Chapter 630: Chaos Severance Array
Chapter 630: Chaos Severance Array
Grey’s eyes locked onto the approaching figure.
A man in dark robes stepped out of the void, his aura pressing down with the force of a Sixth-Level Twelfth-Rank expert. His eyes swept over the forming Chaos Mine, and greed flashed across his face.
"A newly formed mine," the man muttered. "And right beside a freshly ascended universe, how convenient."
He had not noticed Grey’s group yet. His full focus was on the wealth in front of him.
Grey turned to Alissa and Alan with a deadpan look on his face.
"Jump him!"
The three of them moved at once.
Alan attacked first, his peak Twelfth-Rank power slammed into the intruder like a raging sea. The man’s face changed, and he barely raised a rushed defense in time.
"What?!"
Grey appeared right in front of him.
"Nexus Overclock, 1000%."
His fist slammed into the man’s chest before he could react. The impact sent him flying through the crystallised void, smashing through several walls of solid chaos.
The man forced himself back to his feet, blood running from the corner of his mouth.
"You dare attack me? Do you know who I-"
Grey appeared beside him again.
Another punch blasted him deeper into the mine. Alan caught him in midair with a brutal kick that sent him spinning in a new direction, and Alissa followed with a burst of frozen power that sealed half his body in ice.
Their teamwork gave him no chance to fight back.
In only a few seconds, the man crashed to the ground in a broken heap, his power shook from the damage stacked on top of itself.
Grey walked over and placed a hand on the man’s forehead.
Nexus Axiom Power poured into the intruder’s body. The supreme force of perfection wrapped around his cultivation like chains and sealed away his power at its root.
The man’s face went pale.
He pushed against the seal with all his strength, but nothing moved. The more he fought, the more tired he became.
"Let me go!" he shouted. "You have no idea what you’re doing!"
Grey crouched in front of him.
"Where are you from," he asked, "and who do you work for?"
The man gritted his teeth and said nothing.
Grey’s smile stayed in place.
"I can make this very unpleasant for you," he said. "Or you can cooperate, and maybe I’ll let you live."
The man’s will broke fast.
"I’m from the Throne Alliance. My name is Daren, and I serve under High Lord Vaeros. When he learns what you’ve done, he’ll-"
"The Throne Alliance?" Alan’s face changed.
Grey looked at him.
"You know them?"
Alan gave a grim nod.
"They are far larger than the Eternal Dominion," he said. "The Throne Alliance controls more than two hundred universes in the Twelfth Plane of Existence. Their leader, High Lord Vaeros, is said to stand at the very peak of the Twelfth Rank."
"Oh," Grey said. "Then this guy is definitely not leaving our universe."
Alan nodded.
"That is for the best," he said. "If he reports this mine, the entire Throne Alliance could descend on us."
Daren’s face lost all colour.
"Wait!" he shouted. "You can’t do this! I’m a direct subordinate of High Lord Vaeros! If I vanish, he will investigate! He will find out what happened!"
Grey looked down at him with a small smile.
"He won’t find anything," he said. "Trust me."
"Please!" Daren begged. "Let me go! I’ll tell them I found nothing here! I’ll say the mine collapsed before it could fully form! I’ll-"
"No."
That one word cut him off.
Grey looked at Alan and gave a casual wave.
"Lock him away somewhere. I don’t care where."
Alan stepped forward and nodded.
"For now, I’ll keep him inside my inner cosmos," he said. "He won’t be able to escape, and he won’t be able to contact anyone from there."
Alan pressed a hand against Daren’s forehead, and the man vanished at once, pulled into the inner world inside Alan’s existence.
The mine turned quiet.
Grey stood with Alissa and looked over the vast deposit of Chaos Stones around them. Time was already pressing down on him.
Sooner or later, word of the mine would spread. Other experts would come, and without proper protection, the Unnamed Universe would lose this resource.
He needed an array, and he needed it fast.
He had gained a few solid basic Twelfth-Rank barrier arrays during his time in the Central Hub, but basic was all they were.
They could stop weak intruders. They would not survive a full assault from peak experts.
But he had something better.
The Heaven-Severing Barrier and the Nine-Planar Formation.
Both were only Fifth-Star formations, built for planetary-scale use. The Heaven-Severing Barrier cut off a region from the Heavenly Dao, while the Nine-Planar Formation used four linked layers for selective defensive measures like only targeting the essence signatures present or essences that are absent from it’s record.
Grey’s mind moved through the possibilities.
