Chapter 3032: To the Fourth Layer

Adrian and Frey did not stop with the obvious area that has been claimed. They do not have the time to worry about others. Even if they could enter the cave to verify it is empty, the path to the fourth layer was close to them. They only needed to make sure that they enter the fourth layer without any problems.

Adrian could also see some traces of a difficult battle from the safe zone before them. This means that whoever defeated the monster here must have been recuperating. There were also traces of lightning strikes with burnt ground which meant that they also got struck by it. Since the other party was obviously inside the cave and did not even attack them when they landed, Adrian decided that it was not worth to fight them now.

Adrian is not cruel or cunning enough to suddenly attack players that did not do anything to him. In fact, he is even a bit thankful to them as the monsters they encountered on their way here were low in number. The ones that were hiding in the cave must have fought off all of the monsters before them and thinned the dense population.

"Let us give them that at least but we will turn hostile if they dare to do something that goes against us." Adrian stated as he and Frey already flew towards the entrance to the fourth layer.

"They are gone." Mera stated as he had one of his eyes closed as this was connected to the eye slime monster he created.

"Do you have any idea on who they were?" Kholki asked.

"They were already far away when the eye slime detected them. They were not here to attack us at the very least as they seem to be heading to the fourth layer. They may be players that are here to challenge the dungeon." Mera stated.

"Should we kill them?" Causian asked.

"Why bother? They did not come here for the item that we need. If they were then they would have been searching this area and not heading to the next one. They may be after the boss monsters of this dungeon but even that is wishful thinking." Mera stated.

"Why is it wishful thinking?" Kholki asked.

"Do you remember that I released numerous eye flies earlier? One of them managed to enter the fourth layer entrance and it was a realm of pure lightning and wind. It was so harsh that it did not last even five seconds but it was enough to get a glance at the monster in it. There is only one monster in the fourth layer and it is the boss monster that is actually Level 500." Mera stated with an amused flamboyance.

"In other words, they would die even if we do not do anything. Can you at least tell us if you found the item that contains elemental energy with the same signature as Zeus’ lightning? We do not need any details on the boss monster because that is not what we came here for." Causian stated.

"I found some traces of it in the area near the entrance to the fourth layer. Once we have fully healed and our stamina is back then we investigate the ones I have tagged." Mera stated as he threw two more potions towards his companions to hasten their recovery.

"If the item that we need is actually in the fourth layer?" Kholki asked with curiosity.

"Then we thank those two that have already gone ahead before us. They would encounter the boss monster and weaken it enough to make it go in a state of recovery. It would make it easy for us to sneak inside and get the items that we want if it is in the fourth layer." Mera stated.

"You do not have any confidence that they would defeat the boss monster?" Causian asked.

"Nope. They will not defeat that boss monster because that terrifying pressure cannot be defeated with just two. Even all seven of us working together will not be able to defeat that thing in that place. Of course, we might have a chance if we push ourselves to the brink but that is not a guaranteed chance." Mera stated.

"Since you said it then I believe it." Kholki stated and Causian nodded but Mera felt that he was a bit skeptical of what he said. It was a tiny doubt but he immediately quashed it as there were more pressing matters to attend to.

Adrian and Frey arrived at the entrance to the fourth layer. The entrance to the fourth layer is just like what Adrian described as it was not a place being supercharged by an electric current. The only catch is that the entrance to the fourth layer is a large wind vortex that randomly creates holes as entrances. The holes get regenerated for a few seconds each time and it is very random with the area being large.

"How are we going to push through?" Frey asked.

"Through force. Kimat, lead the charge!" Adrian commanded and Kimat’s roar released a powerful field of electricity around them but it also discharged the wind currents partially.

Kimat led the charge with Kanlaon and Zorya following behind him. They were able to pierce through the sharp tunnel of wind but it also came at a cost. Fast wind blades traveled while they were passing through and gave some damage to Kimat, Kanlaon, and Zorya. They passed through the entrance with minor injuries but there were many.

[You have reached the Fourth and Final Layer of the Storm Cloud Ravine.]

Adrian and Frey received the notification that they have reached the last layer. They were able to reach it quick because they did not bother exploring the other layers and only head straight towards it. They would have rested for a bit as their monsters were hurt but a powerful and thick layer of killing intent washed over them as soon as they tried catching their breath.

"EVADE!" Adrian shouted as he instantly teleported Frey and Zorya away.

Frey and Zorya vanished in a flash as a large shadow suddenly descended towards their location. The movement was quick and it was powerful enough to create a powerful gust that blew Adrian, Kimat, and Kanlaon away. When Frey and Zorya got materialized in the location Adrian teleported them, one of Zorya’s legs is actually injured due to the quick attack earlier.

The large shadow then vanished like lightning as it moved quickly and hid from their sight. Adrian and Frey immediately understood that they were now in the area of a trained predator. The fourth layer is different from the other layers as everything here is dismantled islands, trees, and even meteorite. If one looked up then they could clearly see the moon and the stars above as they were now close to the atmosphere of this world.

To make matters even more difficult, the layer of storm cloud around the fourth layer is thicker and denser than other layers. This wall of dark clouds is meant to repel the monster that lives here as it was meant to cage it in and to make sure it never breaks free. Adrian knew that the storm clouds are keeping it at bay because the large shadow absolutely refused to touch the storm cloud wall on its descent earlier.

The monster earlier scattered into lightning when it was about to touch the storm cloud from descending. If Adrian did not transfer Frey earlier then the monster would have used the storm cloud wall to pin her down and kill her. The monster in this place is no pushover and is the most intelligent being they have ever encountered in this forbidden zone.

It was even using its own habitat to deal with those that trespass in its territory. It even uses the thing that keeps it locked in as a way to kill its enemies. This meant that whatever this thing is has full control of its body or at least gotten used to the energy in the storm cloud wall to attempt it. It knows that it will not die if it gets only slight contact with the storm cloud wall but any intruders will get electrocuted to death.

"Can you sense it?" Frey asked via the chat.

"I cannot. It suddenly vanished and even its life force is not being detected. Whatever it is, it has the ability to mask its life force with the energy around us. Be extra careful because I am no longer sure that we can actually defeat it." Adrian replied.

"Do we need to defeat it? We only need the wind elementum, right?" Frey asked.

"Unfortunately, the wind elementum is carved onto its back like a totem mark. I managed to get a glimpse of it when it suddenly descended as the Wind Elementum glowed and reacted to the ones I currently have. We need to kill it in order to extract it." Adrian stated with a deprecating laugh.
