Chapter 3030: Storm Cloud Ravine III

The death of the Storm Cloud Thunderbird also took great effect on the second layer of the Storm Cloud Ravine. Compared to the monsters on the first layer, the monsters on the second layer were far more intelligent or intelligent enough to not try their luck. All of them literally hid in their special hiding places where floating rocks and floating trees could be seen.

The second layer is different from the first layer as it is an area where larger stones could be seen floating in the sky. The stones could even hold large monsters and serve as their homes or places of refuge. Another thing that Adrian and Frey noticed is that there are also uprooted large trees floating in this layer but they do not rot or die. The uprooted trees seem to have evolved to become able to flourish even in such unique circumstances.

The fact that these floating trees can still bear fruit is practically a miracle and is not observed in the first layer. The first layer only had grass that grows on rocks that are small to medium size but the second layer already has an ecosystem. This is why the monsters in the second layer are stronger than that of the first layer. Also, the monsters in the second layers can also feed on the monsters on the first layer if supply does not catch up.

"Strange." Frey stated.

"I know. There are no monsters coming to us. Do you think that someone else might have come or entered before us?" Adrian asked.

"It could be there must have been someone that entered. Still, monsters should always spawn with this dense elemental mana. Where have they gone? I really wanted to test out my skills and even Zorya’s skills as well." Frey stated.

"Maybe they were lured by the ones that came before us. What should we do if we encounter them?" Adrian stated.

"If we encounter them then we can just decide there. If they try to kill us then we just kill them back." Frey stated.

"I would have just jumped on with the plan to kill them instead." Adrian stated as he preferred to silence the enemies instantly but he also knew that players that can go through the second layer are more powerful and may put up a fight.

What Adrian did not know is that the monsters on the second layer are all afraid of them as they easily killed the Storm Cloud Thunderbird. The monsters could still feel the special wind pressure of the Storm Cloud Thunderbird on them along with countless weaker monsters. Adrian and Frey did not know that they already triggered the hidden mechanic for the Storm Cloud Ravine.

The hidden mechanic here is that each monster they kill inside the Storm Cloud Ravine fills up a hidden gauge. This hidden gauge gives them a special mana scent of the monsters they killed and also slight decrease in being affected by wind pressure. The effect is not that prominent at the moment as the wind pressure increased in the second layer but Adrian and Frey would have notice the large difference in wind pressure if they did not massacre the entire first layer.

With the death of the Storm Cloud Thunderbird, the wind scent of it has been mixed in with theirs. This meant that any monsters lower in level from the Storm Cloud Thunderbird will not immediately become aggressive towards them if they meet. This made it easy for Adrian and Frey to navigate the second layer and search for the entrance to the third layer.

"Besides the Storm Cloud Thunderbird earlier, this layer is very uneventful. Thank goodness that you managed to find the entrance to the third layer." Frey stated as they stood before the entrance to the third layer.

The entrance to the third layer is a literal storm where a huge eye could be seen crackling with lightning. Adrian pointed to the huge eye that is like a dark cave and told her that the entrance is literally the eye of the storm. The immense wind pressure is also observed when they were close to the third layer entrance. Just the wind pressure from the third layer entrance made Kanlaon and Zorya double their effort in protecting Adrian and Frey.

"Entering the eye of the storm. Let us go then." Adrian stated as Frey nodded which made both of them enter the eye of the storm when it suddenly widened.

[You have entered the Third Layer of the Storm Cloud Ravine.]

The eye of the storm that Adrian and Frey entered into was a literal dark cloud tunnel. When they regained some light, they could finally see the third layer of the Storm Cloud Ravine and how it looked. Unlike the second layer, the third layer has darker lighting because the storm clouds that blocked it is filled with dense lightning energy. They even saw one monster trying to pass through the wall of dark clouds but it got electrocuted and crushed by wind pressure to death instead.

The entire third layer is a sky cage that is built using dense storm clouds. The storm cloud barrier is not enough though as there would also be random lightning strikes coming from any direction. This meant that the survival rate in this place is low. What Adrian also did not like to admit is that all of the monsters here have lightning resistance but they were still electrocuted to death by the storm cloud wall.

"Absolutely no touching of the storm cloud wall. We would not survive if we touch it." Adrian reminded.

"Got it. How are we going to move here?" Frey asked as she has not really encountered places with these kinds of environments as much. What Frey is used to would be snow and heavy wind but not deadly wind and lightning.

"We would need to move in a way that lightning could not randomly tail us but we have a cheat code for that." Adrian stated as he summoned the cheat code.

Adrian summoned Kimat and he appeared in his smaller form so that he could be sitting on Adrian’s lap while riding Kanlaon. The cheat code is none other than Kimat who can easily devour the lightning that might hit them. Kimat would be able to solve the random lightning bolt that could kill them but he would not be able to solve any monster that comes at them.

"So, how do we find the entrance to the fourth layer?" Frey asked as they did not need to kill monsters in this layer and just head straight towards the last layer.

What they need to get is the Wind Elementum and not an item that a monster drops after all. Just as they would begin to move, five figures suddenly started darting around them. The sound of humming electricity could also be heard as each of the five figures are monsters that move using lightning. When Adrian got a good look at them, he could not believe that the Storm Cloud Ravine actually had monsters that did not have wings or not avian in nature.

Monster Name: Lightning Weasel

Monster Level: 390

Description: A monster that is said to use the electricity in the air currents to move or basically swim in the air. It is often found in areas where air is supercharged by electricity. They said that Lightning Weasels can swim in storms and have often had their figures seen in stormy days. They move in clusters and have great coordination and aerial mobility.

"Yummy!" Kimat’s eyes suddenly glowed as the five Lightning Weasels that growled at Adrian and Frey did not look threatening to him but delicious.

Kimat would have charged over to kill them but he did not as Adrian have not commanded him. Only when did he looked at Adrian with the eyes of a pleading cat did his master nodded. When Adrian nodded, the five Lightning Weasels’ fate has been decided and that was to be toyed and eaten by Kimat.

The five lightning weasels did not move ordinarily like what is said in its description. They move as if they are like on land and a small static trail of electricity could be seen in the direction they pass through. They really do swim in the air thanks to the electricity in the air current but that is basically a death sentence for them when against Kimat.

As soon as Kimat emerged in his larger form, the entire space suddenly felt like it stopped. The lightning energy in a large area around Kimat suddenly froze. As if the lightning itself was admitting that the sovereign has arrived and it will only move when it has been given permission.

The Lightning Weasels that were proud and snarky earlier suddenly froze and tried to flee. The only problem is that they suddenly felt their bodies became sluggish. The electricity in the air current was not agreeing with their bodies which locked them in place. Kimat’s toothy smile could be seen as the shrieks of five monsters echoed.
