Chapter 1089: Chapter 1306: I’m 30?
Three years passed by in a blur of Julian's laid-back lifestyle and Main Mission.
"Happy birthday to you~ Happy birthday to you..."
In the backyard of the house, the family and the Pokémon were celebrating Julian's birthday—his 30th birthday!
From this day on, Julian Walker, the dream of a billion girls in the nation, was no longer a young man in his twenties.
He had officially entered his thirties.
Although thirty wasn't old at all, and Julian's face showed no signs of aging, still looking exactly as it did when he was twenty...
The fact remained that he was now a thirty-year-old man.
Listening to his family sing "Happy Birthday," a faint trace of melancholy appeared on Julian's face.
'Sigh, I'm already thirty.'
There was a pretty popular saying nowadays: 'You're thirty and still don't have a girlfriend—you must have saved up a lot of money, right?'
Of course, this definitely didn't apply to Julian, but because he was celebrating his thirtieth birthday, he couldn't help but think of that meme.
"Big brother, hurry up and make a wish!"
Seven-year-old Jade eagerly urged Julian after the birthday song ended.
"I wish that when I grow up, I'll become an invincible and beautiful magical girl, or the second-best trainer in the world!"
As for the title of the world's number one trainer, that belonged to her brother.
Jade generously declared that she wouldn't compete with him for it.
"Jade, what are you saying?"
Her mother, Alice, lightly tapped Jade's forehead with her finger.
Jade stuck out her tongue playfully.
Looking at the candle shaped like the number 30 on the birthday cake, Julian was speechless. He had clearly told Love he wanted a candle shaped like 18, so how did it still end up being 30 again?
Women could apparently stay eighteen forever. But men had to honestly celebrate turning thirty.
In an era that promoted gender equality, this really seemed unfair.
Julian silently complained in his heart before blowing out the candles.
"Big brother, what did you wish for?" Jade asked curiously.
"Not telling you," Julian shook his head. "If I tell you, it won't come true."
"Stingy~" Jade pouted.
"Julian, hurry up and cut the cake!" Celebi was already growing impatient.
"Alright, alright, I won't forget your share."
Julian picked up the knife, cut the cake into several portions, and handed them out to his family.
For his thirtieth birthday, not only had his maternal grandparents come, but even his grandmother had traveled from Orient City.
Adding in his three uncles and all of his cousins, the backyard was packed with people.
"Julian, where's mine?"
Seeing that Julian still hadn't given it a piece, Celebi immediately grew anxious.
"Julian, you must have figured out that the gift Celebi prepared for you is really half-hearted, so that's why you're not giving it any cake. But don't worry, the gift I prepared for you is really great!"
As a true best buddy, Jirachi thought it had guessed the reason Julian wasn't giving Celebi any cake, and promptly drew a clear line between itself and Celebi.
This cake was something Love had spent most of the day making, using only the finest ingredients. The taste had to be absolutely amazing, so Jirachi had to get some no matter what.
Otherwise, it wouldn't have sold out its good buddy Celebi so quickly.
"Jirachi, stop talking nonsense! The birthday card I prepared for Julian—I spent a long time picking it out! And this card even plays music when you open it. It sounds really nice!"
Julian had never expected much from Celebi's gift—same went for Jirachi's—but he never imagined that Celebi would be so perfunctory as to give him a greeting card.
A damn musical greeting card, at that.
If it wasn't his Pokémon but one of his friends, and gave him something like this, he would have immediately cut ties with them and thrown them straight into the trash.
"The rest of the cake is yours."
Julian waved his hand, indicating that he didn't particularly want to look at Celebi and Jirachi right now.
But watching the two little ones happily run off to eat the cake, Julian couldn't help but smile.
"Julian really has raised his Pokémon wonderfully. As expected of someone with our Turner family bloodline."
Harold was holding a small snack made by Slowking, eating while admiring Julian's Pokémon. Of course, quite a few others were admiring them along with him.
Except for the Black and White Dragons, all of Julian's Pokémon were here.
Julian also knew that many of his cousins and relatives wanted to see his Pokémon, so he had specially instructed his Pokémon to act as models for the day for them to admire.
They all knew their boundaries and wouldn't reach out to touch them.
John was also by Harold's side. And upon hearing those words, he immediately grew displeased, "The main key is still the Walker family bloodline."
"What's so great about your Walker family bloodline? Look at Jake—he's just so-so," Harold said dismissively.
Jake, who had been accompanying his father-in-law with a cheerful grin, suddenly found the fire burning right onto him.
The smile on his face instantly stiffened.
He really wanted to retort—'What do you mean "just so-so"? I'm still a Champion, you know. Since when did people start describing Champions as "just so-so"?'
But the one speaking was his father-in-law, so he didn't dare say anything back. All he could do was stand to the side and force a smile.
"Now look at my grandson—add in the Turner family bloodline, and he took off straight into the sky. His Pokémon are this outstanding, and his talent as a Breeder is absolutely indispensable."
Harold often browsed the internet in his free time and had picked up some new slang, even throwing out phrases like "took off."
Early on, in order to cover up the Pokéblocks produced by the System, Julian had given himself the title of a Master Breeder.
At first, not many people believed it.
But as his strength grew more and more, the credibility of that claim grew as well.
Plus, his maternal grandfather Harold truly was one of the rare Master Breeders in Drakoria.
So now, on the official website of the Trainers' Association, Julian's profile not only listed him as a Champion-level Trainer but also bore the title of Master Breeder.
He was even called the world's number one Breeder by quite a few people, which matched up perfectly with his title as the world's number one Trainer.
Harold's words left John speechless. For a moment, he genuinely didn't know how to refute them.
After all, the Pokéblocks for his own Pokémon had long since been supplied by his dear grandson, and the same was true for Jake's Pokémon.
The fact that both of their Pokémon had been able to break through to the Champion tier and continued to grow at a remarkable pace even after becoming Champions had a great deal to do with the Pokéblocks Julian provided.
Julian had told him long ago that he made these Pokéblocks himself. At first, he hadn't believed it either, but as Julian continued to supply him with Pokéblocks steadily, he had no choice but to believe it.
As for where had Julian learned such extraordinary Pokéblock crafting skills, John had no idea.
And according to Julian, it was simply talent.
If that was the case, then it really could be connected to the Turner family—after all, the Turner family had been a lineage of Breeders for generations, having produced no fewer than ten Master Breeders over the centuries.
Harold himself was currently the most senior Master Breeder in the country.
One had to know that the number of Master Breeders in Drakoria was even smaller than the number of Champions.
This just went to show that the talent required to become a Master Breeder was even rarer than the talent needed to become a Champion.
