.

Once that lesson was over, they naturally became obedient little subordinates. Now that she had reached the Dao Generation Realm, she could be considered a true senior. She decided to utilize this opportunity to humble this junior, take the Holy Corpse, and let the Spirit Ancestor handle him afterward.

"You are but a seventh ranker, kid," Isolde said with thick arrogance. "You might not know the true heights of power yet, but in the vast endless reality, a seventh ranker is nothing. I will show you the difference properly."

Boom!

Isolde closed the distance between them in a flash, ignoring Alan and Kaelith altogether.

Alan and Kaelith did not even bother intercepting her.

The very next moment, the smug look on Isolde’s face completely distorted. Grey had casually caught her striking hand with one of his own, leaving his other hand resting casually inside his hoodie pocket.

He sent pulses of Nexus Axiom power directly into her body. The following moment, Isolde became entirely unable to use her Dao energy.

"Y-You...?!" Isolde’s face erupted with a myriad of expressions in complete shock. "I cannot use my powers? Impossible! How? What did you do? What power is this?"

"Why ask such questions, Miss Isolde?" Grey chuckled. "Is it not clear what this power is?"

"You must have felt it too."

"It is my own power," Grey said as he unleashed his pressure.

The Axiom power crushed the reality around them as it descended heavily upon the universe. Isolde’s body began to tremble violently from the infinite strength radiating from Grey’s grip.

"How is this possible? How can you use ninth-rank power while being a seventh ranker? Not even the strongest eighth ranker can do anything to a ninth ranker!"

For the first time ever, Isolde’s worldview was completely shattered.
