Chapter 604: Alissa’s Trial
Chapter 604: Alissa’s Trial
The infinite space stretched endlessly around them, its boundaries nowhere to be seen.
Grey observed the spatial nodes expanding without limit, his eyes filled with genuine amazement.
They were stretched beyond what it was capable of and the spatial nodes were still intact.
This was the power of Infinity, the ability to make something endless without any restrictions.
Ouroboros stood calmly at the center of this boundless domain, her expression serene. She turned toward Alissa with a gentle smile.
"Fight me."
Alissa blinked. Her body immediately tensed as she processed those words.
"What?" She looked at Ouroboros with visible confusion. "Why do we need to fight?"
Ouroboros chuckled softly. "To awaken your Infinity Dragon side, of course."
The atmosphere inside the infinite space shifted immediately.
Grey’s eyes narrowed slightly as he watched the exchange. He understood what Ouroboros was planning, combat was often the fastest method to trigger hidden potential.
Alissa’s shoulders tensed further. She glanced toward Grey, uncertainty flickering in her blue eyes.
Grey gave her a small nod. He trusted Ouroboros’ judgment on this matter.
Alissa took a deep breath and turned back toward the ancient dragon. "I understand, Senior."
Ouroboros raised her hand gently before Alissa could move. "Before we begin, there is something you must understand."
She looked toward Grey with a knowing smile. "The evolution path you are currently following was created by your boyfriend, you know that right? You follow it yourself."
Alissa nodded slowly. She already knew this, Grey had personally guided her cultivation since the beginning.
"Do you understand why his path is extraordinary?" Ouroboros asked calmly.
Alissa hesitated. She had always trusted Grey’s guidance, but she had never deeply questioned the reasoning behind it.
Ouroboros continued without waiting for an answer. "Unlike ordinary cultivation paths, the one Grey created does not restrict the awakening of a person’s races. It allows every race within someone’s existence to awaken naturally instead of forcing one race to suppress another It made it possible by using frequency."
Her eyes gleamed with genuine admiration. "This is exceptionally rare, even among the ancient paths I have encountered throughout countless eras."
She turned toward Grey directly. "You thought far ahead while creating this path, young one. Your foresight and understanding surpass what many immortals achieve in millions of years."
Grey smiled faintly but remained silent.
He knew what he was capable of, hence, getting praised didn’t matter much to him.
Ouroboros looked back at Alissa. "Because of this unique path, your hidden Infinity Dragon side can fully awaken. It was never sealed or suppressed, it was simply waiting for the right moment."
She stepped forward slowly. "That moment is now. Come on, let’s fight."
Alissa moved away from Grey, creating distance between herself and Ouroboros.
The infinite space around them provided endless room for combat. There were no walls, no boundaries, only the vastness of eternity stretching in every direction.
By now, Melissa and Wang Lin had also arrived, intending to watch the battle.
Grey, Melissa, and Wang Lin quietly observed from the side. None of them spoke, the tension in the air was thick enough to silence any words.
Ouroboros stood perfectly still, her posture relaxed and casual. "Do not hold back, daughter."
Alissa nodded firmly.
Her aura erupted without warning.
Freezing energy exploded outward from Alissa’s body, spreading across the infinite space like a violent blizzard.
Her Source Law of Frost activated at full power, the temperature around her plummeting beyond what mortal senses could comprehend. Space itself began crystallizing under the extreme cold.
Alissa thrust her palm forward.
A massive ice spear materialized instantly, its surface covered in intricate frost patterns that pulsed with concentrated cold energy. It shot toward Ouroboros at blinding speed, leaving a frozen trail in its wake.
Ouroboros simply tilted her head.
The ice spear shattered before reaching her, dissolving into countless particles that scattered harmlessly into the void.
Alissa’s eyes narrowed.
Her hands moved rapidly, weaving complex patterns through the air. Dozens of ice weapons formed around her simultaneously, swords, lances, daggers, axes, each one radiating freezing intent.
She launched them all at once.
The weapons tore through space, approaching Ouroboros from every conceivable angle. Their trajectories interweaved, creating a net of frozen death that left no room for escape.
Ouroboros smiled faintly.
Every weapon stopped midair, frozen not by ice but by something far more absolute, infinity.
They hung suspended in place, unable to move forward or backward.
Alissa clenched her fists seeing this.
A frozen storm erupted from her body, engulfing the entire area in a catastrophic blizzard.
The cold intensified to a level that could freeze even energy itself, turning the infinite space into an arctic wasteland.
She raised both hands above her head.
Countless icicles formed within the storm, each one sharper than the last. They numbered in the millions, filling the frozen sky like deadly stars.
Alissa brought her hands down.
