Chapter 2597 - 709: You Deserve Someone Better to Love You (Part 2)

An Yiqing sighed, living in an aristocratic family always comes with some helplessness. No wonder Old Arthur was so upset; this matter would make anyone depressed.

"Try to comfort him often, at least he still has his youngest son and second daughter." An Yiqing said, pretending to be relaxed, as she patted Lanni’s shoulder.

Lanni nodded heavily, his clear and pure demeanor gained a touch of despondency, making him seem even more charming.

The next morning, An Yiqing got out of bed early. She opened the window, letting the December cold wind in, which gave her a chill. Taking a deep breath of the morning air, her mind cleared up significantly. The Stausauser Manor was filled with flowers, grass, and trees; even in winter, the air remained fresh and vibrant. Having smelled too much of the exhaust in the city and now seeing the floral and botanical beauty of the manor, An Yiqing felt her mood improve greatly.

After changing into sportswear, An Yiqing left the mansion and began jogging swiftly around the manor. She ran three laps, and after more than an hour, returned to the main house with a flushed face.

A red sports car was parked in front of the main house. An Yiqing blinked at the car and immediately guessed that Lanni’s second sister, Lina, had arrived.

Last night, Lanni mentioned that Lina was pregnant, so she didn’t have to adhere to the manor’s rules and could drive directly to the main house. Seeing the red sports car reminded An Yiqing of the first time she met Lina. Back then, Lina was strongly opposed to her performing surgery on Old Arthur and didn’t trust her at all. Lina was a woman full of pride, resembling Guh Siyi in some ways. However, unlike Guh Siyi who only cared about herself, Lina genuinely loved her father. For this reason alone, An Yiqing felt that this woman had redeeming qualities.

Drawing her thoughts back, An Yiqing cheerfully stepped into the main house. Old Arthur and Lanni, who were having breakfast in the dining room, saw her from afar.

"Xiao Qing, the servants told me you got up early, but I couldn’t believe it. Turns out it’s true." Old Arthur laughed and gestured, "Come have breakfast. I’ve asked the chef to specially make Xuanjin’s soy milk and fried dough sticks for you to try."

An Yiqing smiled as she walked over, nodded at Lina who was staring at her, and sat down. She picked up the soy milk and took a sip, squinting contentedly.

"Old Arthur, thank you for the effort, I really like it."

"I’m glad you do!" Old Arthur beamed, then shrugged, "Xiao Qing, I just asked someone to call President Zhang and the others downstairs, but they said they’d eat in their rooms. Old Arthur is quite helpless."

"Well, they are worried about you and brother feeling uncomfortable. Let them be, we’re all family here, so there’s no need for formalities."

Lina sat at the dining table, holding a cup of milk absent-mindedly. She occasionally glanced at An Yiqing, feeling somewhat conflicted. When she arrived, Lanni and their father had already informed her that they intended to recognize An Yiqing’s child as a grandson. This meant she would have another sister and nephew.

For ordinary families, acknowledging godchildren might not mean much. But in such a large family, acknowledging relatives signifies many things, such as property, status.

Lina liked money, and her lifestyle was accustomed to luxury. The three siblings had always had a strained relationship. The eldest brother and youngest brother fought tirelessly for the position of Family Head. Being a woman, Lina didn’t aspire for the Family Head position but hoped to receive a considerable inheritance in the future.

However, An Yiqing’s acknowledgment meant she would share a part of the Stausauser Family’s wealth.

Lina felt slightly displeased, but as An Yiqing was her father’s lifesaver, she had no way to refute or the qualification to oppose.

Exhaling a breath, Lina was unaware that An Yiqing had noticed her expression. An Yiqing lowered her eyes, sipping the soy milk to conceal the profoundness in her gaze.

"Miss Lina, I heard you’re pregnant. Congratulations."

Lina was startled and looked up at the smiling An Yiqing, unsure of how to respond.

Lanni glanced at the two, offering a gentle smile, "Second sister just got pregnant recently, Xiao Qing, could you check her condition? No outside doctor is as skilled as your medical arts."

Lina opened her mouth but said nothing. Truthfully, she was somewhat tempted.

An Yiqing glanced at Lina and nodded with a smile, "Sure, I’ll check Miss Lina’s condition after breakfast."
