Chapter 1964 Chapter 1956: Gathering of Blessed, Empyreans, & Sinners (2)
Thunderous explosions.
Spiritual screeches, decisive commands, and wails of despair.
Violent flashes of astral and mystic light, piercing viciously across the Dark Void, slamming brutally into collaborative manifestations of astral force and mystic power, defending against or crumbling at the touch of them. Cultivators of great strength wielded Worldly Domains, peak Astral-grade Armaments, and Mystic-Earth tools against each other in lethal combat.
There was a clear division of forces and purpose-three distinct forces gathered against seven. A total of ten organizations clashed in fierce conflict, streaking across the Dark Void and the various planets within the rogue starfield. The death toll rose with every second as cities, towns, and innocent lives were razed to the ground by zealous enemies due to their defeated defenses.
The Byr Kingdom was at war!
They stood amongst the three against the formidable others, allied with only two other organizations, they commanded the greatest strength, but not the highest number of forces. They were outnumbered, ground down by their enemy's outrageous numbers.
Yan Zhu's eyes widened as her eyes absorbed the bloody chaos unfolding before her. Despite having received Wei Wuyin's knowledge and teachings of the expanse of her known world, even after abolishing her cultivation base to begin anew, experiencing a degree of power at the First Stage of the Qi Condensation Realm that rivaled, even faintly, exceeded her peak cultivation base, exposing her to the true limits of her potential, seeing a rogue starfield at war was an indescribable experience.
Once upon a time, Astral Core Realm cultivators were beyond the concept of gods to her, as mythical as the Immortals highlighted in those children's stories meant to inspire youngsters to cultivate and emulate their bearing, and yet they were being cut down, blasted apart, or sundered into nothingness by radiant light beams of tyrannical power like common fodder.
She was unable to reconcile such drastic changes so easily. However, this allowed her to see the fragility of cultivators, reinforcing her will to pursue excellence with this second chance of hers. Her eyes radiated an unshakeable intent as her gaze absorbed all that chaos.
Wei Wuyin could sense her inner turmoil, slowly seeping into her Heart of Cultivation, strengthening it with invisible and formless pressure. He had once felt similar, especially overwhelmed by the realization of his ant-like existence and hellish fate that was quite literally thrust upon him without his consent.
After all his experiences and struggles, he stood here today as an entity that stood near the peak of the hierarchy for his societal standards of cultivation and acquired power. Whether it was status, wealth, strength, potential, means, or subordinates, he was in the top 1% of existences out there. And in some categories, he was by far Number ONE without competition within the entire galactic cluster.
The path of a paragon was unprecedented and unrivaled by all other paths, and while it was merely an early concept of his by this point, a road by which he felt urged to travel upon despite its great difficulties and horrific dangers due to his existence as a mortal forced to face the fury of Hell, the machinations of the First Sinner, and under the observation of the Heavenly Daos.
As the fighting raged fiercely, the Unfettered Dawn arrived at the edge. It caught the attention of some commanders on both sides. They were instantly stunned. The flag raised proudly on the Unfettered Dawn was one that only the ignorant would be unaware of, and most of them were of that degree of ignorance.
The symbol of the Neo-Dawn Empire!
The unforgettable insignia representing the Eighth Zenith Tower, the Neo Zenith Tower of the Utmost Purity Galaxy!
However, the faint aura of unfathomable that was far, far beyond their understanding emanating from the ship's natural usage of formations and arrays was unmistakable! They could sense that the grade of this ship far exceeded Mystic-Earth, and likely beyond Mystic-World! Even if they were ignorant of the insignia, they were keenly aware of the high status and powerful existence likely on board!
The fighting mellowed out a little in the Dark Void. However, they still unleashed orders for battle. Especially planetary ground troops, they were locked in intense battle where orders couldn't be instantly given, especially as irrelevant as developments occurring in the Dark Void. Those commanders designated envoys to investigate the origins of the ship and their purpose. If they were here as reinforcements for their enemies, this would not bode well.
Wei Xiaotian's eyes swept over the forces present, her eyes gleaming with emotions. This was conflict. This was war. This was a battle fueled by interests and desires, sometimes those desires meant protecting what you already possess, defending them against an invasive theft, and sometimes it was desires meant acquiring greater resources to pursue higher limits of cultivation.
