Chapter 1931 - 1923 Must Die
Chapter 1931 - 1923 Must Die
The disruptive chaos generated by Long Shiya's Resonant Soul detonation left a lasting effect upon the Dark Void near the galactic border's outskirts as those tasked with galactic protection began to work tirelessly to placate the incessant rising phenomena. All seven Dao Enforcers and their respective Zeniths were in direct communication with various organizations to quell the unrestrained and potential aftershock-esque fallout. While they were distracted, the pirate vessel of Sovereign Steelguard, carrying Su Yi and Chu Xing, had executed a top-tier, risky execution of a Stellar Transit Light pathway to the outside. They had arrived in record time as Su Yi had unleashed an extraordinary art via the Sword of the Transient Realm, heavily leveraging the inherent Law of Acceleration within.
The urgency of his actions was deeply rooted in his valuation of favors and loyalty to his allies. Additionally, he knew from the detonation that there was something greatly amiss as Long Shiya, who was their ally against Heaven-Saint Neo-Dawn, had exploded at an extraordinarily vicious moment in inattention that could cost them their lives. The fates of the two Superior Sages at such close proximity could be bitterly imagined. Despite their renowned titles as Superior Sages, they were still Microheaven Envoys at the core, the same stage of cultivation as Long Shiya.
Superior Yujin was certainly caught in the explosion.
Fortunately, his accelerated rush was the correct decision; Superior Yujin had executed Soulguard Absconding, and his physical body was obliterated from the galaxy- threatening explosion. Moreover, unlike Long Shiya, his Soulguard Absconding was in true desperation of existential eradication, leading to him exerting considerable effort to stay alive. He ended up foggy and paralyzed, floating amidst the chaos of the remnant explosive force.
Su Yi had instructed Sovereign Steelguard on how to navigate the chaos, using his sword to cleave a clear path, and they found Superior Yujin barely conscious, about to be impacted by an insidious burst of chaotic void energy. Su Yi had directly intervened at the nick of time, retrieving his Resonant Soul from its hapless state. The injuries of Superior Yujin were severe, harming his very foundation. The self-detonation of a cultivator had always been horrifically terrifying, but rarely did it occur without warning, requiring a buildup of intention and power, allowing others to escape or defend.
The detonation of Long Shiya was extremely sudden and without any signs of warning. Meanwhile, as he was about to attack, his defenses were severely lacking. The fact that Superior Yujin lived at all was solely due to his charge toward Heaven-Saint Neo-Dawn, allowing him to gain significant distance between the epicenter and himself.
Su Yi sealed Superior Yujin in a curved glass bottle that glistened with Samsara Energy and was etched with mystical floral patterns of rapturous beauty and artistic brilliance. It was a short-term bandage to ensure his injuries didn't worsen.
As Su Yi looked outward toward the Dark Void, feeling a tyrannical gaze piercing through the chaos that shrouded the entire region, especially as various celestial phenomena of galaxy formation were occurring, making it extremely difficult to sense via Spiritual Sense or Soul Perception. He couldn't actually sense who the gaze belonged to, only that it had landed upon him, alerted by his hypersensitivity.
"Has his situation stabilized?" Chu Xing asked worriedly. Superior Yujin had given copious amounts of help over the years, some outright life-saving, such as his assistance in holding back Heaven-Saint Thunderhaven back then. A Heavenly Saint Alchemist, even one considered inferior by the galaxy's alchemic culture, could have caused far greater trouble for Su Yi if not for his interference. This was especially so as he was a genuine Superior Sage.
Su Yi's eyes narrowed.
Sovereign Steelguard examined the bottle in Su Yi's hands, his eyes glinting with interest and greed. That strange energy was extraordinarily tempting to every cell in his body. He didn't know why, but he felt that acquiring that energy would allow him to advance significantly as a Resonant Soul Realm cultivator. It might be the key piece needed to become a Superior Sage or even a Daoseed Seeker.
As a pirate by nature, he was prone to taking what he wanted by force. Su Yi had made an agreement with him to use his Void Vessel, and through verbal acceptance, they wouldn't act against each other. But no Mythical Oath or Mythical Contract was established. He didn't have to be friendly.
Chu Xing sensed his greed, furrowing her majestic brows. "You should have other things to worry about. You've offended a Heavenly Saint Alchemist. I might even suggest you take your vessel and depart post-haste.” Her warning caught Sovereign Steelguard's attention, but his only response was a grin.
It was clear that this so-called Heavenly Saint Alchemist had seized the body of a young alchemic talent, and his current cultivation was severely limited, especially since this youth seemed to be a prospective Dao of Virtue. Earlier, he barely inflicted any actual damage to any of the Superior Sages involved. What did he have to really fear? Taking a step forward, even if Wei Wuyin was here, he was within the range of the explosion. There was no hiding from that type of explosion. It would have reached every spatial dimension and the Void. There was no true escape. He would be injured if not have the body he had possessed outright destroyed.
