Chapter 1932 - 1924 As the Chaos Fades; A Third?

'He has an extraordinary bias toward Yue Baoyue, as I suspected. If not for her, this situation would have certainly spiraled.’ Su Yi concluded thoughtfully as he surmised that this emperor was greatly favoring Yue Baoyue, this little girl had inadvertently stumbled into the heart of a great figure. He was internally conflicted, knowing that at one point, Yue Baoyue's feelings for him had taken root. However, whether this emperor can truly acquire her heart was a different matter altogether.

"Report to the Neo Zenith Tower in three months’ time," Wei Wuyin coldly instructed Yujin Meng. The curved bottle replied with a faint tremble in Su Yi's hand, indicating some form of agreement.

"Are you sure your tower will exist in three months?" Su Yi asked, but Wei Wuyin's reaction was rather lukewarm, only a light glance of indifference. Su Yi's own expression was the very picture of unfettered immortal serenity, unaffected by the chaos ensuing below his feet as pirates scrambled for life amidst severe internal failure. The entire vessel was on the verge of falling apart. If so, then their fates could be imagined after entering the remnant chaos field of a Resonant Soul Realm cultivator's detonation.

it was difficult for any Mystic Ascendant Realm to perceive within it, let alone survive within the erratic outbursts of lethal dangers of spatial, temporal, radiant, celestial, and void phenomena. Without a Supreme Sage at the helm acting as a pilot, navigator, and protector, any vessel was destined for complete doom. This one here was no different. Cries of frightful pleas echoed out as they called for their leader's assistance.

Su Yi was just as indifferent, almost as if the fates of these pirates who took up the profession of raiding, piracy, murder, thievery, extortion, and racketeering of honest and innocent cultivators were up to the heavens to decide. Su Yi began floating off the deck, ready to take flight, reaching out to grab the frozen Chu Xing by the hand with his own. The beautiful female Supreme Sage recoiled at his reach, visibly shaken. She gazed at Wei Wuyin focusedly, without blinking at all.

Su Yi frowned. He felt it was inappropriate to investigate her reaction in front of Wei Wuyin, yet her paralyzing fear was as readily apparent. He couldn't fathom why, but Sovereign Steelguard's disastrous fate might have impacted her significantly. He thought for a moment and then looked at Wei Wuyin, who was calmly observing the ongoing chaos of the vessel's imminent collapse while standing aloft in the chaos like an emperor of Mystic Runes.

"Heaven-Saint Neo-Dawn, I must ask: Do you have any ill will against Daoist Chu?" His question echoed into Chu Xing's ears as she started visibly, gazing at Wei Wuyin like a lost house cat facing a great tiger king of the mountains.

"Against her?" Wei Wuyin shifted his gaze to Chu Xing. His eyes flashed with a distinct gentleness, bleeding out a hint of favoritism and interest. "Go with him. When I've finished my business, we'll have a talk at my tower." His words were like a great heavenly pardon, her entire body subconsciously relaxed and her Resonant Soul, which was trembling with bursts of solar flare-like soul energy, grew calm and hummed with excitement. It was incredibly odd, yet only these two understood the significance of her reaction and the reason why.

Chu Xing didn't reach to grab Su Yi's hand, but she flew off the vessel with blood slowly returning to her complexion. She silently smiled at Wei Wuyin with a tinge of sweetness. A sharp turn of reaction from before. The wonders of what a simple gaze and a soft, gentle voice of assurance could do for the soul.

Su Yi watched as she was about to depart. He furrowed his brows slightly, a wisp of discomfort in his heart brewed without warning or reasoning. He followed along, leaving the pirate vessel. The two left, Chu Xing used her Domain of Mysticism to stabilize the chaos, slowly carving out a path forward. Su Yi didn't exert himself.

However, when they reached about ten miles from the pirate vessel, Wei Wuyin made a move. He reached out toward the vessel and then clenched his fist with tremendous force. The pirate vessel was unable to last even a single moment as it crumbled together ike a balled-up piece of paper.

All cries, pleas, screams, and curses went silent.

Every.

Last.

Su Yi's spine shivered. “Death by association. The fate of those who've decided to follow the wrong person.’ He internally remarked about the fragility of decisions and choices, and how a single action of following someone had led to the death of promising individuals. He was no different; those who stood in his path of vengeance were mowed down like weeds.