The gap between a Fifth-Star formation and a Twelfth-Star formation was massive. One worked on a planetary scale, while the other had to work across universal clusters.
Still, the core laws stayed the same. Only the scale, detail, and energy demand had to rise.
Grey entered his Lesser Heaven space and began running the design through his server.
He was going to rebuild both formations from the ground up.
The Heaven-Severing Barrier focused on isolation from higher cosmic forces. At the Twelfth Rank, that same law could be expanded until it cut the region off from Chaos itself.
The Nine-Planar Formation gave him the main frame. Its linked layers could become the base of something far stronger.
Grey started merging the two.
The original Heaven-Severing Barrier had 3,003,450 convergence points. The Nine-Planar Formation had 1,203,496 convergence points spread across four layers.
At the Twelfth Rank, those numbers had to rise to an absurd degree.
Grey tested design after design at extreme speed. He threw out flawed versions, refined the strong ones, and kept pushing until the full shape became clear.
A new formation was born in his mind.
Chaos Severance Array
Rank: Twelfth Star
Total Convergence Points: 748,363,439,788
Layer Architecture: Eight layers
Catalyst Requirements: 10,000 Low-Grade Chaos Stones
The first layer was the Primary Severance Pattern. It contained 127,080,583,718 convergence points and existed for one job only, to sever the protected region from Chaos itself.
Once active, Chaos would flow around the hidden space as if it were not there. It would not sense it, touch it, or interact with it.
The second layer was the Barrier Pattern. With 94,133,765,162 convergence points, it created defensive barriers across multiple layers of existence.
Physical force, energy attacks, conceptual strikes, and reality-altering methods would all meet resistance shaped to block them.
The third layer was the Infinite Scan Network. Its 84,720,389,146 convergence points formed a detection web that monitored all nearby dimensional layers.
It could detect enemies approaching through hidden dimensions, time-based methods, or spatial tunnelling.
The fourth layer was the Essence Translation Matrix. It also used 84,720,389,146 convergence points.
Its role was to read and translate essence signatures on a multiversal scale, then judge whether a target was ally, enemy, or unknown.
The fifth layer was the Chaos Reflection Protocol. It held 94,133,765,162 convergence points.
If an attack somehow pushed past the earlier layers, this layer could seize that force and send it back through Chaos toward its source. It could only do this once before that part of the layer needed to recover.
The sixth layer was the Temporal Stasis Field. Its 84,720,389,146 convergence points could slow time in chosen parts of the outer perimeter.
That gave defenders more room to react against fast or sudden attacks.
The seventh layer was the Recording and Analysis Core. With 94,133,765,162 convergence points, it acted as the brain of the entire formation.
It stored information on allies, enemies, attack types, and active conditions, then sent orders to the other layers based on what it learned.
The eighth layer was the Power Distribution Hub. Its 84,720,393,146 convergence points controlled the flow of energy through the entire formation.
This prevented overloads, reduced weak spots, and kept every layer supplied even under heavy pressure.
Grey looked over the finished blueprint.
The layers were linked by dedicated inscription channels that ran across and between the main convergence network. Information flowed from the Infinite Scan Network to the Recording and Analysis Core, which then sent commands to the correct defensive or support layers.
The Chaos Stones would act as both fuel and hardware. Since he lacked proper formation flags, they would also serve as temporary amplifiers for the flow of energy across the array.
And getting Chaos Stones was easy.
He was standing inside a Chaos Mine. He had more than enough material.
Once active, this formation would do more than hide the mine. It would remove the mine from the awareness of Chaos itself.
This was the true value of formations.
They turned the rules of the Heavenly Dao into tools.
Grey opened his eyes and left the Lesser Heaven space.
He had the blueprint. Now he had to build it.
His hands moved at high speed as he inscribed formation marks directly into the space around the mine. The Chaos Stones in the walls acted as natural catalysts and greatly reduced the resources he needed to spend.
The work continued for hours.
Grey never stopped moving. He formed inscription after inscription, linked convergence point to convergence point, and built the full eight-layer system piece by piece.
At last, the final inscription settled into place.
Grey activated the formation.
Power rushed through the Chaos Severance Array. The mine shook once as the isolation effect took hold and cut it off from Chaos.
From the outside, the mine no longer existed.
Grey smiled.
"Now even a peak Twelfth-Rank expert won’t notice this place."
The Chaos Mine had vanished from the sight of the entire Twelfth Plane of Existence.
And now, it belonged to their universe.