This was the struggle.
Wei Wuyin calmly observed all the death, destruction, pain, suffering, hatred, sin, and fortune that were being interchanged throughout this conflict, allowing some to rise above the clouds while others to meet their untimely demise with regret in their throats. Several tiny-sized Void Vessels made their way over, but they were rather slow.
In terms of scope of influence, especially when it came to the shrinkage of traversal limitations, Wei Wuyin had long since grown far too great with his Void Portals and Star Discs. Typically, Dark Void travel was a lengthy process. Even the closest ship might take days to reach him in something as relatively tiny as a rogue starfield in the grand scale of the Holy Void of Fortune.
It was often forgotten by Wei Wuyin that even Resonant Soul Realm experts traveling at full speed took months to reach between galaxies, and the greater galaxies out there were the union of dozens, if not tens of thousands of smaller galaxies integrated through ancient and current cultivators' continuous efforts. The Utmost Purity Galaxy was disgustingly massive in comparison to the Resolute Dusk Galaxy or Sky Heart Galaxy.
It was comparing an island to a continent. Despite fewer galaxies similarly being composed of multiple smaller galaxies long since merged, they were far less in number. It was said that the Blessed Yri Empire's Galactic Zone was larger than the largest lesser galaxy. Simply incomparable.
These Void Vessels were designed for fast travel, but in the chaos of the battlefield, they had to navigate manually, unable to Spatial Shift freely, and none of them had Stellar Transit Light Formations or Void Shifting Formations on board.
The only reason they were instantly noticed was due to the Unfettered Dawn's pulsating, fairly inactive aura that disturbed the entire celestial region, something that could be seen and sensed from the farthest part of the rogue starfield by even Realmlords.
Wei Wuyin was kindly reminded of his ever-rising platform of perspective from this relatively slow initiation of contact, nostalgia as he recalled his early days prior to his mastery of the Void Portal Creation Art, where he would take days to travel to cities on Skyships on the Myriad Monarch Planet.
Absorbing all this, he calmly spoke a single word:
"Cease."
It rippled outwards, gently, yet tyrannically dominant to every sense, spreading through his spiritual strength, laced with the Imperial Heaven Aura and the aura of Imperial Law. Immediately, the orbit of planets, the soaring of vessels, the lethal attacks mid-motion about to claim lives, the formations and arrays on towns, cities, fortresses, laid out on mountains, every living thing's physical movement, thought, and cultivation base ceased operating.
They froze.
Nothing moved. Not even Chaos Mana or planetary mana.
Nothing!
Then, quietly, every lethal threat and cultivation base of each cultivator was sealed, ceased operating entirely, but they soon regained their freedom. Without fail, every living thing looked toward the direction the Unfettered Dawn existed. Despite many lacking eyes that could not see, and senses that could not register the Unfettered Dawn, they did so unfailingly.
Peace descended upon a single word.
Without a single motion, ten Void Portals were conjured before the Unfettered Dawn. Pulled out from them were cultivators. Exactly ten. They had cultivation bases ranging from Demi-Mortal Lord to the Worldly Saint Phase. Each had varying expressions, some were cautious, others horrified with bubbling fear, and a singular one was fearlessly calm. Her cultivation was the lowest, and she was simultaneously the youngest.
Her blessed aura was seething with growth and expenditure, like a worn-out heartbeat that refused to surrender; she was a Blessed.
Wei Wuyin floated toward the ten. They found themselves already within the range of the Unfettered Dawn's atmospheric formation, immediately realizing the ambient energies were indescribably pure and abundant. This was far greater than any cultivation grounds in their entire starfield by a margin so great it was inestimable.
Seeing a man, garbed in a mixture of imperial, martial, and alchemist robes, all designed to rule, battle, or concoct products, they were stunned. Not just by his extraordinary demeanor, but his appearance carried an unearthly charm and handsome features that far exceeded their every experience. Even the fearlessly calm woman among them was unable to remain serene as his silver gaze met her eyes.
"My subordinate contacted the Byr Kingdom to obtain the rights to utilize the Stellar Battlefield's access formation," Wei Wuyin's words were slow, deliberate, and resonating with unquestionable power. Within his tone, there was the faintest sign of annoyance.
