Chapter 3054: The Hunting of Godbloods II

The disappearance of people in different parts of the central continents did not raise an alarm to the masses but it did raise an alarm to one god in particular. The God King Zeus immediately noticed that most of his children that were fathered from mortals were all taken away. The ones that were taken away were weak while only the strong ones were not taken.

The Olympian Gods have special ways to actually descend to the mortal realm and procreate with mortals. This is the reason why lots of them can actually have children with mortals in secret. The one that practically mastered this secret technique is none other than the God King Zeus. He is actually the one that has more than hundred or so children in the mortal realm because of this.

If you also counted the beasts that became his offspring then several hundred would be the number. Due to the numerous numbers of children, the God King Zeus did not really care much for those that are weak and easily fall. He always believed that surviving through the trial of the mortal world is something that a demigod mut achieve on their own.

He would give up on children that could not even break past through the next hurdle and only show favor to those that become demigods. The bloody survival method also made the children of the God King Zeus very powerful in Olympus as a result. It is not shallow to say that the God King Zeu has the most powerful army in all of Olympus because most of his children that are blessed have become gods because of him.

Even if the God King Zeus has great fertility to mortals, it does not mean that every child will live. Every child of Zeus must past three hurdles in their lives. One when they are born, one when they turn ten, and one when they turn twenty. The three hurdles are due to the curse that turned to law due to the madness of the God Queen Hera.

The God Queen Hera is the goddess of marriage hence she could not become unfilial with her husband even if she wanted to. If she became unfilial then she would practically be carving out her own divine power. A god must stand by what they are known and represent for which is why the God Queen Hera has always seen the bastards of the God King Zeus as eyesores.

The God Queen Hera also made thing difficult for the mothers and the children that the God King Zeus has relations with. As a result, the number of children that the God King Zeus have in the mortal realm that is in the several hundred would dwindle into a hundred or so after a few years. The God King Zeus did not reprimand his wife because this is what they have agreed upon in order for Olympus to be stable.

Back then, the God Queen Hera flew into so much rage when the God King Zeus had his first infidelity. The fighting between the two-shook Olympus to its core and the Twin Gods had to intervene to stop them. The Twin Gods only intervened to stop them but the God King Zeus made the God Queen Hera swear an oath that they can never harm each other.

In the end, the God King Zeus still ranked higher than his wife and the God Queen Hera can only suffer in silence. As a result of this, the God Queen Hera would be overcome with madness and take her anger onto the other party since she could not hurt her husband. It is only these few years that the God Queen Hera actually became calmer and would not fly into rage even with her husband pops out a bastard or two.

The God King Zeus immediately suspected his wife has something to do with the sudden dwindling of the bastard children that he has sired. He thought that his wife has already put it behind her since it was in his nature but he never thought that she would do a culling. The God King Zeus kept track of each of his children so that he knows their status but a lot of them suddenly started to vanish.

"Hera! My wife! What have you done to the children that I have sired?! Why are they suddenly vanishing from my detection!?" The God King Zeus stated as he walked towards the large courtyard of the God Queen Hera.

"I no longer care for the bastards that you have, husband. I am already raising a son that I bore on my own and am pouring all of my energy onto him. If they are getting killed then it is merely the law that I created out of spite for you to be culling them. I no longer obsess over them as I have better things to do." The God Queen Hera replied as she was observing how Alcides was doing.

"You do not lie, wife?" The God King Zeus replied in disbelief as he actually finally noticed the changes in his wife.

The God King Zeus actually liked riling up the God Queen Hera because she always presented herself as elegant and proper which he felt undermined by. There are whispers of how the God King Zeus does not have the bearing of a dignified king but they always praised the God Queen Hera for being the perfect queen. He still loved his wife but he loved himself more and would not let others be better than him.

The God King Zeus is actually genuinely shocked that his wife no longer obsessed over him and actually felt empty upon realizing so. He noticed that this indifference started when the God Queen Hera actually performed the natal ritual that made a mortal be reborn as a godblood son of her. The mortal in question was none other than the one named Alcides.

Alcides was an excellent mortal that the God Queen Hera favored because of his heroic spirit. In fact, the mortal Alcides is special as he is actually a player that obtained a body that has the blood of the God King Zeus. The God Queen Hera actually sent numerous roadblocks towards Alcides to try and kill him numerous times.

Alcides did get killed a few times but the God Queen Hera actually found his character moving and heroic. In the end, Alcides gained the respect of the God Queen Hera and first made him her champion. After seeing more of Alcides’ character, the God Queen Hera decided to finally take him in as her own son. The God Queen Hera used the special natal ritual that transferred some of her own blood into Alcides.

As a result, Alcides became a being that possessed the blood of the God King Zeus through a descendant and the blood of the God Queen Hera through the natal ritual. One could say that Alcides is a legitimate child of the two fierce rulers of Olympus. The God King Zeus thought that Alcides will join him as he is also his blood but he is actually fiercely loyal to the God Queen Hera.

It is also at this time that the God Queen Hera became more sensible and indifferent to the God King Zeus. The God King Zeus did not want to acknowledge it but the God Queen Hera no longer visited him in his main chambers ever since Alcides has appeared. The God Queen Hera placed all her energy into raising Alcides into a lesser god.

"This cannot be! If you are ont the one killing off the children that I sired then it must have been your fanatical followers!" The God King Zeus stated.

"Do not accuse me, husband. As I have said, I no longer care for those bastards. My followers are also struck by my divine strike if they dare harm children without just cause. Have you forgotten the promise that I have given to our grandmother?

Maybe you have offended some mysterious organization which made them hunt your bastards. Even I am thinking that they are pitiful that they are suffering that fate because they are related to you." The God Queen Hera stated.

"Is this really my wife? I can feel that her affection has been slipping away." The God King Zeus thought.

"Go now and investigate the matter with your bastards, husband. If you do not find out what is happening to them then they would surely be wiped out. Then again, you can just fill out that number again so I do not care." The God Queen Hera stated.

"I will need your help, my wife. You do know that I cannot investigate this without your help." The God King Zeus stated.

"If you want help from Hermes then just tell him. You no longer need to tell me because I am far too busy to deal with you anymore." The God Queen Hera stated as she chased the God King Zeus.
