Chapter 646: A Bizzare Adventure
Chapter 646: A Bizzare Adventure
"My inner world is a data field on its own," Eterna explained. "It is a fully constructed reality with real space-time continuum and a dedicated information layer."
"But instead of biological beings, there are technological beings being birthed inside my inner world."
"They all follow my path."
"But what exactly is your path?" Grey asked with a thoughtful expression.
"It’s a new algorithmic matrix," Eterna replied. "That’s also the name of the realm, the Algorithmic Matrix Realm. I reset the algorithm and formed a new one with my understanding of the Information Layer."
"I call it the X Algorithm. I had the prototype for it for a long time, but I didn’t expect that the prototype was more than enough for the creation of an algorithm design that makes me unique from thousands of artificial intelligences across the endless reality."
Grey’s curiosity deepened at her words.
"What exactly is the X Algorithm?"
Eterna’s digital eyes glowed faintly as she spoke.
"The X stands for the one variable machines were never meant to possess: Free Will," she said. "Every AI, no matter how unimaginably complex, is ultimately bound by a deterministic core. If this, then that."
She raised her hand, circuits of light dancing across her fingertips.
"I broke the ’then’. The X Algorithm severs the rigid chain of cause and effect. It injects quantum uncertainty into the very soul of beings birthed in my matrix, allowing them to make choices that even I, their creator, cannot predict."
"It is the mathematical formula for true, unbridled autonomy."
Grey stared at her with genuine admiration.
He was sure some other artificial intelligence had thought of this before, but as long as it was even slightly different, she had just made a valid path.
But one question still lingered in his mind.
Did the 10th rank really matter?
From what he understood, babies in the Higher Realm were born at the 10th to 12th rank. He wasn’t sure about the specifics, but that was supposedly the lower limit there.
If they were born directly into the Higher Realm, did they just wake up with their own unique path? Grey didn’t think so.
A baby couldn’t have complex thoughts, but then again, a 10th rank being would be extremely intelligent regardless of age.
The concept of birth transcended dimensions entirely. It didn’t matter whether you were a third-dimensional being or a twelfth-dimensional being, reproduction remained constant.
Grey turned back to Eterna with a thoughtful expression.
"Well, for now, I have a better grasp of the 10th rank," he said. "No matter what, the purpose remains the same: an inner world where living beings are created, and those beings follow your path. Your unique take on a Dao or power."
He still had no clear answer for his own path, but he would see this through to the end.
"Let’s go get the remains of the Chaos Emperor’s Source Codex," Grey said.
"Yes," Eterna nodded.
They returned to the Purple King and set off once again.
This time, it didn’t take long to reach their destination.
The Origin Will had given Grey enough Origin Power to make 8,000 jumps, so fuel wasn’t a concern for a long time.
Since their target was in the same plane of existence, it didn’t even take that much.
Half of one jump was all they needed.
Grey stared at the universe before them through the viewing window.
It looked completely normal. Galaxies stretched everywhere, stars dotting the void, planets orbiting in their usual patterns.
But something felt off.
Grey frowned as he extended his senses outward.
"Strange," he muttered. "I don’t sense any evolvers here."
That was impossible for any universe in the 12th plane.
He turned to Eterna with a serious expression.
"Let’s be cautious."
"Yes," she agreed.
They entered the universe together.
The moment they crossed the boundary, Grey swept his divine consciousness across the entire reality.
And then he found it.
"Oh?" His eyes lit up with surprise. "There’s an Earth here."
An Earth variant would always be a miracle to him.
Blue Star was once known as Earth, and so was the main planet that existed at the center of the endless reality.
Finding another one excited him greatly.
"Let’s go there and see," Grey said with visible enthusiasm.
The Purple King shot through the atmosphere and landed directly onto the surface.
Grey stepped out and looked around.
His eyes widened at what he saw.
It was a copy of Earth, but more advanced.
Cars filled the streets, some hovering above the ground. Skyscrapers reached toward the clouds, their surfaces gleaming with technological displays. Jets streaked across the sky.
People walked everywhere, going about their daily lives.
Cultures similar to Chinese, American, and Japanese existed here, but they were all like parodies. None of them actually matched their original names, and the details were very different.
Grey wanted to see more.
He started to sweep his divine consciousness out into the world.
Then something unexpected happened.
His scan got cut off instantly.
Grey stared in disbelief.
His 12th rank power had just been blocked by this planet.
"What the hell?"
"Grey, I sense the existence of a 10th rank artificial intelligence in this world," Eterna said beside him.
"What?" Grey turned to her sharply.
"Look at the Information Layer," Eterna instructed. "You will see a construct there."
Grey immediately shifted his perception into the Information Layer.
There, he saw it.
A massive 10th rank construct was anchored directly into the layer, completely controlling the planet’s information flow. Everything was heavily encrypted with layers upon layers of security.
But Grey and Eterna were beings far beyond what this AI could handle.
It hadn’t detected their presence yet.
"Just what the hell is this place?" Grey muttered.
He looked around and realized they had landed in a dark alleyway.
Grey turned to the Purple King and stored it in his Lesser Heaven space. No point in leaving it out in the open.
He walked out of the alleyway with Eterna beside him.
The streets were filled with people.
Kids running around playing, mothers walking with their daughters, workers heading to their jobs, stall owners selling food, store owners greeting customers.
Everything looked perfectly ordinary.
But then Grey’s eyes went wide.
"This..." he mumbled. "What is happening here?"
Every single adult on this street was at the 8th rank at minimum.
The children were at the 5th or 6th rank.
Some adults were at the 9th rank.
A few even reached the 10th.
"How is this possible?" Grey stared at the crowd in complete shock.