He stopped, turned to see Wei Wuyin's back, whose billions of illusory Mystic Runes seemed to be silently quivering with unsettling, disastrous rage. "Do you know what has been happening in the Utmost Purity Galaxy during your absence?"

Wei Wuyin inhaled deeply, and the illusory Mystic Runes shrouding about his body of a paragon grew to five billion, restored to its original state. When he exhaled, the five billion experienced a strange scene akin to mitosis, where the five billion abruptly grew to ten billion!

Su Yi's pupils shrank.

Wei Wuyin's consolidated cultivation began to unify to a greater extent. He had synchronized two Mystic Cores’ Mystic Runes for the Ways of Mysticism—Ori and King. Each had their own set of Mystic Runes uniquely theirs, 405 each, totaling 2,025, clustering as nine groups representing the Ways of Mysticism to temper his physique through a natural cultivation process. Each cluster had 225 Mystic Runes of their designated type.

He had been trying to link each unique set with the other set, causing only 810 Mystic Runes to be under his direct control. This wasn't a matter of consolidation, but a process of familiarization. As each unique set within the nine clusters was linked with the rest, it seemed his Mystic Runes were undergoing a mitosis-like visual phenomenon. If his first guess was correct: five billion — ten billion — twenty billion — forty billion — eighty billion.

If not this path of progression, then his second guess was a multiplication of a far greater scale: five billion — ten billion — thirty billion — one hundred and twenty billion — six hundred billion.

At the end of either development, he concluded that his state would be able to undergo a fully physique-merging process and initiate the ascension to the Demi-Mortal Lord Phase without issue. However, regardless of which path it was, Su Yi was unable to even speak as illusory Mystic Runes dominated the region.

Wei Wuyin turned to him. The illusory Mystic Runes followed, clustering aggressively until they formed a small star-like sphere. The sphere was exactly ten meters in circumference, no longer illusory, and exuded a dense aura of unfathomability. Meanwhile, while Wei Wuyin had made a significant leap in his cultivation base, the inside of his body, specifically his Mind's Eye, was rife with activity.

Athena had gained a voice. Despite undergoing the process of transformation with Little Defiant's assistance of Star Soul Light, Ori, Eden, alongside Kratos and King, were talking as if at a family dinner. They circulated her in Heaven's Gate in their Mystic Forms.

Ori teased with jokes, laughter, and closeness. Despite being the oldest, it was the most energetic personality.

Eden advised with patience, wisdom, and warmth. Despite being the former youngest, but the youngest overall in terms of creation, it was the most calm and collected.

Kratos bragged with arrogance, tyranny, and fluffy exaggeration. Despite being a True Void Dragon, its strength was not in its mind, but in its heart to face Hell, Heaven, and Divinities without fear.

King listened with the occasional 'tch' here and there. Despite being mostly silent, it exuded a reliable aura that resembled an older brother who would slay ghosts, devils, and divinities for your eyes to shine beautifully with peace and happiness.

Magus corrected Kratos at times, causing the dragon to chomp at him as it fled, and when it inevitably failed to escape a True Void Dragon, any chunks taken out were nigh- instantaneously healed without any sign of weakness or depletion of strength.

Athena was overwhelmed by the showcase of affection. She was deeply shaken by how communicative and lively, truly sentient, sapient, and individually different each of them was. All their interactions before, if there were any that could be called that, had always been through Wei Wuyin's mental incantation acting as a mouthpiece or Eden's mental infusion that felt like a god was delivering messages.

This was rarely done, so mostly Wei Wuyin was the one who talked with her. Now, she could fully understand, communicate, and engage with each Mystic Soul. She had become part of the family.

And as a family, while they chatted, she subtly felt that brewing fury boiling within Wei Wuyin's heart. Festering uncontrollably, teetering on an edge. However, none of them were worried by this lingering will.

No, they encouraged it.

And so did she.

Gaining greater control over his Mystic Runes, Wei Wuyin calmly answered Su Yi: "The galaxy thinks I'm a fraud. That I am hijacking the body of a young alchemic talent. That I have no qualifications to stand beside the Zeniths."

“.." SU Yi wasn't too surprised by Wei Wuyin's conclusion. He slowly calmed himself down, eyeing the Mystic Rune Sphere with clear interest. He was about to speak when Wei Wuyin interrupted him.

