Grey felt as if he were inside a dream.
It had to be some sort of joke, or perhaps this was an illusion. Had he fallen into one the moment he arrived in this universe?
That was his initial thought, but the Nexus Energy circulating within him made it impossible to accept that outcome.
His Nexus Energy allowed him to shatter any illusion on a certain scale. He doubted that his 12th rank strength could be negated unless the illusion were of 13th rank.
And there was no 13th rank in the endless reality, this wasn’t the Higher Realm.
"Hey Eterna, you’re seeing the same thing, right?"
Eterna just watched the people with a blank expression.
"They all seem ordinary, showing no sign of higher supernatural powers," she said. "I don’t see any abilities or energy leaking from them, but each remains at the stage they appear to be."
"Yeah, I get that, but how?" Grey was utterly confused.
In the end, he decided to calm down.
This exceeded his expectations, but in the grand scheme of things, such occurrences were probably normal compared to what he had encountered until now.
He was more of an anomaly than these people on this planet.
He was the Fateless One. He shouldn’t be this concerned or worried.
He would figure something out.
Since he existed outside the scale of fate, no one could divine his presence or see through him. He was safe.
But from what he understood, this had to do with the Chaos Source Codex.
It was similar to the previous universe he had encountered. There, an angel of Chaos could continuously reverse time using the power of Chaos.
Now there was a planet filled with ordinary people who didn’t realize they possessed supernatural power capable of things normal evolvers would dream of having.
Soon, they begin walking.
Their clothing didn’t stand out because most people here wore similar attire. Some wore bizarre outfits with light emanating from the fabric.
It seemed like this Earth had insane technological advancement.
In the end, Grey went to the nearest store.
He needed local currency, so he used reality bending on dirt to create some money after looking at the currency they used.
His scanning could extend around him, but not to a great extent.
It was severely limited.
He couldn’t believe his consciousness was being restricted like this.
On the other hand, he realized he could actually push beyond his level of power and remove the restrictions with Nexus Axiom Power.
He didn’t do it because he didn’t want to raise unwanted attention from whatever higher-dimensional being was managing this world.
What if there was an entity similar to the angel of Chaos here?
He had the Buddha Mode sure. But he had to test the waters first. He didn’t want to get into trouble as soon as he arrived.
Instead, he would investigate these ordinary people.
And at least he could fly in this world without any problems. He would hate to walk around these streets.
Grey and Eterna rose into the air, and immediately everyone around them gasped in shock.
"Did that guy just fly?"
"Oh my god. Does anyone have a phone? Record this!"
"I’ve never seen such an advanced scale of magic before, where are the strings at magician?"
"Is there a movie shoot going here?"
Grey clicked his tongue seeing their reaction.
He was now 100% sure these people didn’t know they could fly or even use supernatural powers.
They didn’t know they could obliterate an entire mountain with a thought, or destroy an entire planet with one move.
Hell, even that child playing in the street could destroy a continent.
It was way too bizarre.
In the end, they entered a large building filled with people.
It was a library.
Grey figured that was where they could get relevant information about this world’s history and structure.
At the same time, Eterna was trying to crack into the Information Layer for data.
But something was wrong.
"Grey," Eterna said with a frown. "My powers are slowly being restricted bit by bit."
"Yeah, been noticing that as well," Grey replied grimly. "I have no idea what this is, but we need to move fast."
"Or we will actually end up turning into ordinary people like everyone else on this planet."
It was bizarre and strange.
These people had energy bodies, but physical constructs held onto those energy bodies somehow.
Perhaps the physical body was the limiter?
But that wouldn’t make sense since their power was slowly being depleted because of this planet itself.
Of course, leaving this universe was an option, but that would mean abandoning the Chaos Source Codex.
From what Grey noticed, the concentration of Chaos Power here was apparent. The Codex had to be somewhere on this planet.
He was sure of it.
Hence, he began learning the history.
Grey skimmed through books and digital records, finding a parallel world similar to Earth’s history but with major differences.
What struck him most was the complete absence of any mention of evolvers, cultivators, martial artists, or anything similar.
Not a single piece of book referenced supernatural abilities.
It was clear these people didn’t understand they were superhumans.
They just lived as ordinary humans.
The baseline of their powers was kept under wraps by the world itself, forcing their abilities down to a level where they would never figure out how strong they truly were.
In the end, Grey and Eterna left the library.
The moment they stepped outside, Grey’s senses picked up something.
Multiple presences were tracking their movements from the shadows.
"Looks like we’re being followed, Eterna."
Eterna’s eyes flickered as she scanned their surroundings.
"I detect seven individuals," she reported. "All of them are at the 11th rank."
"Interesting," Grey muttered.
He kept walking as if he hadn’t noticed anything.
"They’re probably agents of whatever organization runs this planet," Grey said. "We flew in public, that must have triggered some kind of alert."
"Should we confront them?" Eterna asked.
"Not yet," Grey shook his head. "Let’s see where this goes first."
They continued down the street, the seven figures following from a careful distance.
