Chapter 3001: Halting an Ocean War II

The blessed guards of the ocean and seas returned in haste as they all looked a bit worried. They used the restored seashell communicators to relay what had happened to the War Council. They thought that they would get an immediate response towards the threats of the Followers of the Watery Abyss. What they did not expect was they were told to wait as there were more important matters.

The blessed guards could not believe that they were suddenly told to wait when they were almost killed by the Followers of the Watery Abyss. Even if they were warriors tasked to guard and not priests, they were also blessed by the Titan of the Ocean and the God of the Seas. This was a blatant disrespect to them which made them flare up in rage but they had to suck it in as there was an even more powerful being with them.

"Did they decline?" Adrian asked.

Adrian’s statement already made the blessed guards shudder because they were basically put on hold. Even if they want to say that there were put on hold, they were not told a timeline on when the execution will happen. Since they are already familiar with the proceedings of the church, they knew that their request most likely fell on deaf ears.

"Big brother can just help us." Princess Drona stated but Adrian gave her a pained smile.

"Unfortunately, I can no longer meddle in your affairs anymore." Adrian stated as he was told off by the gods of life and death to not interfere anymore.

He was already risking his duties by suddenly intervening with what is happening. The gods of life and death have told him that he can no longer do anything unless a taboo was broken. The Followers of the Watery Abyss do not do anything that defiled life and death. They merely killed which is a normal cycle for life and death.

Adrian was only able to help Princess Drona because she was someone chosen by one of the goddesses of life. The Goddess Echidna is actually the one that favored her and is the one that accepted the backlash for Adrian interfering to save her. This is something that the people of the deep waters should finish on their own.

"What do you mean you cannot meddle anymore?" Renyu asked as she did not expect something like that but it was Altum that answered.

"Champions of Gods and Goddesses cannot just intervene in matters relating to mortals. We are weapons forged and tempered for any injustices against the gods. The guild leader has heavy restrictions as he is the Champion of the Twin Gods and we are also in an unfamiliar domain. If he fought for all of you, he would be told that he is choosing a side. He should be the most impartial amongst all of us." Altum stated as even he did not volunteer to help because the God of the Deep forbade him.

"The champions are right. This is a problem for both of our kingdoms... no for the people of the underwater world. We cannot let them get caught up in it anymore as they have already helped us immensely." Crown Princess Aisla stated as she knew that she got the most help among them.

"Even if I can no longer help, I can give you something that a certain goddess told me to give you. She would enter a state of hibernation for a week because of this so make use of this blessing." Adrian stated as his voice suddenly echoed as if numerous versions of him were speaking.

"To you my loyal subjects, I will bless!" Adrian stated as a silhouette of a goddess surrounded by powerful beasts appeared behind him as the royal families were all given the blessing of a goddess.

The Scylla Queen trembled upon receiving the blessing because she knows who gave this. It was a blessing given by the Mother of Monsters. A blessing given to them directly via a champion is something that they could never experience. A blessing of the Goddess Echidna that increased all of their abilities by two-fold.

"Thank you, champion!" The royal families stated as they bowed.

"Can you also do that?" Renyu whispered to Altum.

"Please do not lump me in with the guild leader. He is an anomaly even to us champions. This is also the reason why he has lots of restrictions." Altum stated which made Renyu finally know why they rarely see Equinox broadcasting his clears and quests as he usually does it solo as he has circumstances.

"For you, Princess Drona. The goddess prepared something special for you." Adrian stated as he proceeded to touch the princess’ forehead and a sliver of divine energy entered her mind.

"What did I get?" Princess Drona asked in confusion as she felt her forehead if there were any changes.

"The goddess told me that you will use that in time but she wishes that you will not need to use it for now. I do not know anymore than that because she has already entered her slumber after relaying this to me." Adrian stated.

"Thank you for the immense grace, champion! It seems that the goddess is truly fond of my daughter." The Scylla Queen stated as she bowed.

"Ah! Before I forget, the gods and goddesses of life relating to the ocean and seas have given me another statement." Adrian exclaimed as he almost forgot.

"Yes. We shall hear and obey the words of our gods and goddesses." The royal families along with the guards stated as if it was something always rehearsed.

"They said that you are free to trash the temples to let those lazy sunfishes do some work. You can be rough if you need to as they will not hold you accountable. Just make sure that they do not die." Adrian’s words caught everyone off guard.

The people that heard what Adrian said basically reduced the gods and goddesses to thugs but that is what he really heard. Altum could be seen laughing at what Adrian said while Renyu tried to hold it in. They did not know that is how the gods talk to Adrian as they see him as an equal that they can talk to freely. If it was other beings, the gods would use flowery words and jargons that no one can easily understand.

"Excuse the direct message but that is what I have transcribed from what they said. It was not really what they said to me as I merely translated it." Adrian stated as he needed an excuse even if he was the one looked like he was a thug.

"Thank you, champion. If we have the permission of the gods and goddesses to make those lazy sea slugs to work then we shall do so. We will purge the Followers of the Watery Abyss and bring peace back to our kingdoms." The Merfolk King stated and the Scylla Queen agreed as well.

The royal families along with their guards returned hurriedly to their kingdoms to initiate a purge. Adrian even looked at the blessed guards and the latter immediately understood. Only the necessary blessed guards were left in the War Council while the others directly went to the temples. It seems they became happy that they can punish the lazy priests with the blessing of the gods and goddesses.

"Take care, big bro! When you are done with what you need to do, make sure to visit me in our kingdom." Princess Drona stated as they went on their way.

"Are you not going to help them?" Altum asked Renyu as the latter looked like she wanted to help.

"I was but the Merfolk Queen told me that they can handle it on their own. I will just join them once we are done with what we truly needed to do." Renyu replied.

"I see. Maybe I can help you as well after this is done. I am not as heavily restricted as the guild leader." Altum stated as the two looked at each other with mutual understanding.

"Ahem! Where is the passage entrance to the Forbidden Ocean: Realm of Oceanus?" Adrian stated as he looked at the nearest blessed guard.

"Please come this way. There is a location where challengers can test their worthiness in opening the gate. There have been no challengers as of the moment because of the chaos happening. The champion can definitely spend their time leisurely in investigating it." The blessed guard of ocean and seas stated as she escorted them to the testing location.

Renyu did not expect that there was actually a location where they opened the barrier. She suddenly felt a shiver as she thought that they would need to destroy the entire barrier. If they really did so then they would be hunted down by the blessed guards of ocean and seas. They would be charged with destroying the divine barrier erected by a powerful divine being.
