Nexus Ascension: My Comprehension Defies the Heaven

Chapter 580: Past One, Endless Loop, We must find your grandfather

Chapter 580: Past One, Endless Loop, We must find your grandfather

"I was an ordinary salaryman in our world," Joestar spoke. "But one day, I found something special while visiting the Great Xia Kingdom in China. I discovered ancient ruins there."

"A secret realm?" Grey was taken aback. "I thought our world did not possess special powers."

"It does not," Joestar shook his head. "But you should realize the truth by now. That world is a graveyard of ancient power. This includes the fallen allies of the Chaos Emperor."

"That is how I obtained the powers of the Jade Emperor." Joestar’s aura blazed as a brilliant star formed over his eyes.

Boom!

A profound power surged through Joestar for a split second.

"This is the power of the Jade Emperor state," Joestar explained. "I still cannot use it to its absolute fullest extent. But the original Jade Emperor could control time and gravity using this exact power."

"I received this inheritance after I entered that secret realm," Joestar continued. "You could even call me the very first special evolver on Earth."

Grey was stunned. He did not expect this massive piece of information. To think he would actually meet the successor of the Jade Emperor right here.

"But how did you become a person from the past? You still have not told me about that."

"Well," Joestar nodded. "Remember the secret realm?"

Grey nodded.

"Once I came out of it, I was no longer in the modern world. I was stranded in the ancient Xia Empire, exactly ten thousand years in the past."

"Did the Jade Emperor’s powers rewind time?" Grey asked.

"It was not his power." Joestar shook his head. "I was merely pulled into a timeline that had been forcefully reset."

"Reset?" Grey was taken aback.

"Yes," Joestar replied. "Our world is trapped in a never-ending loop."

"Once it reaches the year 2025, it gets completely destroyed and resets back ten thousand years."

"I do not know why it happens. But each time the world gets reset, a new Earth transmigrator is born. The other transmigrators you have met are not from the same loop as you. We all come from completely different temporal loops."

"How can that be?" Grey frowned. "I clearly remember Isolde. She was a famous idol. You should know her too."

"I know two different versions of Isolde," the burly man shook his head.

"I actively tried to change things in the past. But history kept repeating itself without fail. There were no butterfly effects, and I was not daring enough to change the timeline massively to test the limits. So, I still do not know if history can truly be changed or not."

"I lived through that entire ten-thousand-year loop myself. I waited for the fateful day the secret realm would appear again so I could find more concrete answers."

"But in the end, the secret realm never opened again. Instead, the world just ended."

"That is exactly when I crossed over to this universe."

"But that is strange," Grey said. "I clearly did not see the world ending when I died."

"It is not exactly like that." Joestar shook his head. "The world does not end at a fixed time for everyone. It ends specifically when a Destined Person dies."

"What?" Grey was even more confused.

"Let me explain properly. The world assumed I died when I first entered the secret realm."

"I was a Destined One chosen to leave Earth. But when I came back out of the realm alive, I felt a drastic change in the cosmic forces. It was like fate itself was turning its gears."

"The world was already preparing to send the next Destined Person away. But seeing me still alive, the world panicked and focused its absolute attention on me again. It waited for ten thousand years."

"When those ten thousand years finally passed and the year 2025 arrived, the world ended. It was a direct, targeted attempt to kill me and fix its temporal mistake."

"It did not kill me directly right away. Meaning, there must be a hidden factor or a strict cosmic rule that must be followed, such as a Destined One can only officially cross over in the year 2025 or something similar."

"On that note, it eventually succeeded. I died and crossed over, and my latent Jade Emperor powers fully activated."

Then, as if realizing something crucial, he spoke again. "The original condition for the loop reset used to be that a Destined One should die specifically in the year 2025."

"But during the more recent loops, the world is getting reset in the 1900s instead," he added gravely. "I firmly believe it has something to do with the world permanently losing a fraction of its core power each time it undergoes a reset."