The icicles rained downward in a devastating barrage, their combined force enough to obliterate mountains.
Ouroboros watched calmly as the frozen projectiles approached.
Then she raised a single finger.
Every icicle vanished.
The icicles hadn’t shattered or melted. They simply ceased to exist, as if they had never been created in the first place.
Ouroboros stepped forward casually. "Your frost is strong, daughter. But strength alone cannot overcome Infinity. In a way, Infinity is like an advanced version of Frost."
She gestured gently with her hand.
The frozen storm surrounding them began to unravel. The ice didn’t break apart, it extended endlessly in every direction, spreading thinner and thinner until it became nothing.
Alissa felt her Source Law strain under the pressure. Her frost wasn’t being destroyed, it was being diluted into infinity.
She gritted her teeth and focused harder.
A massive ice dragon materialized above her, its crystalline scales gleaming with frozen light. The construct roared silently and charged toward Ouroboros with devastating momentum.
Ouroboros raised her palm.
The ice dragon stretched impossibly as it flew, its body elongating beyond comprehension.
It grew longer and longer, thinning out until its form became meaningless, extending toward a destination that didn’t exist.
"Infinity does not oppose your power," Ouroboros said calmly. "It simply makes your power infinite, and anything infinite becomes nothing."
Alissa couldn’t understand her words properly but she had a sharp mind.
Hence, she gathered her energy and created a concentrated sphere of absolute zero in her hands.
This attack was different, she compressed it to its smallest possible form, making it dense rather than expansive.
She hurled it toward Ouroboros.
The ancient dragon nodded approvingly. "Better."
She caught the sphere in her palm.
The frozen energy tried to expand, tried to consume, but Ouroboros held it steady.
Then she opened her hand and revealed that the sphere now contained an entire frozen universe within its boundaries.
"Like I said, Infinity works both ways," she explained. "Expansion into nothing, or compression into everything."
She flicked the sphere back toward Alissa.
Alissa barely managed to catch it, the weight of an infinite frozen dimension pressing against her palms. She dispersed it with tremendous effort, her breathing becoming heavy.
The battle continued without pause.
Alissa attacked relentlessly, utilizing every technique she had developed since awakening her as a True Source Dragon.
She created frozen barriers that stretched endlessly, ice constructs that multiplied infinitely, blizzards that covered impossible distances.
Each time, Ouroboros countered effortlessly.
She didn’t overpower Alissa with strength.
Instead, she demonstrated how Infinity rendered conventional attacks meaningless.
She was teaching while also wearing down Alissa.
Alissa’s movements began slowing.
Her Aether Frequential Energy reserves were depleting rapidly. As a Frequential lifeform, her existence ran on this energy rather than physical stamina.
Grey noticed the change immediately. Alissa’s attacks were losing stability, her ice constructs forming with visible cracks and imperfections.
Her Source Law weakened with each passing moment. The frost she generated became less intense, less controlled.
She struggled to maintain even basic techniques.
Alissa panted heavily, her form flickering slightly as her energy body strained under the pressure.
She raised her hand to create another ice spear, but it shattered before fully forming.
She was on the verge of defeat.
Ouroboros stopped attacking.
She stood perfectly still, observing Alissa with calm eyes.
"Do you feel it?"
Alissa looked up in confusion, her breathing ragged and uneven.
"Feel what?" she managed to ask.
Ouroboros smiled gently. "Ignore everything else. Ignore the exhaustion, ignore the battle, ignore your surroundings."
She stepped closer to Alissa. "Search deep within yourself."
Alissa’s brow furrowed.
"Something inside you has been responding ever since this battle began," Ouroboros continued. "Do not resist it, reach toward it."
Her voice became softer, more encouraging. "Embrace it."
"You’ve been ignoring it for far too long. Alissa. My Daughter."
Alissa steadied her breathing, trying to understand what Ouroboros meant.
Grey watched silently, his eyes focused intently on Alissa. He was analyzing the changes taking place in Alissa.
His server was already recording everything that was happening.
Alissa slowly closed her eyes.
Her consciousness turned inward, diving deep into her own existence.
She pushed past her depleted energy reserves, past her Source Law, past everything she understood about herself.
At first, she found nothing.
Only emptiness stretched before her inner sight, a void without end or beginning.
She searched deeper.
Still nothing.
Then...
Deep within the furthest reaches of her existence, she sensed something.
It was ancient.
Incomparably vast.
Something that felt both intimately familiar and completely unknown at the same time.
A presence that had slumbered for ages, waiting patiently in the depths of her soul.
Alissa’s heart trembled.
The sleeping Infinity Dragon began responding to her call.
Its presence stirred, reaching back toward her consciousness with overwhelming power.
