Chapter 678: The Mecha Race’s Secret Place
Chapter 678: The Mecha Race’s Secret Place
Grey and Jasmine immediately became overjoyed upon hearing those words.
Someone had actually seen the Mecha Race.
Hearing this, Grey quickly stepped forward.
"Where did they go?"
The worker scratched his head thoughtfully.
"I remember seeing them at the Central Hub only a day ago. They eventually left through one of the many terminals located throughout the area."
Hearing this, Grey’s eyes flickered with golden light.
He immediately used Prime Mind Manipulation on the man, extracting the exact coordinates of the terminal the Mecha Race had used to leave. The information flowed directly into his mind, clear and precise.
"Got it."
With that, Grey turned toward Jasmine.
"Let’s go, Jasmine. We have no time to waste here."
Immediately after, the two headed toward the location.
When they arrived, however, there was absolutely nothing unusual. The terminal appeared completely normal, and there was no trace of the Mecha Race anywhere.
Seeing this, Grey carefully searched the surrounding area.
Still, nothing seemed to remain behind.
Meanwhile, Jasmine looked around with growing boredom before sighing heavily.
"This is so boring, Chief Grey. We finally find a lead and there’s nothing here."
Hearing this, Grey told her to be patient and continued examining the area.
Jasmine complained again.
"I expected the legendary Mecha Race to at least leave something interesting behind. Maybe they simply vanished because they knew I was coming to steal their data."
Hearing this, Grey gave her a helpless look.
"Stop joking around and help me search."
With that, they continued examining the terminal and its surroundings for some time. Grey checked every corner, scanned every surface, and analyzed every trace of energy he could detect.
Yet even after all of that, there was still absolutely nothing.
Then, Grey suddenly remembered something.
He possessed the Chaos Sovereign Art.
The technique allowed him to control Chaos to a certain extent. As he thought about it, Grey realized that Chaos itself might be capable of storing information. If the Mecha Race’s Reality Ship had traveled through Chaos, then the chaotic energy surrounding the area may have retained some form of data about what had happened.
Hearing his own thought, Grey immediately became excited by the possibility.
He began using the Chaos Sovereign Art, directing his consciousness into the chaotic energy surrounding the terminal. His perception dove deep into the swirling void, carefully searching through the information embedded within it.
Slowly, the Chaos began responding to his technique.
Soon, an illusion started forming around him and Jasmine.
At first, the image was distorted and unclear. However, it gradually sharpened until they could see a massive spaceship belonging to the Mecha Race.
The ship appeared exactly as Jasmine remembered it.
Immediately after, the vessel activated its systems and shot directly into the surrounding Chaos, disappearing deeper into the void.
Seeing the ship, Jasmine immediately became excited.
"That’s them!"
"I think this is the same people that gave me a lift too. The ship looked exactly like this."
Hearing this, Grey watched the illusion carefully, memorizing the direction and trajectory of the Reality Ship.
After doing so, he turned toward Jasmine.
"Looks like we know where to go."
Jasmine nodded enthusiastically.
"Yep. Finally, something interesting."
With that, the two immediately began tracing the path of the Mecha Race through the Chaos.
Grey continuously used the Chaos Sovereign Art to follow the information left behind by their passage. Meanwhile, Jasmine helped analyze the trajectory and compared it with what she remembered from her previous encounter.
They continued deeper and deeper into the Chaos.
Eventually, they arrived at an enormous blank area.
There was nothing here.
No structure. No ship. No visible passage. Nothing that suggested the Mecha Race had ever come here or even a sign of life.
Seeing this, Grey frowned.
The illusion had clearly shown the Mecha Race’s Reality Ship traveling directly to this location. Yet now there was absolutely nothing here.
"No..."
Grey’s expression became serious.
"It must be hidden."
Immediately after saying this, Grey realized that this could not be ordinary concealment. The Mecha Race must have used some form of reality manipulation via data energy to hide their domain from the rest of the Endless Reality.
If they had merely concealed the structure physically, Grey’s perception would have already detected it.
With that realization, Grey immediately entered the Information Layer.
The moment he arrived, his expression changed completely.
Suspended within the Information Layer was an enormous collection of servers. Entire blocks of them were arranged together in a hidden structure that stretched beyond his immediate perception.
Grey stared at the sight in disbelief.
"They’re here..."
The Mecha Race had not disappeared at all.
Instead, they had simply hidden their entire domain from the Endless Reality itself, leaving only their presence within the Information Layer. No, it was being sustained by a massive amount of Data energy which made it impossible to see under normal circumstances.
