Pokemon: Reborn Rich Alternate Earth

Chapter 915: The Battle Begins

Chapter 915: The Battle Begins

Since the Black and White Dragons were revived by Julian, to some extent, he was their rebirth parent.

So when commanding the Black and White Dragons, even without Unown's Protection, Julian did not need to pay with his lifespan.

However, commanding a First-class Legendary was extremely draining on mental energy, and this was unavoidable. Still, Julian possessed Master-level Psychic abilities, so his mental strength was quite high.

Moreover, it was now two against one. Even though Yveltal was the famed God of Death, facing off against the Black and White Dragons, who were on the same level as it, it probably wouldn't hold out for long.

But later, Julian would realize that he had underestimated Yveltal.

"Let's go, Zekrom, Reshiram!"

Julian shouted lightly, activating the Unown's Protection and applying it to Zekrom, increasing its overall strength by twenty percent.

Yveltal keenly sensed that the black dragon's aura had suddenly grown significantly stronger.

A twenty percent boost was substantial for a First-class Legendary.

Back when Julian had boosted Kyogre, it was able to overpower Groudon, who originally had similar strength.

Now, with the two dragons having the numerical advantage and Zekrom enhanced by Julian, one had to wonder how the battle would unfold.

Julian: 'With me bringing out the Black and White Dragons, how will you respond?'

The twin dragons soared through the air, and Julian leaped onto Zekrom’s back and taunted Yveltal: "Stupid bird, let's fight in the sky!"

Fighting at high altitude would minimize the collateral damage. If they fought here, even with the Champions present, a large number of the spectators would die.

"Yveltal, ignore him! Kill all these people!"

Lyle clearly understood Julian's intention. Although he was at a disadvantage, he also had an advantage—everyone here was his hostage.

He didn't care about these people's lives, but Julian did.

Fighting here would restrain Julian's movements.

This was the benefit of being a villain—not having to worry about others' lives at all.

Since Yveltal was summoned by Lyle using the soul of a God's Attendant, the backlash of commanding it was exempted, and it would also follow Lyle's orders.

Though only this once.

Yveltal, originally preparing to pursue, halted when it heard Lyle’s command. With a flap of its wings, it launched a slicing Air Slash toward the stands.

"Dammit!"

Julian cursed angrily.

Julian hurriedly had Reshiram block the Air Slash, but the massive shockwave that followed was unavoidable. Even though Zekrom managed to block most of the shockwave, the remaining force still killed thousands of spectators.

The range of the shockwave was simply too vast for Zekrom to completely neutralize.

Moreover, whenever moves collided, regardless of which side won, a shockwave would inevitably be generated. Even a stalemate would result in an explosion.

"Get out of here, now!" Julian shouted at the terrified spectators.

Among the crowd, many were trainers. They immediately released their Pokémon to carry them to safety, while some of the more compassionate ones even went out of their way to rescue others.

Of course, the majority of trainers only focused on their own escape.

This was only natural—human were inherently selfish. When faced with a life-threatening situation, unless it involved someone deeply cherished, why would anyone risk their life to save strangers?

A slightly smaller conscience could allow one to live longer and better.

Julian was no exception.

Seeing that his father had already taken his mother and Love to safety, with Moltres accompanying them, his only worry had completely vanished.

As for the remaining spectators, he could only silently apologize and leave their survival to their own fate.

"Zekrom, Fusion Bolt!"

A sphere of lightning began forming in Zekrom’s mouth, arcs of electricity dancing wildly around it. The surrounding space even started to distort—a testament to the move’s terrifying power.

"Hurry up and go!" Julian took a moment to shout toward the surrounding Champions.

The power of Fusion Bolt was overwhelming—these Champions stood no chance of withstanding its residual force.

The Champions, seeing the disturbance caused by Zekrom’s move, instantly realized how terrifying the move was and quickly mounted their Pokémon to flee.

"Yveltal, Hyper Beam!" Lyle shouted.

Though he was a terrorist leader intent on destroying the world, he was also a Pokémon trainer at heart. No trainer could resist the thrill of commanding a First-class Legendary.

Lyle was no exception, and as he issued the command, his expression carried a hint of excitement—much like Julian when he had commanded Kyogre.

Fusion Bolt and Hyper Beam collided mid-air.

BOOOOOM!!!

A deafening roar echoed across the sky. The atmosphere, previously shrouded in darkness due to Yveltal’s death energy, was now violently torn apart by the explosion.

Sunlight once again bathed the land—but this was far from the end of the attacks. It was only the beginning.

The shockwave from the collision formed a hurricane of unimaginable scale, obliterating the entire stadium in an instant. The residual energy continued to spread outward relentlessly.

Reshiram blocked the shockwave to the east—the direction in which Julian's parents and Love had fled. Some quick-witted survivors had also run toward that side.

But in the unprotected areas, the shockwave raged unchecked—ten kilometers, fifty kilometers, a hundred kilometers, two hundred kilometers...

Buildings collapsed, the earth crumbled—it was as if the apocalypse had arrived.

The number of casualties was beyond counting.

Most of them were people from Babath, but Julian felt no guilt.

In an underground bunker, the higher-ups of Babath watched the devastation of their nation via satellite, slumped in despair.

"It's over... Babath is finished."

Babath had become a battlefield for three First-class Legendaries. By the time the battle ended, even if the nation itself still existed—the death toll alone would be enough to push it toward extinction.

Although they had begun evacuating people to underground shelters as soon as Yveltal appeared, there simply hadn’t been enough time to move more than a fraction of the population.

Moreover, the battle had only just begun, and the underground shelters were designed to withstand attacks at the Champion-level—not from First-class Legendaries. So, even their survival was in question.

Originally, hosting the World Youth Championship was meant to boost the nation's international reputation, and the influx of foreign tourists during the event was also expected to drive an economic boom.

But no one had anticipated this turn of events.

If they had known, they never would have competed with the neighboring country to host it.

Now, every country that had initially vied to host the Championship was secretly relieved they hadn’t been chosen. Babath’s plight could easily have been theirs.

After a brief stalemate, Fusion Bolt overpowered Hyper Beam—after all, Zekrom had the advantage of a 20% boost from Julian’s buff.

BOOM!!

Fusion Bolt struck Yveltal head-on. The lightning carried intense flames within it, fire and thunder intertwining and erupting simultaneously.

A shriek of pain tore from Yveltal as dark waves of death energy burst from its body, forcibly dispelling the lightning and flames around it.

Death energy was Yveltal’s exclusive power—just as Dialga’s power of time and Palkia’s power of space.

In comparison, the Black and White Dragons lacked such unique domain abilities.

So, in a sense, the Black and White Dragons were on a lower tier than Yveltal, because the latter possessed a "divine role."
