Chapter 1958 Chapter 1950: Beyond Her Continent; Anti-Divination
Chapter 1958 Chapter 1950: Beyond Her Continent; Anti-Divination
Wei Wuyin was briefly rendered speechless. After so many years, he had lost the feeling of experiencing such direct vulgarity from others, long since grown used to being treated with respect, caution, fear, or admiration. Caught off guard by the surprisingly refreshing feeling, Wei Wuyin laughed with an unfettered heart.
Yan Zhu's eyes never left Wei Wuyin.
"Have we?" Wei Wuyin asked teasingly, using his silver eyes to roam her body with keen interest and overt lust, a grin at his lips. Before Yan Zhu could dwell on it, he dispersed her lingering response hanging on her mortal tongue, "No. We did not."
Yan Zhu relaxed instantly with a breath of relief. Then, she observed the room. The design and quality far exceeded anything in her past life. She didn't move without fear, but she was comforted that she still held breath in her lungs, and that her fate was not one where she woke in steel restraints or completely nude, in some cold, damp cage.
The last thing she could remember...was...
Instinctively, she touched her chest again. The lack of a gaping hole blasted through her heart by a qi-imbued fist was entirely absent. "How did you save me? I thought you were dead?" She returned her gaze to Wei Wuyin, especially catching a glimpse of the wild beauty that clung to him tightly by his side.
"I didn't," Wei Wuyin answered. "Not entirely," he clarified as her expression began to change. Yan Zhu was a mere mortal, her cultivation and understanding were severely lacking in the world, and so much had happened that would lead her to experience a form of existential crisis. However, he didn't hide the essential truth from her.
"You died. Your family mourned. Your friends have aged. Your home has wilted. What you felt back then in your last moments was true. Death had taken you."
||
." Yan Zhu's heartbeat began to speed up, her hands grew cold, and her breath was held in her chest. She took a while before the desire for air was awakened by her bodily urge, forcing her to take a large, gasping breath. With trembling fingers, she clutched the sheets of the bed tightly.
She asked with a hoarse voice, grumbling with grim realization, "Is this...the afterlife?" In the Myriad Yore Continent, the mythos for the afterlife was far stronger than other cultures, divided by several possibilities, ranging from an everlasting peace to an infinite and cruel hellish eternity.
Wei Wuyin was supposed to be dead. And now, here she was, next to her as she awoke. Was he the familiar face sent to usher her to the next life? To accept her circumstances? The stories echoed in her mind and heart, causing emotions to swell uncontrollably within her chest.
Wei Wuyin calmly reached out. She sensed the warmth and gesture to offer comfort. Yan Zhu couldn't resist, desperately seeking something besides the cold cruelty of dying and leaving all behind. She reached out and held his hand, on the verge of choking on tears.
"No," Wei Wuyin gently answered. "You've died. But after several decades, what could be considered keeping your body through the obscure vastness of time and space, I've brought you back after ensuring your life wouldn't be in danger after awakening.
"Today, you're alive. But you're no longer where you once were. You're no longer in the Myriad Yore Continent, no longer in the Wu Country, no longer in the Scarlet Solaris Sect's territory." As his words reached her ears, avoiding the profound heist that had been unleashed that defied reason and all past attempts, Yan Zhu's tears began to stifle their release.
"You...kept my body? You...wait. Decades? You brought me back to life?" She was fiercely blown back by this truth that few mortals could conceivably understand, unable to wrap her head around it, and an inkling of suspicion was born in her heart. She grew vigilant, probing directly: "Why?"
Fortunately, she originated from the Myriad Yore Continent. The small land mass was filled to the brim with stories of resurrection and godly tales, so coming back to life wasn't completely foreign to her. Moreover, as she looked at the man before her, his eyes of silvery beauty and majesty that seemed to contain an eternal life that could defy fate and even death, she subconsciously believed it. It was almost as if those eyes contained unrestrained truth.
Wei Wuyin smiled, "If I said it's because I admire you, and that after decades of lived experiences, experiences that would cause divinities and immortals to be shaken, that you've stayed within my thoughts this entire time, would you believe me?"
"...Bullshit." Yan Zhu spat out without the slightest hesitation.
Wei Wuyin laughed with amusement. That was the truth! Kind of.
Yan Zhu was keenly aware of her beauty and allure. Moreover, Wei Wuyin was by far an extraordinary existence that could freely select women in the Wu Country, just on his appearance alone, which was outrageously handsome to an unearthly level, carrying extremely attractive qualities. She, like many of the women in the sect, had often dreamed about gaining his interest.
However, he was distant and embroiled heavily in the contest amongst the Inner Disciples, which later evolved into the Core Disciples disputes. If not for his sudden disappearance, including the rumors of him relying on an evil charming spell, and her wholehearted pursuit of the spear, she might have... Regardless, to her, their relationship wasn't remotely close enough to instigate such a death-defying task. They weren't Dao Companions or lovers. She was not his wife, and they were barely even allies. Why would this man, who was believed to have perished, keep her corpse for decades to bring her back?