An older gentleman in armor stood out, his greying hair, full beard, and straight posture radiated a masculinity of age, experience, and command. "Your Excellency, we were not aware of your request to the collapsing Byr Kingdom's current leadership. I humbly extend my apologies if we're delaying your matters with our insignificant conflict." He immediately defaulted to a servile demeanor, not feeling ashamed in the slightest, but not forgetting to state the current condition of their enemy.
After all, the fighting had ceased in a single word, and he was pulled out of his bunker without the slightest ability to resist, his Worldly Saint Phase cultivation base be damned, this man was far beyond his understanding. He didn't wish to offend this person in the slightest.
Wei Wuyin ignored this older gentleman whose cultivation base was the highest amongst all present, even himself. He looked at the young woman, her calm bearing was remarkable. A woman of fortune was a different breed indeed.
"Greetings Your Excellency. I introduce myself as Angelica Byr, and I hope you can forgive my Kingdom's failings by showcasing this poor display of territorial control. If you wish, I will immediately bring you to the Stellar Access of Order & War. As long as General Vaughn does not seek to hinder you." The woman's words were eloquent and precise.
Wei Wuyin was interested in their naming sense. It was unique, divergent from the typical structure of the Holy Void of Fortune, Celestials, or Titans. They weren't a unique race, they were all humans. It must be a cultural thing that evolved over the years.
The older gentleman panicked slightly as he hastily said, "O-of course not! Please, Your Excellency, I'll escort you myself. My Kane Family has seized control over the access point from the useless Byr Family, I hope you'll forgive us for any inadequacy in preparation for your arrival."
Seeing this elite expert so servile was enough to make the three who were against him feel some relief from the tension.
Wei Wuyin eyed the older gentleman briefly before nodding in acknowledgement. He was about to send the other nine back, when the young woman urgently moved, her eyes resolved with steel-like willpower. "In our discussion with your illustrious envoy, it was said that our Byr Kingdom will be able to send a battalion to accompany you. I wonder...if that is still valid?"
The older gentleman immediately realized what she intended to do, "Your Excellency! There's no need to adhere to such a past arrangement. They no longer have any control or rights to the access point. I suggest you..."
Wei Wuyin interrupted dryly, "You suggest?"
"...!" The older gentleman was instantly cold, as if he was dumped into a glacial domain of hellish death and despair.
Seeing this, some of them were terrified while others were gleeful. This stupid fool was far overreaching his station, trying to offer suggestions and advising this foreign expert!
"FORGIVE ME, your Excellency!" The older gentleman immediately kneeled without hesitation, pleading for mercy. Death hung on his head, and he tasted it on his lips. That gaze was as if hell itself existed there, seen and conquered, and easily unleashed.
Wei Wuyin ignored his groveling, "My dealings are always valid. You may select a battalion to accompany me. When you're done, contact me through this," he tossed a Void Ring over, "Until then, I would rather not deal with the noise." He gazed briefly at each present, and they immediately understood no intent.
None had any objection.
A temporary ceasefire was formed without hesitation by each of them, discussed in the shortest amount of time possible. Then, and only then, were the Sky Vessels and Void Vessels on the planets and in the Dark Void begin functioning. However, cultivators throughout found that they couldn't muster the slightest power to unleash an attack or rely on external tools for battle.
Any attempt fizzled.
Those who tried again suffered a backlash that either crippled down or killed them outright.
Wei Wuyin's imperial edict remained in effect. Until someone abolished his existing edict, fighting was outright prohibited within the rogue starfield.
"Each of you, gather a battalion of soldiers as well. I'll bring them along to fulfill the quota. Consider this an opportunity," Wei Wuyin calmly said before he sent them back with a wave of his sleeves. They were unable to ask questions or even object. This was an absolute order.
Wei Xiaotian blinked, "There's a lot."
Wei Wuyin noddingly replied: "I know."
There were a lot of Blessed here, born from war! And with his order, Karmic Fortune was exhausted endlessly! This wasn't a direct result of his intervention, but the aftereffects of the machinations of the Heavenly Daos that extended into each galaxy!
A gathering of the Blessed was happening en masse!