"Why does that even happen? And what is the ultimate purpose of sending us out of that world?" Grey frowned deeply.

His grandpa was incredibly strange, then. His grandpa died and crossed out of their world, yet the world clearly did not end or reset after he passed away.

"I think it is a pretty dumb cosmic idea," Grey spoke critically. "The world sending out people who are basically the living keys to reaching the core the Paragons are looking for is just giving those Paragons more chances to reach our home world."

"Is our world in cahoots with the Paragons?" Grey’s lips twitched. "Also, is it just me, or do all transmigrators die to sudden electrical shocks? I also died via that exact method."

"That is what I was thinking about too. I never found the real answer to that," Joestar shook his head. "It is really strange. Almost all Earth transmigrators died exactly like that."

"But that is my story, and that is how I became a Past One," he concluded.

Grey nodded slowly. To summarize, this man was an ordinary salaryman who went to China, found a hidden secret realm, entered it, and obtained the Jade Emperor’s power and enlightenment regarding his State.

Once he stepped out of the secret realm, the world had already ended and reset back ten thousand years. This happened solely because the world thought Joestar, the designated "Destined One" supposed to leave that universe for the endless reality, had died.

He was granted a long lifespan due to his latent Jade Emperor power, and the world specifically waited ten thousand more years to kill him again at the exact year 2025. Hence, he received the Past One Physique by reaching the exact same day he originally entered the secret realm, leaving the world at that overlapping point in time.

Then, the world continued looping. More and more people became Destined Ones, traveling out of the world. When they died, the world reset once again. Meaning, 2025 was the absolute maximum limit the world could reach. And nowadays, the reset trigger had regressed to the 1900s instead, meaning their Earth will never see the modern era ever again. A prime example of this earlier era was the Spirit Ancestor.

It seemed like there was much more to the center of the multiverse than he initially expected.

That was exactly when his heaven-defying comprehension stirred.

[Your comprehension defies the heavens! By realizing the endless loop of the center of the universe, you have gained insight into the Convergence Principles.]

Grey frowned upon seeing this prompt. Convergence Principles? What was that?

His current level of insight was too low for him to understand anything concrete about this concept.

Looks like I need to find my grandpa, Grey mumbled internally. Maybe he had more substantial leads regarding this grand mystery. The Arclight Immortal and the Zenith Heaven.

"Do you know how to get to the Zenith Heaven?" Grey asked curiously.

"The Zenith Heaven?" Joestar raised a thick eyebrow. "How do you know about that place, friend?"

"My grandfather is from there." Grey decided to trust this burly man and tell him a bit about his grandfather’s strangeness.

"There was such a thing?" Joestar looked surprised. "You are the Fateless One; hence, it cannot be a different loop either. Since the world you exist in is the prime reality, you cannot exist in alternate timelines or fragmented realities." Joestar rubbed his chin in deep thought.

"We must find your grandfather, friend," Joestar replied seriously.

"I believe I know exactly where to find the people of Zenith Heaven and transcend there. But before we go anywhere near that place, you must reach the tenth rank or higher," Joestar stated.

"I can arrange that," Grey nodded confidently. The tenth rank was relatively easy for him now. He could achieve it in just a few days of dedicated research.

"But I would need your help," Grey proposed.

"I can help you," Joestar nodded without hesitation. "Every single Earth transmigrator in Helios will help you reach it."

"You are one of the most important players in this endless reality, friend."

"I will make sure that absolutely no harm is done to you by the other two Fateless Ones while I still breathe."

Grey nodded. His overall impression of this man was even better than before.

"By the way, can you unleash your Jade Emperor power once more? I want to gain some inspiration from it."

Joestar nodded and unleashed his ancient aura.

Grey’s Chaos Lotus immediately kicked into overdrive.

Profound insight surged rapidly through his mind, and Grey suddenly wore a slightly stunned look on his face.