“If you're not scared of that, you should be anxious about who schemed against the three Superior Sages. With a single stroke of their intelligence, they likely killed two and severely injured another. Such a person likely has very sinister intentions,” Chu Xing said with a tinge of mockery.
".." The Pirate Devil of Bloody Fortune, known as the Steelguard Devil, went silent and contemplative, solemn light flickering within his eyes. Chu Xing had hit a critical spot in his heart with great accuracy.
"Hm?" All three immediately turned to the swirling, twisting, bursting, colorful celestial chaos, and like a curtain, a figure parted the chaos and stepped forth shrouded by clear mystical light and illusory Mystic Runes at his feet and behind him like loyal soldiers.
Su Yi's expression was at ease on the surface, but there was a severity within the depths of his gaze.
Sovereign Steelguard's eyes narrowed sharply, overflowing with a soulful radiance as his Soul Perception was imbued within his eyes, executing an Ocular Sensory Spell to gauge the extent of damage that this body-thief had suffered. However, he couldn't find the slightest problem, not even a faint heaviness in his breath or weakness in his aura. Chu Xing's heart pounded with an abrupt sting of fear. Unease rained upon her mind and soul, unforgiving in its downpour. The grim desire to flee echoed within her every thought.
Wei Wuyin's eyes were hellishly cold, thunderously tyrannical, and precisely aimed at the curved bottle. Su Yi's grip on the bottle unconsciously tightened. Unfortunately, this bottle couldn't be sealed in his Internal World or Saint Ring; a Microheaven couldn't be contained within any ordinary spatial dimension, and Superior Yujin still had his Microheaven within his Resonant Soul.
"Emperor Weil" Sovereign Steelguard stood proudly, taking the lead as he stepped forth and spoke aloud with great vim and vigor. There was a rumbling force within his voice as he spoke, as if talking to an equal. "I se—"
"No." Wei Wuyi interrupted as his Spiritual Strength erupted in its entirety, focused completely on Sovereign Steelguard. It was a brute-force method of attack, easily seen through yet lightning fast. Sovereign Steelguard's eyes flashed with anger as he mounted a defense on his Sea of Consciousness, ready to defend one moment and ready for a counterattack.
This wasn't a simple spiritual attack. Wel Wuyin tapped into ALL five Mystic Souls’ spirituality at once, empowered by Little Defiant's boundless energy, unleashing the greatest spiritual strike at his base form!
Sovereign Steelguard's defense was vigorous and sturdy, backed by a defensive Spiritual Spell, a Resonant Qi Ward, and reinforced by his Mental Incantation to protect his Sea of Consciousness. A triple-layered defense. A typical form of defense. When the strike hit, the Pirate Devil of Bloody Fortune's eyes widened for a flashing moment.
Then, his eyes bled rivers of sanguine.
Then, his resonant qi ward trembled and thinned.
Then, his skin rippled violently as it was peeling from his body.
Then, his entire physical form was blasted diagonally, piercing brutally through his Void Vessel's hull, going all the way to the bottom, blazing a path for at least two hundred thousand miles into the depths of the chaos of the Dark Void before...his physical body EXPLODED!
A violent burst of Soul Light and Heavenly Radiance foretold the execution of a Soulguard Absconding, escaping without looking back.
Wei Wuyin didn't even glance at Sovereign Steelguard, his eyes focused on the bottle in Su Yi's hands. However, he lifted his hand, pointed his right pinky finger toward the escaping Sovereign Steelguard, unleashing one of the four arts that Magus had devised as a useful counter specifically for the Soulguard Absconding: Cyclic-Dawn Abjuration Art.
Suddenly, the comet of Sovereign Steelguard was robbed of all its momentum. No—that wasn't exactly correct. The concept of space and time became cyclical. Like a rat in a wheel, the Resonant Soul Realm flew! And flew! And flew!!
But it went nowhere. Eventually, as it kept pumping out power to fuel its escape, a strange occurrence unfolded as the region of roughly a thousand miles around Sovereign Steelguard's Resonant Soul began to crystallize. It was almost as if he was generating the necessary power to execute Void Crystallization!
More shockingly was a special secret realm that was created within the crystallizing region! Within it, a stasis loop was established, akin to the temporal phenomenon that Wei Wuyin had encountered in the White Abyss! An incongruous point in reality, constantly creating Paradoxical Energy...energy infusing within the mouse on the wheel... Few could understand the true horror of this art!
