Chapter 1142: Chapter 1359: Threat

Mega Mewtwo X and Mega Rayquaza—one at level 112, the other at level 114, at the early- and middle-stages of Forbidden-class respectively—either one of these Pokémon alone could have easily crushed seven or eight peak First-class Legendaries.

And yet now, with two Forbidden-class Pokémon joining forces, Hoopa was still able to hold its ground. Although it was looking rather battered at the moment, it had indeed withstood the combined assault of Mega Mewtwo X and Mega Rayquaza.

At first, Mega Mewtwo X and Mega Rayquaza working together against Hoopa did manage to gain a certain advantage, driving it back step by step.

But later, as Hoopa gradually adapted to the rhythm of their attacks, it slowly began to recover from its disadvantage.

Under the intentional or unintentional guidance of Mewtwo and Rayquaza, the battlefield of the three had shifted from the land of East Africa into the high skies.

This minimized the damage from the shockwaves of their battle to the land and other neighboring regions.

Hoopa's six arms were incredibly agile and could even detach from its body. This unique body structure made its attacks and attack angles extremely difficult to predict.

The summoning time for Shiny Rayquaza was only ten minutes, yet the battle had already raged on for over forty minutes.

Had the system developed a glitch?

Of course, such a thing would never happen.

Julian had simply used his points to purchase Extension Cards. One card could extend Rayquaza's duration by ten minutes, and each card cost one million points.

Julian had already bought four cards, and the time on the fourth Extension Card was also nearly up.

But looking at the situation, this fight probably wouldn't end even if they fought for an entire day.

And he simply didn't have that many points.

As time slowly passed, Xerneas, Regigigas, Kyogre, Rayquaza, and the others had all gathered around Julian.

Watching the battle between the four Forbidden-class Pokémon, their hearts yearned with longing, and they were also itching to join in.

"Don't interfere," Julian said to the Pokémon around him.

The gap in strength between them and Hoopa was simply too great. Although they could act as a nuisance, the effect wouldn't be great, and it would only provoke Hoopa's fury.

Once an enraged Hoopa launched an attack on them, if Mega Rayquaza and the others failed to block it, the struck First-class Legendary—while it wouldn't die—would at the very least be severely wounded, and would then need thousands or tens of thousands of years to heal.

As Hoopa blasted White Kyurem with a Dark Pulse, the tremendous power sent White Kyurem crashing into the ground below like a meteor.

And it wasn't over yet. Hoopa immediately followed up by planting both feet on White Kyurem's back, stomping down with the force of a crushing mountain.

BOOOOM!!!

A gigantic crater over a thousand meters deep formed, while countless cracks spread outward in every direction. The largest fissure even stretched across the entirety of the region.

Crack—!!

Many of White Kyurem's bones shattered, and its injuries were so severe that it could no longer maintain its fused state.

And so, Kyurem and Reshiram separated once again.

Both Pokémon were in extremely poor condition.

With a single attack, Hoopa had severely injured White Kyurem, which had already reached the Forbidden-class. Julian's expression naturally became rather grim.

Moreover, there was now less than a minute left on Rayquaza's time Extension Card.

If Julian didn't buy another Extension Card, then only Mega Mewtwo X would be left to face Hoopa alone.

And under the current circumstances, Mega Rayquaza was the main force keeping Hoopa at bay. If it disappeared, Mega Mewtwo X alone would be absolutely no match for Hoopa.

That seemed to leave Julian with only one choice—the Extension Card.

"Forget it, let's just use it."

Julian spoke with extreme reluctance.

This left Solgaleo somewhat puzzled.

"Julian, I'll go heal Reshiram and Kyurem."

As the God of Life, Xerneas could sense how many lives had already perished in this battle, and that number was increasing continuously as the battle dragged on.

It wanted to restore Kyurem and Reshiram's fighting strength so they could fuse back into White Kyurem and rejoin the battle.

In truth, it also knew that the gap in strength between White Kyurem and Hoopa was quite large, and going back in wouldn't make much of a difference.

But White Kyurem was still a Forbidden-class being, far more useful than the rest of them.

And having an extra ally was always better.

"No need."

But Julian shook his head.

As he spoke, he looked at Xerneas and said, "Are you willing to share eternal life with me?"

Xerneas froze for a moment before angrily saying, "At a time like this, you're bringing that up?"

"I'm asking whether you're willing or not," Julian said, his expression utterly calm.

Seeing how serious Julian looked, Xerneas' expression immediately darkened.

"Are you threatening me?"

It believed that Julian was using Hoopa to threaten it. If it refused, Julian might simply stop fighting, and the world would truly be driven toward doomsday.

At that point, countless lives would perish, and as the God of Life, it could never accept such a thing.

"You can think of it that way," Julian nodded.

Xerneas' expression became even uglier. If it really had any choice, it would have wanted to join Hoopa's side right then and there.

As First-class Legendary Pokémon, they were all immortal and indestructible. They could only be sealed away or fall into eternal slumber—in other words, they simply could not truly die.

But Xerneas was an exception.

Because once it shared its eternal life with another living being...

Then if the one it shared its eternal life with was killed by someone, it would also die, and the world would simply nurture a new God of Life to take its place.

Moreover, it would gain absolutely no benefit from the human with whom it shared its eternal life.

In other words, after sharing its eternal life, it would acquire a fatal weakness for no reason at all, without receiving any benefits whatsoever.

So why would it ever want to share its eternal life?

And once shared, it could never be taken back. In other words, once the bond was formed, it could never be undone. Otherwise, it could at least have tricked Julian.

But now Julian was using Hoopa to threaten it, leaving Xerneas both helpless and with no way out.

"This deer really doesn't know what's good for it. Sharing your eternal life with Julian is your blessing!"

Celebi, perched on Julian's head, stood up and huffed angrily at Xerneas.

"As a First-class Legendary, can't you be a little more broad-minded? Be more like me and think bigger."

Jirachi, who was nestled in Julian's arms, also nodded in agreement.

The two little ones, of course, wanted Julian to live forever so they could always stay by his side.

But this Xerneas guy really seemed to not know when it was being given an honor.

Listening to the two little ones chime in one after another, Xerneas felt like its lungs were about to explode from anger.

These two bastards were talking big without having to bear any of the consequences.

"Then why don't you share yours?"

In its fury, Xerneas had become so angry that it was no longer thinking clearly and roared directly at Jirachi.

"I don't have that ability. If I did, I would've shared it with Dad long ago—without him even needing to ask!"

Jirachi looked at Xerneas with disdain while, at the same time, not forgetting to flatter Julian.