Seeing this, Grey immediately used his Mecha Race ability to see through the layers of information surrounding the hidden domain. The illusion concealing it began breaking apart before his perception, revealing an enormous technological structure.
The structure was so massive that it was practically the size of a universe.
Countless technological systems filled the enormous domain. Servers, machines, energy networks, and information pathways stretched in every direction.
As Grey continued observing everything, his servers immediately began processing everything he was seeing.
The amount of information was so immense that his processing systems began approaching their limits.
Then, something suddenly changed.
His server got detected by someone from here!
WARNING.
Grey’s mind interface immediately began displaying multiple alerts as foreign systems targeted his server. Before he could fully understand what was happening, several breaches occurred simultaneously.
Immediately afterward, foreign data began forcing its way into his systems.
His servers immediately started going haywire.
Seeing this, Grey’s expression changed.
"Oh shit."
He had not expected the Mecha Race to detect him so quickly.
Meanwhile, multiple security systems attacked his server simultaneously. His mind interface displayed warning after warning as hostile data attempted to corrupt, overload, and dismantle his internal systems.
Grey realized he should have expected this.
After all, the Mecha Race had managed to hide an entire universe-sized technological domain inside the Information Layer. There was no way they would leave their systems undefended.
But Grey did not panic.
He was Grey.
With his eyes sharpening, he immediately began analyzing the hostile data. His servers isolated the invading information and began deconstructing it piece by piece.
One virus was dismantled in moments of time with his capabilities.
Then another.
Then another.
Every time the Mecha Race sent a new attack, Grey’s systems analyzed its structure, identified its purpose, and broke it apart.
Within a minute, Grey had completely deconstructed the viruses attacking his server.
Immediately after, he understood their basic structure and began modifying his own defensive systems to protect against similar attacks in the future.
Then, Grey’s expression became slightly playful.
It had been a while since he used his Quick Hacks.
With that, he immediately launched his own counterattack.
A massive virus bomb was transmitted toward the Mecha Race’s systems. The virus was designed specifically to attack their spiritual conduits, and if they failed to detect and remove it quickly enough, it would begin frying their lives from within.
Grey watched as the data spread through their systems.
"Let’s see how you like this."
Hearing this, the Mecha Race’s systems immediately began reacting to the attack.
However, before Grey could continue his assault, the surrounding space was suddenly filled with enormous energy signatures.
Just then, an entire fleet appeared before him.
Countless technologically advanced vessels emerged from the hidden domain. Their weapons immediately locked onto Grey, and massive lasers began charging as the fleet surrounded him from every direction.
Soon, a voice came from the fleet.
"Identify yourself, outsider."
The voice became colder.
"Who are you, and why do you possess a server?"
Hearing this, Grey looked at the enormous fleet surrounding him without showing any fear.
"I’m just like you."
"Someone who possesses the power to enter the Information Layer."
As Grey spoke, he began manipulating the surrounding Information Layer. Immediately, Data Energy flowed through his body, and he started making direct changes to the information around him.
The surrounding data bent according to his will.
Seeing this, he demonstrated complete control over the same type of energy the Mecha Race utilized.
The Mecha Race immediately reacted with shock.
"Data Energy..."
Another voice came through the fleet.
"He’s using Data Energy!"
Hearing this, the Mecha Race could not understand what they were witnessing.
"How is he using it?"
"He’s not one of us!"
Meanwhile, the fleet’s weapons remained trained on Grey as the Mecha Race members continued analyzing him. After witnessing his ability to manipulate Data Energy, they clearly understood that Grey was not an ordinary outsider who somehow stumbled into their domain.
Eventually, one of the Mecha Race’s representatives finally spoke.
"Come with us willingly, and we will let you live."
Hearing this, Grey’s expression immediately became cold.
He looked toward the fleet surrounding him.
"You’re not capable of ordering me around."
The moment he said those words, Grey released his full power.
Immediately, his 13th Rank strength erupted through the entire space.
The entire hidden domain trembled.
Every ship surrounding Grey was forced to withstand the overwhelming pressure. Seeing this, the Mecha Race members became completely stunned by the sudden revelation of his true strength.
"13th Rank?!"
Their previous confidence disappeared instantly. They were only at the 12th rank.
As a result, the weapons that had been aimed at Grey began lowering one by one. The fleet members exchanged confused transmissions as they struggled to understand how an outsider could possess such overwhelming power and even gain access to Data Energy. Their systems had already made it clear that he was not one of them.
Then, Grey slowly squinted his eyes.
Just then, something else caught his attention.
Within the depths of this enormous technological world, he could suddenly sense an incredibly powerful surge of Data Energy.
The energy was vastly different from anything he had encountered before.