“Or perhaps that there's a hidden power seeking to harm me for another reason? Likely entirely unrelated. Definitely relating to something in my possession. Something where offering a price can not reasonably obtain it from me or because their current standing relationship with me would cause me to not even consider it" Wei Wuyin's train of thought was laid bare.

“.." Su Yi stayed silent.

But Wei Wuyin continued, "Or that this is all a guise to scheme against me? Perhaps in your eyes, you may be rethinking that. The target might have always been those three Superior Sages. After all, Superior Duan was hated by far too many in and out of the galaxy as a clandestine leader of a shadow organization specializing in theft of information and reaping of lives, Heaven-Saint Thunderhaven had helped you thwart the intentions of numerous Supreme Existences, and Superior Yujin was a mere Void Hunter. Collateral?"

“.." Su Yi's eyes narrowed sharply.

Wei Wuyin chuckled, "Don't tell me you think I was involved in this? But then again, your thoughts aren't exactly unfounded. After all, I did weaken Long Shiya enough after a showy display of force under a shadowy curtain. After all, I did establish a seed of contradiction in everyone's hearts and minds. Why was I using Mystic Force? Who is this unknown Alchemic Talent? How did I become a Heavenly Saint Alchemist? Why should I be the eighth Zenith Tower?! Who am I even?"

"..." Su Yi's breathing pace increased as his expression grew darker by the moment.

"An elaborate plan layered by deliberate schemes that could shock the heavens. It's possible. It's all possible,” Wei Wuyin grinned. "Unfortunately, none of that is true. The actual truth of the situation is far greater than any of you will ever know. And I will be honest," he paused, taking his time to locate the Utmost Purity Galaxy that was enveloped in the Utmost-Heaven Guardian Array, "The dominoes I had set up had all fallen far, far faster than I had anticipated, and by a method that I hadn't expected, but they've fallen all the same. And my final goal was achieved."

“Your final goal?" Su Yi was unable to keep his silence!

Wei Wuyin nodded, his grin widening. “The array was activated."

"What?!" Su Yi couldn't fathom what that meant. The array? The Utmost-Heaven Guardian Array?

Wei Wuyin spun about, locating Su Yi as his Spiritual Strength parted the chaos between them, allowing him to see him clearly. A pair of dark eyes and a pair of silver eyes met, illuminated by ambition and a thriving Heart of Cultivation.

CRACK!

A sound of crystal fracturing gently swept the souls of all who could hear it.

“Can I tell you a story?" Wei Wuyin gently asked, his grin fading.

“..." Su Yi felt his heart begin to race, but he didn't refuse. He nodded.

“When I was a young man, not even a century old, I was once hurtled across the starry skies beyond my power, leaving behind my starfield. As I did, I remember seeing the endless beauty of the brilliant stars decorating my entire world. At the time, I hadn't realized the cage I lived in, but when I saw it, I had a single desire. A single want. A single will pounding on my heart like a drum with thunderous strikes. Do you know what that was?" Wei Wuyin slowly asked.

Su Yi didn't answer, his breathing growing heavy by an inexplicable diffusing of paragonic will. The intensity of each word was like thunder.

Wei Wuyin's lips lifted without effort or thought, forming a flawless, natural, and unrivaled smile: *I want it all."

Eeceeeeekl!

An eerie sound reminiscent of a hollowing ghost exploded across the Dark Void. Su Yi's gaze was unable to leave Wei Wuyin's form as a suctioning force erupted behind him, almost several million miles away, yet it seemed to serve as a backdrop as a swirling whirlwind of chaos formed until it compressed.

He saw an illusory river sweep across the world, grander than anything he'd even seen. it arrived briefly, like a flash of lightning upon this reality, upon this timeline. He recognized it only once, having seen it during a tribulation from an incomparably far distance... It was the manifestation of time itself, the River of Time! Others who have never seen its true form call it something else entirely: The Keeper of Time!

When it vanished, the chaos of the region began to rapidly fade without warning, and he no longer sensed Sovereign Steelgua—uh, he no longer sensed that Supreme Sa—wait, was there a cultivator just now? Whose vessel did he arrive here on?

As confusion besieged his mind, Wei Wuyin repeated softly to himself in a whisper:

“I want it all."

An unfettered primordial sin scouted its next target, unable to tell that this target may very well have...more than a single sin already.

Erdiul's Note: Damn. These past few chapters have been the most emotions WW has shown in a while, he actually feels like the MC again. We seem to be on a good track right now for this novel, hopefully it stays that way.