She was unable to accept the reasoning, though she didn't think he was lying.
"Then, should we fuck?" Wei Wuyin asked with a teasing glint in his eyes, blasting her back with her vulgarity.
"..." Yan Zhu.
"After all, men have done much more for women they've desired in history." When those words left his lips, Yan Zhu pouted slightly. She didn't release his hand, but she remained silent for a long, long moment.
Seeing her reaction, Wei Wuyin ceased his teasing, asking: "Does it matter why?"
Yan Zhu's eyes narrowed, sharply replying: "No and yes."
Wei Wuyin nodded in response, "Are you willing to become my spear? Simultaneously, also become my woman in this new life of yours?"
Yan Zhu's eyes widened slightly with surprise, and then her heart, mind, and soul felt a sense of cooling relief. It didn't matter why Wei Wuyin had saved her life, but if it was so simple due to admiration, she would be suspicious of his intentions. She didn't want to be a Yin Cauldron. However, she was keenly aware of cultivators who saved others for service.
She was entirely unaware that countless women of multiple galaxies, something that her mortal mind limited by the vastness of a single continent would be unable to comprehend, would feel incomparable envy at this offer. However, she was aware that Wei Wuyin, who was obviously alive and well, was doing decent enough to accumulate the power to bring back the dead.
He had attained the elusive Astral Core Realm that stood at the peak of the continent in just a few decades? How wondrous!
She was always direct in her actions, as sharp and piercing as a spear. "I don't wish to lose my Primal Yin until after I enter the legendary Mortal God stage. I hope that you can respect that."
'Legendary?' Wei Wuyin was amused as he caught sight of her untouched Primal Yin Source. The woman who was going absolutely wild in the Yang Yore Fields had kept her chastity even in death? As for the Mortal God stage, that brought about a wave of nostalgia. Back then, all those years ago, he strove for the same level.
Those who were called Mortal Gods in the Myriad Yore Continent, coined by the scheming Han Xei as a joke, were at the False Reality Phase of the Qi Condensation Realm. Thinking back to that time, he couldn't help but erupt in a bout of uncontrollable laughter.
Yan Zhu pouted, feeling as if he was mocking her. She used a discreet spell to verify her Primal Yin was intact, and only after doing so, did she narrow her eyes and say: "What? You can't wait that long?"
Wei Wuyin's laughter grew even louder, unable to hold himself back. He could feel her tighten her grip on his hand, clearly angry. He was on the verge of tears, and he had to use every ounce of his willpower to stop himself. "Yan Zhu, do you trust me?"
"No." She flatly replied. "I trust you as far as I can throw you. And considering your size, those clearly trained muscles of yours, and how tall you are, probably not very far, if at all."
Direct as ever.
"Good. Then, allow me to expand your mind." He brought out an elixir in a jade vial, and then his finger glinted with a soft radiance of akashic seven-colored light.
Her eyes widened as she felt her Heart of Qi stir upon observing the vial. She thought for a second, vigilant yet fearless, as she grabbed the vial without hesitation. She looked at Wei Wuyin briefly, who urged her with a smile, and poured its contents into her mouth. She swallowed immediately.
Since she was here, already deciding to trust this man, and having felt death at her final moments, there was no need to hesitate in trusting him despite her earlier words. If he wanted to harm her, he could have just left her for dead. And if he wanted her body, there was no need to do all this. She didn't think she was important enough for all this effort.
As she felt a refreshingly minty cool sensation sweep across her entire body, her mind felt light, and her spirit was weightless. When she felt the warmth of Wei Wuyin's finger on her glabella, she didn't resist or recoil from his touch. Allowing herself to be swept away by the feeling of warmth and coolness, bringing with it an indescribable
comfort to her soul.
A full seven minutes later.
Her eyes opened with a flutter. When she did, she saw Wei Wuyin's unearthly handsome face with a lingering smile
of relief.
Throughout those seven minutes, information infused her entire mind, filling her with wonder and disbelief of an indescribable flavor. She had learned it all. She learned of the destruction of the Myriad Yore Continent after a Star-Devourer had devoured their Solar Stars that hung in the sky, and the subsequent passage of time.
She learned about the Mortal Realms. She also learned about things she normally couldn't with no issue, despite her low cultivation base, such as the ranks of an Alchemist, including the faint elusiveness of the Mystic Ascendant
Realm and Resonant Soul Realm.
The vastness of the starry skies.
Starfields.
Stellar Regions.
Galactic Zones.
Galaxies.
Lesser Galaxies.
Greater Galaxies.
The Holy Void of Fortune.
A brief overview of each galaxy, including the scale of her continental home in comparison to it. It was no different than a mortal watching a moving picture of a detailed scaling showcasing the size of their world in comparison to the largest Solar Star in existence, scaling from their own star which was one of the smallest to this. It was incomparably enlightening. Almost overwhelming.