Chu Xing's entire complexion went frighteningly white. Su Yi's heart had almost leapt out of his chest. The sight of Sovereign Steelguard’s body being destroyed had shaken his heart, an extremely difficult feat to do. The pirate vessel was in total chaos as constant explosions and rumbling unfolded from destroyed mechanisms and formations alongside hectic cries of agony, panic, and death from those within the ship.
"Hand it over," Wei Wuyin calmly issued this three-word command, floating aloft as he looked down upon Su Yi and Chu Xing on the deck.
"Ah," a tiny yelp escaped Chu Xing's lips. The unease raining upon her had transformed into a torrential flood of fear. She finally realized why she felt so much fear.
Within Wei Wuyin was a Celestial Entity that felt as if it were a divine existence! Her True Soul, which had been cultivated using a cultivation method akin to the natural path of nurturing a Star Soul, was roaring and thrashing in abject horror. In her eyes, both pupils reflected Little Defiant's starry beauty, including all nine belts and both halos!
Su Yi stared at Wei Wuyin, calming his heart by leveraging all of his lived experiences, including the ups and downs of both of his lives. However, he genuinely sighed in his heart that his cultivation base had yet to enter the Resonant Soul Realm. If so, this situation may go differently. "Yijun Meng's offense towards you, I'm willing to offer payment for mercy."
"He must die," Wei Wuyin coldly stated.
".." Su Yi's brows furrowed slightly. He thought for a moment and was exasperated by the thought, but he inevitably said, "Yijun Meng saved Yue Baoyue's life once before. She owes him greatly." The words he spoke felt utterly ridiculous, but he had no recourse. It was either this or a fight; he refused to allow Yujin Meng to die here.
"Do you think I'll stay my saber's edge because of a woman? A woman who hasn't entered my bed? A woman who hasn't offered anything but continuous troubles? Yue Baoyue is a beauty, one that could shake a stellar region beyond a shadow of a doubt, with luscious lips that seemed capable of polishing any dragon to satisfaction, but enough to change my mind here?" Wei Wuyin asked with a voice rife with amusement. Su Yi slightly furrowed brows deepened. He couldn't help but wonder why Wei Wuyin was talking so much here. From what he gathered from his actions and aura thus far, he was direct and decisive. The act of asking questions was only done out of purpose. Suddenly, both of them, hypersensitive as could be, sensed a particular gaze land upon them. It was skillfully disguised as a random flow of chaos. And if it was anyone else, even Superior Sages, they wouldn't notice this gaze in the slightest.
This wasn't the first time Su Yi had felt this, but this was the first time that Wei Wuyin had directly felt it.
Someone was watching.
Wei Wuyin and Su Yi both acted as if they didn't feel anything, giving no one, not even each other, any indication that they'd noticed a single thing.
Su Yi replied, "Yue Baoyue would be eternally grateful. This blooming act will instill great gratitude, and when she's told while she resides in your tower, can open her heart."
Wei Wuyin felt exhausted in his heart. Su Yi's relevance had bottomed out in terms of fortune, but there was a specific reason he was entertaining this asinine conversation:That mysterious woman.
Potentially, an Inheritor of Sin.
“I would Kill you here and now, but I need you as bait. She has her eye on you, Wei Wuyin thought with swelling rage. He said directly, bringing out one of the nine Dao- Bound Flowers obtained from Kang Min-ji's garden, "His thread. That or existential death. Your choice."
“.." Su Yi saw the Dao-Bound treasures and instantly understood what Wei Wuyin intended. He couldn't make the choice for Yujin Meng, so he uncorked the bottle, briefly explained the situation, hoping to get through.
Shockingly, from the bottle, Yujin Meng's Quintessential Thread of Existential Self wiggled out and flew toward Wei Wuyin unhesitatingly. Wei Wuyin executed the technique to tether the thread to the flower, binding Yujin Meng's existence to it.
111 Years of Servitude.
"When you see Yue Baoyue, get on your fucking knees and thank her with tears and a bloody forehead on the ground,” Wei Wuyin said coldly as his eyes glistened with killing intent.
The bottle trembled as if agreeing vehemently.
Wei Wuyin glanced at Chu Xing, whose face was the picture of fear. He had used Little Defiant's to bolster his spiritual strike, and it seemed to have etched itself on her True Soul by mere proximity. However, while the Superior Sage had escaped death for now, Wei Wuyin had already decided—in 111 Years, Yujin Meng will die!
There was no other fate for him.
No other path left.
His execution was only slightly delayed for the greater picture, nothing more.
Anyone who dared to scheme against his family MUST DIE!
ALL OF THEM!
[Author's Note: Oh that art is straight brutal if you remember what happens to those in a stasis loop. xD
Also, it's pretty clear: Consolidated Microheaven Envoys ain't on his level anymore.]
