Chapter 1103: Chapter 1320: Zeraora

Magearna had completely locked onto Registeel as its target. It ignored the other two Regis entirely and focused solely on Registeel.

Of course, even if the other two wanted to attack Magearna, they first had to break through Salamence's and Zeraora's blockade.

Julian rarely fought double battles, let alone triple.

But whether it was doubles or triples, they could still be approached with a singles battle style.

You pick one target and keep attacking it. Wherever it goes, you follow.

Naturally, this style lacked teamwork. If the opposing Pokémon coordinated exceptionally well with one another, then this approach had a very low chance of succeeding—unless your overall strength exceeded theirs.

Julian's Pokémon were all proud and arrogant by nature.

Salamence and the others simply didn't regard the three Regis as worthy opponents. In fact, they felt that fighting them at all was already giving them face.

So from the very beginning, Salamence, Zeraora, and Magearna had all approached the battle as individual one-on-one fights.

If you truly wanted them to cooperate and use coordinated tactics, then their opponents would need to be much stronger and place tremendous pressure on them.

Only under that kind of pressure would they willingly work together.

So it wasn't that they didn't know how to cooperate—it was simply that the three Regis weren't worthy of them bothering to team up.

Electricity surged from Zeraora's feet, and the electromagnetic field created by the current boosted its speed to an astonishing level.

Its opponent was Regirock, and because Zeraora was simply too fast, Regirock couldn't land an attack on it.

It couldn't even use Lock-On successfully.

After all, Lock-On only worked when the target was relatively slow or standing still.

With Zeraora moving at ultra-high speed, locking on was utterly impossible.

When speed reached this level, many moves became difficult or outright impossible to use effectively.

Furthermore, this was a chaotic melee. So even though Regirock could theoretically use Earthquake to disrupt Zeraora's movements through the ground's tremors—and it would actually be a very effective tactic—it simply couldn't do so here.

As Regice and Registeel beside it would also take damage from the Earthquake.

Using Earthquake to deal with a Pokémon moving at high speed on the ground was one of the most effective countermeasures available.

But that only worked when there were no allies nearby. Even Trainers themselves had to be careful.

If a Pokémon used Earthquake while its trainer was still standing on the ground, the trainer would also be hit by the attack—and most likely die.

---

Three Ultimate treasures had been used on Zeraora—not a lot—but the treasure most impactful for Zeraora wasn't the Thunder Shoot; it was the Energy Berry.

Zeraora was different from most Electric-type Pokémon.

Most Electric-types possessed specialized organs that generated electricity, allowing them to produce power on their own.

Zeraora, however, didn't have an electricity-generating organ. Instead, it absorbed electrical energy from the outside world and stored it within its body.

And once that stored electricity was exhausted, Zeraora could no longer use Electric-type moves, placing it in a dangerous and awkward predicament.

Electric-type Pokémon with power-generating organs didn't suffer from this weakness—as long as they had enough stamina, they could continuously generate electricity.

But Zeraora couldn't, so the amount of electricity stored in its body was extremely important.

The Energy Berry increased the amount of electrical energy it could hold, giving it greater endurance in battle.

And with its internal electrical energy now far more abundant than before, roughly doubled what it used to be, Zeraora could now sustain this kind of ultra-high-speed movement for extended periods.

No need to worry too much about running out of power.

Regirock let out a low bellow, and a massive barrage of falling rocks blanketed the entire battlefield.

Salamence rapidly maneuvered through the air. Magearna simply smashed every incoming rock apart with brute force.

As for Zeraora, it transformed into a golden bolt of lightning, weaving swiftly through the gaps between the falling stones.

However, the next instant, Regice fired an Ice Beam at the ground—the moment the beam struck the field, the entire area was instantly sealed in ice.

"Zera!"

Zeraora knew this was aimed specifically at it.

It immediately stopped moving, and intense electricity erupted from both of its hands.

Then, with a fierce motion, it plunged both hands straight into the ground.

Crackle! Crackle—!

The electrical currents instantly became incredibly violent. Like countless lightning serpents, they raced across the battlefield, shattering the frozen terrain wherever they passed.

Yet every strand of electricity perfectly avoided Magearna's position.

This alone showed just how proficient Zeraora's control over lightning had become.

However, the moment it paused, Regirock, Regice, and Registeel all seized the opportunity. The three Regis simultaneously used Lock-On and fixed their targets on Zeraora.

Since Zeraora was an Electric-type Pokémon with Volt Absorb, Pierce naturally wasn't foolish enough to use any Electric-type moves.

Registeel: Steel Beam!

Regirock: Power Gem!

Regice: Ice Beam!

The three Regis attacked from three different directions, clearly intending to eliminate Zeraora first.

After all, Zeraora's ultra-high-speed movement was simply too unfair against slower Pokémon like them.

Now that it had finally stopped moving, they naturally wanted to take it out immediately.

"Mage!"

"Sal!"

Magearna and Salamence immediately launched attacks toward Registeel and Regice respectively, trying to relieve Zeraora's crisis by diverting their attention.

Under Lock-On, Zeraora had no way to dodge, so its only option was to counterattack.

"Zera!"

With a furious roar, lightning surged across its body as it charged straight toward the nearest opponent—Regice.

Its speed was so overwhelming that the three incoming attacks were temporarily unable to catch up.

Meanwhile, Zeraora had already closed in on Regice.

Plasma Fists!

Accompanied by the roar of thunder, the explosion of lightning, and dancing arcs of electric serpents, endless lightning engulfed Regice.

At the same time, Salamence's Flamethrower struck Regice from behind.

BOOOM!!!

Regice was violently blasted away, crashing heavily against the protective barrier of the battlefield.

But at that exact moment, the three attacks finally reached Zeraora.

Steel Beam!

Power Gem!

Ice Beam!

Three different energies collided with its body simultaneously, and the destructive force created by their combination was far greater than simply adding one plus one together.

As the three energies ravaged its body, Zeraora couldn't help but let out a cry of pain.