Without hesitation, she found herself reaching out with her entire body, holding Wei Wuyin tightly. Tears from her eyes couldn't be stopped as they flowed uncontrollably outwards, wetting his clothes. She finally understood what the word 'ignorance' meant.
After digesting it all, she passed out. It was natural and accepted. She found solace in the embrace of the man who saved her life, overwhelmed by the sheer scale of everything. But with his presence, the skies and the oceans, the stars and the countless worlds felt...manageable.
Wei Wuyin placed her down. Then, turned to Pakhet, whose eyes were open as she observed Yan Zhu's reaction.
"You're thinking about what makes her so special?" Wei Wuyin asked as he gently wiped the tears from Yan Zhu's eyes, ensuring she was positioned properly so her neck or body wasn't in an unnatural position.
Pakhet didn't hide it as she lifted her upper body upwards from the bed, nodding in response. The feat that Wei Wuyin had just performed was god-like. The risk and dangers were so horrifically high that a single mistake could have caused existential and temporal erasure.
Why was this vulgar woman so special?
"She has a special quality, no doubt. But if you're looking to weigh it over the risk, then there's no comparison. She's worth it. Why exactly?" Wei Wuyin asked himself, and then he thought about his alternative selves memories, and all his experiences thus far, and gave a very simple and direct answer: "Because I believe so."
Pakhet's heart trembled violently in her chest! It was a simple statement yet it held a level of tyranny that was unrivaled throughout heaven and earth! Why defy the world, time, the very cycle of life itself? Because I believe it
was worth it!
"Would you..." She was about to ask a question but halted herself in the end.
"Without a second thought," he answered sharply, imbued with a staunch will and honesty.
Wei Wuyin couldn't help but glance at this woman. When did her interest in him change? He couldn't fathom why his Alchemic Knight was now developing these uncertain feelings. Before, she was indifferent to his charm and status. She didn't even hint at any form of interest and kept it flawlessly professional. Her lack of interest was a prominent reason why he had decided to make her an Alchemic Knight. It wasn't too important, but there was already the Valkyrie who were both his women and warriors tasked with protecting his legacy should his life come
to an abrupt end, which he intended to place Yan Zhu as.
Was it the Dawning Day of Supreme Death?
Or perhaps, it was simply this event? The act of trusting her wholeheartedly for a dangerous venture? He couldn't figure it out, and besides surface-level emotional fluctuations, he refused to delve into the secret thoughts of those close to him. Perhaps another version of himself wouldn't mind, but he definitely couldn't do so, breaking a boundary of trust. Whether it was Mei Mei or Pakhet.
Pakhet's eyes lifted, meeting his own. That answer was like a hammer to a heart-blocking dam, nearly shattering it
and causing it to flood out. She nodded and then slowly rose.
"How are you feeling?" Wei Wuyin asked.
"I feel healthy. My body and soul have fully recovered," Pakhet answered as she slowly fixed her unruly hair, tying
it into a ponytail.
"It worked!" Magus cheered. "The foundation of the spell is viable! You see! It's viable!" Magus jumped about like a hyped up scholar while Ori danced excitedly by its side. The duo was miraculously chaotic in terms of their energy.
Wei Wuyin smiled proudly.
Meanwhile...
Observing everything from far away, the elderly Fuxi was eagerly watching a single flowing stream of time in a
stream of a myriad others.
Some were faint while others had prematurely ended, merging with others or simply stopping forever. This particular flow of time had two other streams merging with it simultaneously, prematurely ended by something. But if one looked at its length, there were many branches created from it, existing on their own, generating other streams, many of which came to an abrupt end after a short while.
There were only three branches that thrived alongside this stream, all coming from a single source.
"This young man...actually created a way to avoid the eyes of the Daos! What a daring and aggressive action! Haha! What else will you do?"
"...leveraging the Void's power and influence, we can avoid the Heavenly Daos' gaze. You can now speak freely to
others without a backlash as a Blessed or a Sinner. With this, we might be able to fool it without relying on this Bloodline of Sin," Magus was incomparably excited as Eden explained the profound depth of Magus' new spell.
It was designed for Anti-Divination, and hopefully, if developed in the future, obscure or trick those scheming Heavenly Seers. The encounter with Heavengazer Encompassing-Night was too dubious, while the friction with the three Supreme Seers was bound to erupt, given the prophecy.
Wei Wuyin had openly spoken to Pakhet about the heavens and Heavenly Daos, verifying that he was aware of its
existence as a Blessed, a taboo, yet nothing came about it. This verified that it worked and could be extended to
others.
It wasn't an understatement to say that this short venture was a dual experiment that had yielded the greatest harvest imaginable for him.
As he pondered this, he thought of a test. And as this thought bloomed, a sinister, scheming grin surfaced on his
face.
Before he immersed himself in his own brilliance, a tall woman stood before him. Her wild, primal bearing was
restrained, gentle even. Lifting his gaze, he met hers, and a very familiar glint in her eyes shone without fear.
A sound-blocking barrier was erected around Yan Zhu.
"You..." Wei Wuyin's words barely left his lips before a softness landed on them.
