Chapter 3029: Storm Cloud Ravine II

"What layer are we in now?" Causian asked as he was the only one flying.

"The second layer. What we need is in the third or fourth layer but both of you hope that it is in the third." Mera replied.

"Why would we need to hope it is in the third?" Kholki asked.

"The fourth layer has the boss monster of this dungeon and it is Level 500 at the least. We are now encountering monsters that are in the 400 range when we are still in the second layer. This dungeon is not something that could be cleared with our number even if we go all out. We are only evading the monsters because of my alchemical scents but that would not be a viable solution for the upper layers." Mera replied.

Just as the three of them were speaking, a large shadow suddenly swooped towards them which made Causian swerve. The large shadow was an avian monster that could somewhat resist the effects of the repelling potion that was created by their alchemical genius named Mera. The large avian monster actually beat Causian’s wingspan in his true form.

Monster Name: Storm Cloud Thunderbird

Monster Level: 375

Description: An evolved form of the Thunderbird that has lived in the Storm Cloud Ravine. It has gained the same elemental resonance as that of the dungeon. It has an even fiercer personality compared to it counterpart. It also released powerful storm clouds just by flapping its wings and commands the lightning when angered.

"Do something birdbrain!" Kholki shouted as he slapped Causian’s back.

"Okay! Okay! No need to actually hit me!" Causian replied as his aura that he concealed suddenly hit the Storm Cloud Thunderbird.

The fierce Storm Cloud Thunderbird suddenly became shocked and froze in terror as a powerful pressure of one of the King of the Avian Monsters hit it. The Storm Cloud Thunderbird actually kept falling down as a result of the shock since it fainted. Seeing that the Storm Cloud Thunderbird has fainted, the three did not bother with it as Mera already found the entrance to the third layer.

"We do not need to kill it when the road to the third layer is already ahead. Let us go!" Mera added.

"I do not argue with that as both of you are very heavy." Causian stated as he flapped his wings towards the exit of the second layer.

Meanwhile, Adrian and Frey finished defeating all of the flocks in the first layer. Frey and Zorya could be seen on top of freshly killed monsters. They collected all of the drops and immediately head to the second layer entrance that Adrian sensed. It also became a lesson to Adrian that he should not release his energy carelessly again. Still, it I quite strange for Adrian that even lower-level monsters could have detected him.

"The Wind Elementum must have transformed all of the monsters in the place. I can feel it calling for me as soon as we entered the first layer." Adrian stated.

"In other words, all of the monsters we fight will now be stronger than anticipated. It is not like we did not have any issues. It is a good chance to actually fully test our newfound strength without the eyes of others seeing us." Frey stated.

"Pretty much." Adrian replied as he led them to the exit of the first layer.

[You have reached the Second Layer of the Storm Cloud Ravine.]

A notification popped out as soon as they reached the second layer and the wind current here is stronger than the first layer. The wind pressure basically doubled but it was still possible for Zorya and Kanlaon to maintain their abilities to negate wind pressure without using any mana. Adrian and Frey were checking the second layer on what is different from it when a large shadow suddenly dropped down on them.

CRACKLE!

A loud burst of lightning suddenly exploded from the awakened Storm Cloud Thunderbird. Adrian and Frey could not believe what they see because this monster was strong and is already at a high level compared to the ones they fought in the first layer. They suddenly had this misconception that the Storm Cloud Thunderbird is actually the most common monster in this layer.

The Storm Cloud Thunderbird became enraged as it woke up from its stupor. The Storm Cloud Thunderbird did not expect that its monster soul would be attacked by a higher avian monster. It knows that it has lost because it was weaker but it did not sit right with the supposed ruler of the second layer. The Storm Cloud Thunderbird would then turn its attention to the beings that it suddenly found as it needed to vent it anger.

The Storm Cloud Thunderbird did not care what strength the beings in front of it is but it wanted to see blood. It also found the two human beings before it as prey and it only descended on that avian monster earlier because it wanted to eat human flesh. What the Storm Cloud Thunderbird did not know is that those ’humans’ it thought of eating were also monsters using a humanoid form.

As for Adrian and Frey, only Frey could be considered close to humans but Adrian is really not one. The Storm Cloud Thunderbird’s eyesight has not fully recovered but its anger is exploding. With a powerful flap of its wings, two hurricanes manifested and swirled towards Adrian and Frey. The Storm Cloud Thunderbird then took this time to recover its sight while the hurricanes dealt and shredded the humans before it.

"Void Ascension."

"Aurora Refract."

Both Adrian and Frey used skills that could tank the damage that was supposed to hit them. The two hurricanes did not even touch their bodies as they dissolved into nothing when it was near them. Frey’s skill called Aurora Refract absorbed the damage and created a barrier made of lights around her body.

Adrian’s Void Ascension is different as he summoned the Telum Spear which is his Chaos Armament. As soon as the hurricane hit the designated skill radius, Void Ascension activated and made Adrian appear next to the Storm Cloud Thunderbird. He then performed five consecutive attacks that dealt great damage to the Storm Cloud Thunderbird.

All five hits connected towards the Storm Cloud Thunderbird as it was dumbfounded and still a bit confused. Once the fifth hit connected, Adrian dealt additional damage to the Storm Cloud Thunderbird and the fifth hit actually considered as aerial damage. He then chained the next skill as it would be a waste on a great sandbag that dropped to their presence.

"Chaos Plunge!" Adrian followed up.

Adrian then performed ten strikes that made him look like he was flickering in and out of existence with each hit. The Storm Cloud Thunderbird could not do anything as it was stunned with each hit Adrian did. The last hit was a powerful heavy slam on the head which sent the Storm Cloud Thunderbird crashing down.

The Storm Cloud Thunderbird could not believe that its head has once again been hit and is about to lose consciousness. The first time it lost consciousness was when a powerful avian monster shocked it using the soul. Now, these beings that it wanted to shred apart is now bullying it and hit it physically in the head. The Storm Cloud Thunderbird suffered both mental and physical beatings in a short span of time.

[You have used Chaos Plunge in succession with Void Ascension.]

[The extra skill, Chaos Shock, has been unlocked for a moment.]

"Oh! Such a shame if I will not use it. Chaos Shock!" Adrian stated as his spear suddenly got coated in chaos energy and he swiped it horizontally on the falling Storm Cloud Thunderbird.

The Storm Cloud Thunderbird could not even emit its last cry as it vanished into particles of light. The attack that Adrian used called Chaos Shock is so powerful that it also destroyed part of the space inside a dungeon. He could see a cone shaped rift created in real time and also closed back in real time. The power of the extra skill when two skills were used in unison also shocked Adrian.

The Storm Cloud Thunderbird was not a weak opponent as it was a bit higher level. The fact that Adrian killed it using combos of one chaos armament meant that it was weak for him. Adrian wanted a good challenge but no one has ever showed up for that. Even Frey is shocked that Adrian took care of the enemy quickly with just combos.

"For a level 375 mob monster, all of its drops were at least legendary." Adrian grumbled as even Kimat refused to eat the meat of the Storm Cloud Thunderbird as he said that it was too low quality.

"I guess a gift for Gourmet then since he can basically create dishes that might extract the lightning element from it." Adrian stated as he clapped his hands upon what to do with the dropped items of the Storm Cloud Thunderbird.
